40 Drowning Victims May Have Been Murdered by 'Smiley Face Gang
Jonathon posted a topic in Current Events
Detectives: 40 Drowning Victims May Have Been Murdered by 'Smiley Face Gang' Monday, April 28, 2008 At least 40 young men who drowned may have died by far more sinister means — serial killings at the hands of a national gang that revels in murdering young men and leaving smiley-face markings at the scene, a team of retired New York City police detectives and criminal justice investigators said Monday. They believe the victims, including University of Minnesota student Chris Jenkins and Fordham University student Patrick McNeill, didn't accidentally drown but were actually killed by members of the so-called "Smiley Face Gang." A smiley-face symbol was found painted at some of the drowning locations — in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa, they said. "They're telling you here that they're into evil, they're very happy as most serial killers are," said retired NYPD Det. Kevin Gannon. "They're content with their work and what they're doing and the fact that they're thwarting the police." Jenkins' body was discovered in the Mississippi River about four months after he disappeared in 2003. To police, his death looked like an accidental fall after a night of drinking. McNeill drowned in New York City in 1997, also after bar-hopping. The task force that formed to solve the crimes believes a national crime network has killed at least 40 men — mostly white college students and 20-somethings, often with high grades and impressive athletic records — in about 10 different states. The team investigated 89 separate cases dating back a decade and said it had connected 40 of them through a variety of evidence — including matching sets of gang graffiti. It was Jenkins' death, however, that tipped off police. His body was found encased in ice in the Mississippi, his hands folded across his chest in an odd pose that was inconsistent with a chance drowning. Gannon and another NYPD detective, Anthony Duarte — along with the other investigators — believe a gang of killers has been trolling interstates from New York to Wisconsin, staging the drownings. The FBI and local authorities don't agree with the theory that all the drownings are linked and the work of a gang. But families of the victims have long believed their loved ones' deaths were suspicious. "The people that murdered Chris have murdered before him and they've also murdered people after him, Jan Jenkins said on "Good Morning America." "Those people are still at large." http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352960,00.html Why so serious? -

Man, Remember That Bomb Ass Time On RAW

Completely hilarious. Wikipedia. During this time, he entered an unofficial alliance with Simon Dean, serving as a successful user of the Dean character's "Simon System" line of nutritional products. The team was split when Dean was traded to SmackDown!, and Maven was subsequently released by WWE on July 5, 2005. WWE cited decreased revenue and a lack of enthusiasm with respect to Maven's in-ring ability as the cause of his release. WWE once tried to re-sign Maven on the ECW brand but he declined it. [edit] Reality TV and independent circuit (2005-Present) A few months after his release from WWE, it was announced by VH1 that Maven would be a participant in Season Six of The Surreal Life. On the first episode, he was picked by the existing castmates as the seventh and final cast member in a "15 More Minutes of Fame Reality Hunk Pageant," beating four other reality hunks, including infamous American Idol contestant Corey Clark. Subsequently, Maven was a host for a show on BET Jazz. He continues to work the Independent circuit after nearly retiring, usually for Hermie Sadler's UWF. -

He's been on RAW and PPV's since the Royal Rumble as the backstage interviewer. Here's a clip of his work on ECW, so you can see how bad he is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4dLhh-h7Ws Adamle was also on the first American Gladiators run with Larry Csonka. -
I just hate that I heard some girls at the mall say "Honest to blog?"

The new season is way better than I thought, and I'm actually liking the guy with the crazy hair, which surprises me because the promos he cut before the season made him look like a total tool. I love "Pretyboy" greg, too.

I enjoyed the 98 one, just because during that tournament, you could physically SEE the Rock turning from heel to a face throughout the night.

"blowjoy" has now entered my lexicon. Great cougar sketch.

Vic Mackey makes his return on Idol!

Yeah, I heard the same thing. I think they're sowing the seeds of a possible Avengers movie down the line.

Anybody seen it yet? I read the book and thought it was horrible, at least compared to "Simple Plan". The movie looks true to the book, so we'll see...

Yeah, Jacinda has made a decent name for herself as a somewhat-serious actress, being in "The Last Kiss" ,"The Namesake", "Poseidon", and "Ladder 49".

You can rent the pilot for free at Blockbuster (it comes with Chuck and Life pilots, too). Terrific show, the pilot did all the right things and hit all the right notes. Kevin McKidd is a great as the lead, and it's good to see Reed Diamond working as a smug cop again. Hopefully this one goes for the long run.

That show ran a long ass time... It went from high school to college to "real world" jobs to parenting...yeesh.

Same here. The scene where they tried to double team the older dude. Ah, I thought I was the only one.

Asylum only makes movies that are "rip-offs" of other movies. They just released I am OMEGA, they have Alien vs. Creature. There is Snakes on a Train, Child 666 (which is The Omen). Is this the same company that made "Transmorphers"?

I can't believe Bionic Woman got the full season pick up, and Journeyman didn't.

The first couple of seasons were great, but there were far too many "Jump the shark" moments in later seasons to say that every episode was gold. However, the finale was phenomenal, and tied up the show the way it needed to be tied up. Through it all, I never lost heart for poor Beecher.

Looks like the show as been officially canned. Last episodes to air the 17th and 19th..
