I have, if only because they were one of my favorite independent cupcake teams to face in the last ESPN College Basketball game. Just how bad is Stanford this year? Even Duke was able to beat up on I-AA team today with a 40-14 victory over VMI. I hope Duke enjoyed it because that will likely be their only win of the season.

I'd be in a fantasy hockey league as well, if one happened. In Lightning news, it looks like Dmitry Afanasenkov accepted his QO to return to the team. It is also rumored that Dan Boyle is about to sign a multiyear deal with the team. Hopefully, this means that the team is (finally) starting to come together.

I am looking to trade some of my younger pitchers for a starting pitcher who is a bit older, but a bit better. Also, if anyone feels some odd need to want to keep him for next year, Ramon Hernadez is available. I can't imagine getting too many offers for him though.

Hey now, you can still watch music videos on VH1, as long as you're awake between 3 and 10 in the morning, or watch their Top 20 Countdown! The funny thing is that I saw a commercial the other day for VH1 talking about how they're "all about the music!" Odd, I think if I turned on VH1, I would be more likely to see a B or C level celebrity than I would music. The same thing that's happening to a lot of the older cable stations lately. They are trying to increase their audience by showing stuff that caters to as wide of a variety of people as possible in an attempt to get ratings, or be something more than a station that caters to a certain niche. It's not a bad thing, really. There is only so much music related programming to show. Mind you, I think it's silly to go away from music programming as much as VH1 and MTV have, but at least there are other choices out there like Fuse, VH1 Classic, or the internet should someone want their music fix.

It looks like my pitching staff FINALLY got it together last week getting 2 wins and have a combined ERA under 3, as I stopped my 5 week or so winless streak. Already, this week seems positive as Scott Elarton pitched a complete game, while my opponent's ERA is going to be screwed after Bruce Chen's sterling 1.1 inning 6 run performance. Plus, his starting 2B second baseman just went on the DL. Hopefully, that will bode well for this week's game.

Actually, I think there were four open spots, Cuban, and two were taken.

Well, he's what, 41 or 42 now? Maybe age and/or injuries are finally starting to catch up to him. Being on a slumping Yankees team probably isn't helping much either.

Well, I just happened to notice that Oakland is losing 11-0 to Tampa Bay in the second inning after giving up 10 runs in the first inning. That's got to be some sort of record for the Devil Rays. How the heck did Oakland become so bad all of a sudden?

It just seems like almost every time I pay attention to a Yankees game and I see Tom Gordon come in, the Yankees always seem to find a way to blow a game. True. I guess I was just greedingly thinking about one of my fantasy teams, since I was fairly certain that the Mariners were going to blow that lead. I am still shocked that they didn't find a way to walk Giambi or something. I am just happy I wont have to see any Yankees vs. A's/Mariners games for awhile.
