I don't really think that was the case. I think it's more of a case of Vince wanting to establish Smackdown as a top show and recognizing the potential revenue he could make off having a network spot. True but even in 2001 it was still an equal to RAW.....I think after the brand split....Vince started to play favoritism.... Vinnie Ru in an interview in 2001 mention that when he was booking RAW....he always wanted to make sure that Smackdown was an equal to it as well...or something like that..

33, actually. I only know that because he was 24 when he won his first WCW World title on 04/22/96. Which actually makes him the "first" young WORLD CHAMPION, not Randy Orton

In 99 and 2000 Smackdown was treated as an equal to RAW...but we need to know who was running the creative team back then....Vinnie Ru and Chris Kreski...

Why in the hell do they want to replace Long...he is doing a fantastic job...

Kevin Sullivan on the damn creative team.....now this is just wonderful...all we need now is Kevin Nash and we have 1998-99 all over again... If he starts to suck up and become Triple H's favorite he will probaly move up to Steph's assistant creative director..

When it come to creative decisions Bischoff sucks badly...the guy ADDED KEVIN NASH to the damn creative team....how stupid is that... Although he created some sucessful storyline...like the nWo....and bring cruisers in and etc....but other than that...

Wow....interesting contract stuff I guess most of the money is given to the executives and the writers....the reason I mention writers is because of Chris Kreski....years ago on zap2it.com it was reported Chris Kreski signed a 7 figure deal with WWE...

I have a subscription to "Details" and just got the latest issue in the mail....it has a photo spread of the Rock and an article on him.... ...I did pick up something interesting in the article....for the Scorpion King he made history....From the mag..."The Scorpion King, for which he earned 5.5 million, the biggest check ever ffor a first-time top-billing actor" Good article...

I thought Rock purchased the trademark "The Rock" from Vince McMahon a few years back....I think it was in 2003 when I read that from 1 Wrestling.com.... Anyways if he does lose it...not a big deal.....he goes by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in some credits and during advertisments for his films....not all the time but sometimes..

It shouldn't be that either....more like 34.95...since they are going to have the rematches the next night anways...and highlights from the show as well... One thing I liked about wCw PPVs they would only show screenshots of the PPV"s and never show the actual video footage.....makes those who actually "purchased" the show feel special WWE PPV prices: Wrestlemania: 34.95 Big 4 PPV's : 29.99 RAW and Smackdown PPVs: 19.99 But it would never happen....

The ship was already sinking when he got there(60 million plus anyone).....and he was the creative director not the damn CEO or CFO of the company.... I'm not denying that the WWE is not making money....because they are...mostly due to cuts and among other things.....and they have expanded to more international shows....which almost always seem to sell out...plus DVD sales are doing very good.... Where WWE is suffering the most is in T.V. ratings and buyrates....

You have to be kidding me.... Can you name one postive out of the Stepanie McMahon era since October of 2000.....??? Russo/Ferrera did a good job when they first came to wCw...of course not having a guy like McMahon behind them...hurt just a little bit...and of course you had the Standards and Practices that put you through hell as well.....even Bischoff hated the S&P..

I like Mr. Long....he's straight down the middle...which he needs to be.....Looks like the writers are slowly moving Bischoff to the middle as well... They shouldn't replace Long....I'm tired of these kinds of storyline...Long should be the Smackdown GM for a good while....have a steady GM is the best thing to have....thats' one good thing I can say about RAW...they have had the same GM since 2002...

This tops it all!^^^ What kind of business man would break an agreement with a company that let him use their intials if he only didn't use them overseas...I mean how hard is that....I know WWE has to do business overseas....but they could have referred the WWF to WWFE when they were over there, plus the scratch logo added fuel to fire...which could have been confused with claws.... And what business man would replace a Hollywood writer who did a very good job from late 99 til October 2000 with his daughter who had NO experience in writing or the creative process....what kind of busness move is that...it just amazes me....

Thanks for the info... I didn't mind him....with Bischoff and Heenan part of the team...he wasn't too big of a problem.. I heard them a couple of times....seemed like they had good chemistry together.. As for the current teams...they all need to be dumped or need to be revamped..... J.R. and King must go......if they must keep J.R. he needs someone like Heyman teaming up with him...

Or the 3 team of.... Bobby Heenan...Eric Bischoff....and that over dude who had that dog with him... I'm a big fan of a 3 man commentary team.....

Mae Young's baby aside... on the whole, that was such a good period of storytelling for WWE, and the matches were also pretty dang good. I wish he'd never left *cries* the storylines started breaking down right after he left. By the time the post WM period of 2001 started, everything reached suckage. Yep, he was a very good creative director....everything was very organized...of course he did have some faults.....Mae Young having a baby was one of them.....but the stuff he did accomplish overshadows that... I'm sure McMahon and Kreski are on very good terms....

Both of you guys are wrong it was Chris Kreski who delivered Mae Young's baby.....I had a link to the story awhile back...and I will try to find it.. And a few corrections.. All the storylines through late 99 til September 2000 were scripted and booked by Chris Kreski, he was the "creative supervisor" of WWE which is now known as "creative director" , he was reported having a seven figure deal with WWE, in other words a big ass contract... The creative team was all Hollywood team which included Tony Blancha(co wrote most of the storylines with Kreski, and also left with him)...Brian Gerwitz was added to this all Hollywood team 2 or 3 months after Kreski was there and was responsible for most of the backstage skits and his main role was writing stuff for The Rock....I forgot the other 2 Hollywood guys that were on the creative team of 2000.... Brian Gerwitz is the only writer left from that team.....and the funny thing is that the whole team left when Kreski left...besides Gerwitz...maybe a feud between Gerwitz and Kreski was developing backstage??? Because its kind funny that immediately when Kreski was gone and Steph got the job, Gerwitz was pretty much 2nd in charge.. BTW....Anyone who believes Gerwitz was responsible for the Triple H...Steph...and Kurt storyline is crazy......becuz if he was....well just look at RAW..

Yes, he's still in charge....but she is the creative director of the booking team...she appoints the people she wants on her team...wouldn't it be odd for Vince to override her decision when she is the one basically running the department, and the one that has to deal with the person she can't get along with???

Actually it is catching on a little bit... I know when it was first renamed some still referred to it as WWF....but I do notice in magazines when they mention wrestling...they say WWF...errr I mean WWE...... It will take time...once WWE hits mainstream again...the public will catch on....its only been 2 years since the company changed its name....you gotta remember the name WWF has 24 years behind it......and I'm surprised that the new name is catching up so fast with some people...

I guess it will end up in the P2P peeps hands....whenver it is released... Wouldn't it be funny if this tape is the most downloaded thing on the net...once its uploaded to P2P services like Kazaa and the rest of them...

After the creative shuffle in late 2000...Shane also joined the new creative team lead by Stephanie...according to Steph(from the Howard Stern show)..."he left the creative team"....rumors say it was politics...the "Triple H effect"....who knows!!!!....He wrote most of the angles that included himself....he did a "ok" job with pushing Booker T. in 2001...
