How much are they paying for their time? If they sell advertising does FSN get the money or TNA? How long is the contract? What's the rate for renewal? Is there a mutual option out? What happens if TNA's content is found unacceptable by FSN officials? Does TNA have to pay for the spot when the show is pre-empted in a market? If not, how much less do they get to pay? Does TNA get guaranteed cross-promotion? If so, what are the terms? I'd like to see legal copy, and not word of mouth off the internet, please.

Mike, unless you have a copy of the legal contract between TNA and FSN, you shouldn't talk about their deal like you're their fucking lawyer. And if TNA increased their viewership, why would FSN change the setup? They're making money off of TNA right now as it is, and TNA OBVIOUSLY isn't selling advertising. (And no, it's not just that wrestling doesn't sell advertising)

As for the advertising issue: It's not wrestling that doesn't draw the advertisers, it's WWE. You can thank the PTC for that, as Vince did by suing them. I'll admit, though, that the stigma has stuck to wrestling as a whole. Not to mention that the name "TNA" doesn't quite lend you the best chance to get advertisers. As for Mike's claiming that TNN wasn't anything before WWE: With or without RAW, TNN/Spike would have underwent massive changes as they were purchased by Viacom. The change started with the name change from "The Nashville Network" to "The National Network." Spike wouldn't be where they are at without RAW, but they would have found something else to make their name. And for the ratings argument: FSN gets bad ratings because NOONE WATCHES IT!. PERIOD. It doesn't matter what show. FSN isn't a network but an affiliation of Networks. It's not like ESPN, where everyone see the same thing on a schedule. You can never tell what you're going to see. Which is why noone watches it. I guarantee that WWE's ratings wouldn't be as high if they were on FSN. And I'm interested that TNA could end up on Spike. If I didn't feel like it would end up screwing them in the long run.

I refuse to order it, quite honestly. I think $24.95 plus shipping is just ridiculous for that. When they get a distribution deal, we can start seeing them at a lower price. But until then, I just can't bring myself to pay that kind of money for it. You can buy two WWE PPV DVD's from somewhere like deepdiscountdvd.com or even WalMart for almost the same price . . . I really don't understand why TNA can't (or won't) get a DVD distribution deal . . . I can get CZW and ROH stuff at my local Best Buy or FYE (granted, neither are new shows, but they're there anyway), but can't get the second biggest wrestling fed in America. Kinda weird, don't you think? It's almost like they WANT to get ridiculous prices for TNA stuff . . . . Plus, Victory Road was a stinker of a PPV. The next 3 (Turning Point, Final Resolution, and Against All Odds) are much better. No amount of extras would save a Victory Road DVD from being bad. The ROH videos at FYE aren't ROH releases, they're Takedown Masters releases, and don't have all the matches on them.

And I have to say that I understand the non-love for Joss Whedon. I didn't think it was that bad when I started it, but by the time I was done I was extremely disappointed. He's got decent dialogue, but he over exaggerates certain aspects of the characters personalities (i.e.- Wolverines' beer drinking.) He also used every cliched Marvel story in the book. I mean, come on ALIENS? An X-Man destroying a planet? Someone not being dead? Though I admit that the idea of a mutant cure isn't too bad, it's not that original. Has the guy read any of the series before now? Does he not realize he's chopping up old stories and putting them together? And my last question: Was there anything about the kid who got cured later on in the series? If no, then that's bullshit. There's a good story there waiting to be told.
