The OAO Raw Thread - April 5, 2004

Kim just can't win. She debuts in a battle royal. Now, it looks she will return to action in a battle royal type match. Seems like a waste. -
I would definitely try to install contracts which would reward a player for exceeding expectations and punish for the player for not living up to his end of the deal. Basically, having a high, base, and low category for salary. The two sides could set up numbers for the statistics that would be the numbers or goals that are expected of the player for the season in question. If he can greatly exceed those expectations, he gets paid a certain % more. By contrast, if he has a TERRIBLE year, he would lose an equal amount from the base of his contract. I figure it would be a good way to reward an excellent performance from a player, while allowing a team the chance to recoup some of the money they spent from a bad contract.

Fascinating. Someone at the Tampa Bay Lightning website must have been really bored as, apparently, if you highlight their playoff schedule, it gives you scores for six of the seven games against the Islanders. It has the Lightning going over in 7 after a 2-1 triple overtime victory.

Wow. Tigers win! The Tigers are undefeated! The Tigers are actually over .500! Well...those are three things I won't be able to say much this season. I might as well get it out now.

Who are going to be the next champions?
Der Kommissar replied to Youth N Asia's topic in The WWE Folder
RAW World: Chris Benoit - It is obvious it will be Triple H. IC: Randy Orton - Benjamin seems like a prudent pick. Tag: Flair and Batista - I'll go out on the limb here, and say Tomko and Fertig. Womens: Victoria - I will again go out on the limb, and say, Gail Kim. SMACKDOWN World: Eddie Guerrero - I honestly don't see Eddie losing it for awhile. I will say either John Cena or Rene Dupree will take it from him. US: John Cena - Dupree Tag: Rikishi and Scotty - Dudleys Cruiser: Chavo - Rey Mysterio Jr. -
I know that. It's just frustrating to know that, despite his best efforts, it seems like Phoenix just can't get it together.
-
As someone unfortunate enough to have the Tigers as my hometown team, I was able to get a good chuckle out of this one.
-
My team managed to take the consolation bracket, beating Flik's team 9-8. Considering how much ass my team sucked for like the half the season, I consider that quite the accomplishment.
-
As usual, Suzuki is being held down playing for that shitty Phoenix team. Why he was stupid enough to re-sign is beyond me.

I'll grab South Korea. -
Ah yes. I knew Baker had done something mindnumbling stupid a few months back, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what. *shakes head* That was even more embarrassing than I expected.
-
As an outside observer, I found the whole thing to be entertaining. Quick question: While Michael Moore was obvious, why was Dusty Baker the other half of the "Dynamic Duo?"

Bah. They should try to hire back Nathan Jones or maybe even they can give us the long awaited return of...the Giant Gonzalez! It can be the feud 11 years in the making!

Perhaps, Eldridge was the Eldridge's son, and he mentioned to her that he lived in San Fran. near the Golden Gate bridge? I have also noticed that the words start with are e, f, and g, though I can't figure out if that has any connection to it.

I'll vote Niebla, since I have watched CMLL a few times.

I squashed another drone in the consolation bracket 11-4, going into the finals against Flik. It's too bad that my team sucked ass for 75% of the season, or I may have been to make a respectable showing in the playoffs. Ah well. At least it should be a good consolation final, if nothing else.
-
Indeed. I shook many a fist and nearly blew many a lead while trying to figure out how to shoot free throws on the College equivalent of this game. It shouldn't take me the better part of an hour to learn how to shoot something as elementary as free throws. Of course, now I have it down to a science virtually, and don't miss too many free throws a game. I have mainly been working on ESPN College Hoops myself. It is not a bad game, really. The only thing I really dislike is that it seems way too random for me. For instance, a bunch of teams who just aren't very good in real life seem to do very good in this game. Like my last season had Colorado as a number one seed, among other seed oddities that made no sense. It makes it very hard to tell how good I am at the game. Plus, for my team, I'd simulate against some jobber team and blow them by 30 on the road, then promptly simulate a loss to the same team at home(which is traditionally easier) by 20. Otherwise, it is a fun enough game. Unfortunately, my first legacy was ruined because the game was defective, as it now looks like I will win my first national title with Cal State Fullerton. Not exactly how I wanted it, but I like their elephant logo.
-
I didn't mind Stanford or St. Joe's getting in as number one too much. Every year, a number one will usually get bounced from the tournament before the Final Four. Heck, last year's tournament had two number three seeds in the Final Four, both of whom defeated the number one seed by more than 10 points. Picking number one is a crapshoot. As long as deserving teams are seeded somewhere between 1 and 3, I am happy. Heck, if anything, I was more pissed that they wasted a 5th spot on Florida. Re: Gonzaga...*sigh* As a mid major fan, this hasn't been a good year. I was hoping Gonzaga would at least make a respectable showing, but they got bounced in the second round. I was hoping this could be a good year for mid-majors. I guess I was wrong; however I am happy to see Nevada was able to get to the Sweet sixteen.
-
Well, I knew a number one seed would go down before the Final Four. I just didn't think it would happen this soon.

Nice to see Louisville choking it up, as has been their M.O. lately. For awhile there, I thought they may have returned to their early season form.
-
*sigh* I finally have time to watch a game, and I get Xavier vs. Louisville, the least enthusing game of the four for me.
