IWA Mid-South 6/19/04: A Butcher Loose in Highland
Youth N Asia replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Anyone who watched Pondo/Abby and then said "I was expecting better" was aiming far too high. You knew what you were going to get. It was by no means great, but it was definatly a hell of a spectical. -
My last dream was me at work (Target), and they were coming by for laundry, so I threw my pants in (I guess they were collecting them in a shopping cart and taking them to the back. So anyway I'm walking around in my unders and a girl who works there is flirting with me...and I do my best to try and hide the fact that I'm aroused. That goes nowhere though...but the end result is me ducking through the asiles and whatnot so the customers don't see me half naked. I don't know what to make of it...

Maury's tough guy lesson teachers are jokes. They can't touch the kid, so there is zero real threat.
-
Why can't it just be "rock?" If we did that everything would be so much easier. I could say "I like Thursday." And some indy kid would pop up out of nowhere with "that's not punk!" And I would have to defend with "I never said it was, goddamit!" I was on a message board a while back saying I liked a band. And them some dickhead made this long post explaining why that band wasn't punk and how I was a dumbfuck for suggesting they were...which I didn't I hate indy kids. Ian makes good enough points...but he's just one of them.
-
Maury used to be watchable. But now every episode is the "who's my baby's daddy." I picked Jenny Jones...I just always had the urge to punch her in the face
-
well, when he showed up a while ago he beat down the French guys and left. Last night he took a verbal shot at Tomko and just walked on. And while I'm not a Tomko fan, the guy isn't over and this isn't helping.

I could care less about Rock's "here today, gone tomorrow" one nighters. All he does is comes in and burys people in promos...people who will still be there next week, and the next Although it would make more sense to put him on Smackdown. But it's clear they want that to be their midcard show anyway. And that diva trash has got to stop. I don't need that taking up 4 segments every single week. Bischoff and HHH take up enough as it is.

SCOOT! SCOOT! SCOOT! SCOOT! Smackdown looks like shit again.

Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.
Youth N Asia replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
This also goes with my theory about which one would turn out better. Mary-Kate...double name, too hillbilly, doomed from the start. While Ashley's are always hot. -
I kinda wanted to see 28 Day Earlier...which would start with the monkeys and pretty much end where the dude gets out of bed. You'd see everything that happened between that time.

I don't think anyone is shocked by it. And while I'm not for kicking people while they're down...she's a fucking idiot -

And another thing...this whole thing with timing your entrence music with coming out the doors is getting a little much...when you're spot to come out isn't till a minute into the song it's time for a new tune. -

The Wild Cards beat the All-Stars -Solid opener. Wild Cards seemed to be trying a tad too hard to be bad guys. But some nice double team moves by both teams. Cash Flo was DQ¹d, giving Trik Davis a victory. -Solid enough, dunno about the finish though. Trik's chest was in shreads by the end of the match. Sick chops. Ace Steel beat Jimmy Jacobs with the Ace Crusher. -Jimmy's gimmick is alright, but I don't get how over he is because of it. Good match, although less than I expected. Women's champion Lacey beat MsChif. -I doubt that MsChif was "turned" face...I think the people just love her. Very good match. Chif is the shit, she was also very nice after the show. Mad Man Pondo and Abdullah went to a no-contest. -About what I expected out of the two. Sick sick sick brawl. Blood everywhere. Funny how they tarped the ringside area, they were there so little time. Although a finish would have been nice...it was just punches and scisor shots really. I wanted to see the Abby elbow. Ryuji Ito beat "Spyder" Nate Webb after a frog splash on a chair through a table. -Now I don't know all about the deathmatch title...but what the hell was that? I don't even care for hardcore...but there was zero hardcore. There was one nunchuck choking spot and a table spot near the end...but that was it. Good match, but not what they said it would be. Pondo dancing on the table to "teenage dirtbag" durring Nate's entrence was the best part of it all. Arik Cannon beat Chris Hero with a roll-up; this was the best match of the night. -I don't know about best match of the night. I thought it dragged for a while. Although the finish was great and well executed. I don't know if they knew who was face and heel though. Delirious beat Chris Sabin, another great match. -Personally I thought this was MOTN. Crowd loved it, both guys were on, and a really good and suprising finish with D winning. Tag champions Ryan Boz and Brad Bradley beat Danny Daniels and BJ Whitmer, when Fannin went to throw a chain to Daniels, but Boz caught it and used it. -meh...the crowd was burnt out by this time. Good match though. Daniels was over as a face. But the chain spot at the end was awful. Don't do that unless you can even make it look like a close throw. -Although I was sitting behind this weird little guy who kept calling Daniels "dickhead" the entire match. No less than 20 times. IWA champion Petey Williams beat Alex Shelley with sharpshooter. -ok match, the crowd was mostly dead by this time I think. 4 1/2 hours is too long for a regular wrestling show. Gowen sucks as a heel, and just didn't need to be a part of the match. Way too much stalling. Anyway, very good show. MsChif was very cool after the show, as was Delerious and Pondo. Gowen seemed like an asshole. And one mean little kid called him a one-legged beeyouch and hopped around on one leg after the show. But once the show's over it doesn't kill you to be nice to people...so I don't weep. -
The Terminal just hasn't gotten near as much advertising as his last bunch of movies. I've only seen a few ads for it. Around the World just doesn't look good...I am not suprised by those numbers

WHOOO!!!!!!! Just 5 days till the best show on TV is back. The Shield. I got hooked from the first episode and been a huge fan since. Really looking forward to seeing how they work from where they left off with the money train and Dutch at the crimescene. Dani's firing. Julian's beating. Claudette's promotion, and everything else.

Movies worth owning for just one part
Youth N Asia replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Cabin Fever. Real shitter of a movie, and not worth owning. Not scary enough to be horror, not funny enough to be comedy... But there is one part that made me laugh pretty good. There's a racial joke at the beginning that makes you snicker a little and just say "that's not right." But there's a payoff for it at the end that just had me rolling. Don't want to spoil it though. -
The Shield, season 3. Official Thread
Youth N Asia replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Idea I'd like to see. New season starts a couple of months after season 3 ended. Strike Team is broken up. Shane and Vic are still partners. Lem and Tavon are partners. Ronnie and Dutch are now stuck as partners pending Claudette's promotion. Everyone's still bitter about everyone else. Keep it that way for 5 or 5 episodes. Then have one huge case that ends up bringing the Strike Team back together, unwillingly at first. Ronnie could get to know Ducth and start defending him against Vic and Shane. Plus Dutch has gotta sucker punch Vic sometime next season...just has to happen. -
Dog Soldiers is very cool. I picked it up for $6.99 at Circuit City a while ago. I thought about mentioning it myself.
