I never thought about this until now.. An offseason would be something to consider for the creative team....and plus these guys are former hollywood writers...and they always had an offseason which could explain for some of the laziness...but they have been doing it for about 3 or 4 years now....soooooo, they could have adjusted to writing for wrestling shows.. But in the end everyone needs a break.....and maybe that's what THIS creative team needs..

I wouldn't mind seeing Flair as a color commentator... I thought I would never say this but after watching his DVD two days ago....his promos absolutley suck right now....he's not even close to what he was a few years ago...
-
Wrong...Vinnie Ru didn't start writng for WWF/E until late 1996 or early 97...
-
Exactly BHk.... As long as WWE is making money....and the ratings are not below a 2.9...and they have descent buyrates...you will see ZERO change in the creative department... The only way you will see a change as if Steph resigns and Gerwitz resigns with here......
-
You are absolutely right...
-
Wal Mart of course....but I got this DVD @ buy.com website...
-
I'm assuming WWE didn't want to waste time on the VHS version since they probaly get most of their sales from DVD..... I just bought the DVD for $19.99 will watch this weekend...

Vince McMahon selling $82 million of WWE stock!
Kizzo replied to Ultra Violence's topic in The WWE Folder
You are right SpiderFan, we couldn't possibly picture this company without the name McMahon involved.....but you never know...it may just be a good idea to let someone other than a McMahon have a say in the company corporate wise.... Break the company into two...with someone ownng one part of the WWE and the McMahons controlling the other....Which means making RAW and Smackdown actual companies....now thats a TRUE split -
I think Nielson does include Tivo recording...or they will start to do it when the new systems come out...they didn't include satellite in the past...but now they do.....With added households added to the system..it may just backfire on the WWE or help them... Anyhoo....I predicted this would happen...nothing long term is set...sure we have the occasional good show...and a hot feud here and there..and when there are no new ideas..this is what happens each and every time....

Vince McMahon selling $82 million of WWE stock!
Kizzo replied to Ultra Violence's topic in The WWE Folder
This only means Vince owns 60 to 65% of the company now instead of 80 to 85%..... I think that's correct......He still has big influence in the company....and he still has the deciding vote.. I wonder who would want to step in if McMahon sold more of the stock....????? -
Very interesting interview...... Cat is right about one thing.....the writers would be better off writing for a gay magazine....looking at what they have done in the past...
-
As one guy posted its 1995 all over again....... I'm really getting tired of these "racist" gimmicks...as an african american I sometimes find these ideas very offensive....perhaps I need to bring the NAACP's attention to this issue

That is horseshit. Triple H was in just as bad of physical shape as Steiner. it could be argued that in a calculated attempt to make Steiner look bad, triple H simply took all of the bumps while Steiner was forced to do all fo the work. Triple H did NOTHING in that match, NOTHING. Coudn't have said it better myself....
-
Ok..I got the Smackdown crew right here... Creative Team.. Michael Seitz - Staff Writer Chris Kreski - Staff Writer (1999-2000) David J. Lagana - Staff Writer (2002-current)(The one who is booking the shows....supposedly a friend of Heyman when he was the head writer of Smackdown...) Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley - Director (2000-current)

Don't blame the music people....the blame should be on WWE...they should have asked to extend the liscnese to the DVD as well....then we wouldn't have this problem
-
Oh yeah, he was really thrilled to work with Steiner....he had to have someone to work with after destroying every other threat....
-
Who in the hell is booking this show????
-
I missed those crash tv style matches But you are correct..go back and look at some old tapes during the era of 97-2001 and you will see a big difference in the matches..
-
Use Your Illusion....if he wasn't booked against Triple H and lets say worked a match against someone like Rock or Kurt Angle then just maybe things would a little bit different IMO.. Remember the now so famous "Triple H Effect" was running strong in that year as well...
-
I actually liked Scott Steiner....he had the potential to become a main eventer if he was booked correctly.....wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do after October 2004.....
-
RAW has been good...the bits I have seen..I never watch the entire show anymore... SI82...Kreski was the creative supervior/director of the WWE Creative Team...so in other words he had his hand in anything that dealt with creative...that includes booking, writing, and other stuff involved...
-
Exactly....and the matches were very good at that.... I use to refer to his style as "crash tv version II"....where there was a balance of entertainment and some good old wrestling on top... And on the subject of the new WWE writer..lets just hope that he doesn't become one of the sheeps in the creative room....but if he doesn't then he will probaly end up on the unemployment line because you dont' step on McMahon's toe....Heyman is an example of what happens when you cross the boss...
-
He didn't finish the love triangle angle because he quit the company before he could finish it... The WM 2000 ending was a brillant idea...and as Choken One pointed out it shook things up, because not every Wrestlemania had to have a face always triumphing in the end....The ending was full of twist and turns you could tell it was from a Hollywood writer Of course not every writer is going to be the perfect one....he made plenty of mistakes as alll writers will do, and not every angle they propose isn't always going to be the best....
-
I would have looked forward to it.. Looking back at this...Kreski left around the time they were planning for the Austin return....I wonder if the politics began with the returning Austin
-
Andrew remember this...Kreski did plan his storylines in advance...I'm sure they had copies of some old scripts and ideas he had planned for the future...but didn't implement them correctly(which i doubt that would use them anyway..but hey its always a possibility) That being said.....X-7 was a great event but storyline wise or looking long term it didn't really establish anything...and plus WCW was just purchased before the event...so alot of hype surrounding that..
