  1. Hall apparently no showed ICP's radio show as well due to "private personal reasons". So I don't know but it seems like the big guy might really be depressed over his family issues. I guess we'll see if he blows off Puerto Rico.

TNA will not push or even mention Sting until he signs another contract. While there are several Talents either out of contract or haven't signed one to start, their is fear that Sting could leave at anytime and they don't want to have a situation to where they promote him and he disappears much similar to Shannon Moore. This would not be of concern to TNA if it were not for the rumors that Ric Flair wants to have his retirement match be with either Sting or Triple H but regardless if it's his last match or not, Flair is persistent in his desire to work one more time with Sting. WWE seems more willing now than in the past to entertain the idea of Sting working a lighter schedule. It is however believed that if Sting does come to WWE it's likely that it will require build up and some form of longevity after the match as WWE doesn't have a desire to have Sting come in for one match and then go away, similar to Warrior in WCW.

Just saw that on Gerweck, so I don't know if the PWINSIDER, OR PWTORCH can't remember which it was I posted earlier that said Sting signed is accurate or not.

  2. That corey tapes site has most of that stuff I believe on his site with all the compilations and events. Plus his prices are pretty decent even for burnt bootlegs. I'm picking up a 61 disc comp of Sting for 100 bucks. If you are into that type of thing of collecting matches on disc his site is really helpful. PWTorrents is cool too if you have the dvds and want to burn them yourself. IVP is always good for puro, mexico, and europe.

As far as matches I wish I had on tape I would have liked to see some of the old NWA title matches. I've found some Lou Thez comps, but I'd like to see Jack Brisco and all the old school champions on tape.

I also wish I still had Hart winning the belt from Flair on tape.

  3. It's ridiculous no matter which way you look at it. The fact that the heels and faces were in the ring drinking beers, pepsi, water, and coke together kind of takes kayfabe right out of it. The only kayfabed part of that segment is Austin decking Vince as he gets on the apron and then Austin, Hornswoggle and Triple H pouring beer on him. Sounds to me that someone was bored, and wanted to pick on someone because they could.

  4. I thought it was good as well. I just saw his shoot interview from RF recently on youtube, and would recommend it actually as a companion piece to this dvd if you ever see it on sale somewhere on the net. I thought the match selection was good as well, but I wish the WWE would have done something similar to the Hogan dvd earlier this year where if you bought it from a certain store there was an extra disc of matches. Would have been nice to get his Survivor Series 02 title win on the dvd.

  5. I just posted it because if he did cut down ROH it was obviously to get internet fans talking, etc. I was thinking the same thing about how he goes to the Chicago shows, and helped out that one time when they lost a lot of talent to the snowstorm. I've always heard that Punk is a dick to fans that want autographs, but then on the flipside I've heard quite a few stories that he's a cool guy to fans as well. I guess it just depends on what setting you catch him in.

As far as the story I posted, I think I'd probably be pissed that the whole goal of the appearance was being wasted. Should have made everyone donate their autographed action figures and dvds.

  6. Found this on the wrestlingfigs website, and thought it was interesting. I think Punk being upset sounds about right considering that it was supposed to be a charity style event for kids, and it turned into an autograph signing. I just thought the part about his supposed comments on ROH is interesting.

Autograph session report featuring Rey, CM Punk, and Layla By Chris Sullivan

On Tuesday, December 11 at Faneuil Hall in Boston, WWE stars Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, and Layla were set for an appearance to help Globe Santa. Globe Santa is set up to help needed children in the Boston area during the Christmas holiday. The appearance was set to be from 12 noon till 1pm.

Many fans began to show up around 11am, by 11:45 there were almost 200 people. The stars limo should up about 12:20, 20 minutes late. At that point a rep from the WWE came out to see what was going on. It seemed that the WWE did not know what was going on. The WWE did not know if the stars were going to be signing autographs or if they were just going to say a few things. The people at Globe Santa said that they knew many fan had personnel things to get signed. At that point the rep went back to the limo and 5 to 10 minutes later the WWE stars came out of the limo.

At that point all madness started. There was no line just a large group around the small table set up in the court yard. Fans circled the table and the wrestlers did not know what was going on. CM Punk kept asking what is Globe Santa and what were they doing. A Globe Santa worker yelled they are collecting toys and money to give to need children. At that point CM Puck got on the back of the Globe Santa truck yelling to go to the store and get toys or just to give money.

No line was formed. The WWE rep tried to get a line formed but it would not stay long. CM Punk, Rey, and Layla signed everything that was put in front of them. They tried to keep the line moving but were stopped by different cameras (I think some were from new stations and WWE.com). Just before 1pm, the WWE rep was starting to cut off the line. You could see the CM Punk was getting mad. He was telling fans to move along. He kept leaving the table, and even told a fan with a CM Punk figure to grow up. At one point he took items from a fan that he wanted Layla to sign and told the fan not to get it signed. CM Punk insulted a fan that had a Ring of Honor DVD. Punk belittled ROH and its wrestlers. CM Punk also insulted a few people for handed out fliers promoting TNA’s Impacted and Final Resolution. The people were from TNA Wentworth. They had a few choice things to say to CM Puck including he could not cut it in TNA that is way he was on the low rated ECW.

Layla on the other hand was a sweet heart. She was talking with all the fans. Took photos and signed everything. Layla picked up a set of Christmas bells and started signing Christmas songs. Fans could tell that Layla was having fun.

Rey Mysterio also spent a good amount of time with the fans. Signed everything and took photos with everyone. Rey took the time with all the young fans; he even picked one up and sat the young boy on the table to talk to him for a way.

The whole thing was a giant mess. The WWE reps were extremely pushy. CM Punk was a jerk. Fans that got stuff signed would not leave the autograph table. Layla and Rey Mysterio made the best of a bad thing. I hope the people at Globe Santa did well.

  7. Hmm, I don't know where I got the 30 bucks a month figure from. I do have the service and is a great service, but I thought it was in the 15-30 bucks range. I split the cable bill so I never really looked at the price. Thanks for the correction, but I still think a lot of people are to lazy to search through the on demand service. Out of all my friends and my immediate family I think I'm the only one who uses on demand more than once every few months. My friends pretty much reply, they don't have anything good on it.

  8. Ok, my last attempt to sell these on here. I'll add an unopened copy of TNA: History of Year One and The Rock Says..(His WWE autobiography) for 13 more dollars bringing the total to 65 dollars. That includes shipping and the following unopened dvds.

    TNA:History of Year One

TNA: Sting Return of An Icon

    TNA: Nevermore:Best of Raven

TNA: Phenomenal: Best of AJ Styles

TNA: Best of Bloodiest Brawls(the newer version)

NWA-TNA Best of Title Matches 2003

    WWE Unforgiven 2005

    The Rock Says...book

65 dollars for what could cost you on ebay or by visiting a store anywhere from 80-120 dollars. I'm just judging by my local FYE and Best Buy's prices, and my estimate is probably underestimating what you would end up paying. Offer is good until the 15th.

  9. I think it boils down to this.

-He was a heel when he left that was begging not to lose his job.

-He's not as big of a star as he seems to think. He's a bigger star than a Randy Orton sure, but he's a level below guys like HBK, HHH, and hell even the younger John Cena.

-His character seems to be more suited as a heel. He seems to be a guy you have to run with as a heel for awhile, and let his natural charisma draw the crowd into cheering him, and then you turn him face.

-His reactions the two weeks I've watched weren't that horrible. The first week was a damn good response imo.

-Plus before he left he had been in mid-card Ic title hell for probably two years straight. Then out of the blue he left with a few title shots. He needs convincing wins for credibility.

I think a good tv match with Shawn Michaels, or a good 20-30 minute rematch with Orton on the RAW after the next ppv could do a lot to get the newer fans, or those not interested in him back into him. That's just my opinion though.

  10. The phil parent ravex anthology is probably the best pack of edits. I mean I've had to run through and fix up Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, and a few others. But just little tweaks and color changes. Some of the edits look like a lot of work was put into them, and others are a good start. I mean at the end of the day you can only do so much with a 2d game.

  11. I think WWE should really look into getting some kind of network going, so that the newer fans can atleast see the older stuff without having to pay 30 bucks a month and go ondemand to see it. I mean they can keep their current set-up with the ondemand, usa cw and sci-fi, but they'd also have a network ala the nfl where if you missed the show that week you could watch it throughout the week until the following monday, tuesday, friday. They could also broadcast what they had on the ondemand service throughout the week such as ppvs, nwa tv, ecw tv, etc. I'd hate to see the history of the sport disappear except for whatever number of internet fans there is, which even a good percentage of the net fans don't know a lot of the older stuff.

  12. Caught the last 30 minutes. Marty match was good for a Kennedy match, thought I heard a few small Marty chants and a Kennedy sucks chants, nothing big though. I have to say I found Austin entertaining tonight, I usually don't like his random appearances, but the Summerslam one and tonight were both funny in my opinion, McMahon's selling of his beating was great too.

  13. I mean he had a decent run in AJPW, which isn't anything to discount. Puro doesn't mean much to the casual fan, but in the big picture he should be remembered as a decent tag wrestler who won a few different tag championships.

    3 x WWF Tag Champ

AJPW Unified World Tag Team Champ

Here is a little interview with him from 2001. It's funny I probably would have preferred Bart Gunn to return with the Mike Barton name and get a run rather than Billy Gunn.

  14. Shelley was funny, but he has a very offbeat humor. Some of the stuff he said was so off the wall it'd get a chuckle, but when someone like Nash says that same type of things it was just funnier. Just for me anyway. I kind of expect Shelley with his "trendy" style of personality to say off the wall shit, but Nash was always a very laid back badass who'd throw some sarcasm out as his humor. Goofy Nash was gold.

Speaking of those segments I wish they were still going to make the Paparazzi dvd they announced last year.

    Edit: Got this from tnawrestlingnews.com

    Source: PWTorch.com

Sting and TNA have agreed on new terms and he will in fact be staying with the company through 2008.

He will be working a lighter schedule and won't be on TV every week.

I know the board has a few Sting fans like myself so I figured I'd post this.

  15. Just got the John Cena and HBK dvd. Looked for the World Class dvd at Best Buy and K-Mart, but couldn't find it. I guess FYE really did break the street date on it.

I really like the John Cena documentary and the car collection extras. I have all the matches already, and I've yet to see the five question segments. Maybe I'll watch them tomorrow. I've been on and off with whether I like Cena since he debuted, and the last year or so has made me become a big fan of his entire body of work. I think he's going to be one of those big names that people talk about 20-30 years from now.

HBK dvd is awesome and they always do a good job with HBK match selections. It's hard to go wrong with HBK when it comes to matches.

  16. Since I posted a lot of power/technical wrestlers in my previous collection style posts I'll do a cruiserweight mega-post featuring Blitzkrieg, Jericho, AJ Styles, Malenko, Jericho, Ultimo Dragon, and a few others.

  17. I would like to say I wish we'd see a lot more of the old school match formula, but I do like the occasional back and forth match. I do agree that the lack of selling and facials needs to be worked on, but you can build a good match back and forth without doing the old school Babyface gets his shine, heel gets his heat after using a questionable tactic, 1-3 hope spots, comeback, false finishes, finish.

  18. Here is a Steven Regal Post
