The Fightin' Hebrew select first round pick Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirk Nowitzki's running mate: PG Jason Terry
-
Alright, I'm in, got it figured out.
-
Oregon has great team speed. Running back? Jonathon Stewart clocked his 40 in the 4.3's. Quarterback? Dennis Dixon is extremely fast and has the ability to turn on the jets when he needs to. The receivers are fast too, including world class track athlete Jordan Kent. Plus, that spread offense has been giving people fits. Its going to be a good game though, I'm looking forward to watching.

PFFFT, YEAH RIGHT.
-
Is one of them The Fightin' Hebrews
-
I'm taking Nowitzki. Oops, I mean

I'm in as Fightin' Hebrews

I think you're over-reacting about Cal a little bit. They had a good game against a porous ASU defense, but 12th? I'd keep them behind Georgia.
-
Awesome. Nothing easy about Montana.
-
Calvin Johnson is gonna have to start catching more balls if he wants to go to the ceremony. I think it might be tough for Johnson because of all the attention defenses pay to him. He might be the most physically gifted athlete in all of college football, though, the guy is a freak.

You don't think the voters would be hesitant to give it to ANOTHER Southern Cal guy? I think John David Booty would have to put up the best stats by a decent amount to get the Heisman, he doesn't really have any history in the public eye. When someone says John David Booty to me, the first thing I think is "Its too bad about that last name" but the second thing I think is "Guy who greyshirted at USC only to watch Matt Leinart put a stranglehold on the starting job." On the other hand, its not like Carson Palmer or Matt Leinart had much Heisman steam going into their Heisman years. It really feels like theres no heir to the throne this year. The big names all have reasons why not, as opposed to reasons why. Peterson isn't flashy, hes more Larry Johnson than Reggie Bush. Leena covered Troy Smith. Slaton is a sophomore. Chris Leak has gone through so many systems that he hasn't really built up any steam. Quinn already did a bad job in a big game.

Hey we beat a Div I-A squad! My quarterback from high school ended up playing most of the Cal game. He did pretty good, too. I was hoping PSU would somehow find a way to beat Cal... because what kind of name is Ayoob for a quarterback?
-
Is Penn States defense fast enough to contain Ted Ginn? I mean, noones defense is fast enough to contain Ted Ginn, but I think hes gonna be able to run all over them. Troy Smith has a sweet ride, and hes gonna get that deep ball to Ginn pretty much at will. Speaking of Troy Smith, hes getting a lot of buzz as the leading Heisman candidate. Maybe its because of the glut of candidates we've had in the last few years, but it feels like kind of a weak stock of candidates. Adrian Peterson, Chris Leak and Brady Quinn were really the only big names going into this season... I guess Troy Smith too, but he was kind of a dark horse. Quinn might have fucked it up already, and Leak isn't really doing anything breathtaking. Hes got a sweet ride and all, but so do a lot of quarterbacks. In my opinion, Adrian Peterson is gonna run all over the Big-12 and end up getting it. Who does everybody else see getting the Heisman?

I swear to god they drag guys off the street for that QB position. If you're not a Tech fan then every year you're like "who the fuck is this guy? And why did he just throw for 50,000 yards and 500 TDs in one season?" Um, noone could throw for 50,000 yards and 500 TDs in one season. Well, maybe Rhett Bomar could. Hes got a sweet ride. More trolling. Your signature is trolling and then you brought up Bomar for no reason because you knew it would draw a reaction for me thus making it trolling after alfdogg told you to stop trolling me. I'm not trolling, I'm just being silly. I'm just that kind of guy, I like joshing. But if theres one thing I like more than joshing, its Rhett Bomar. I really think, under the right system, he could probably throw for 50,000 yards. Given, he probably couldn't do it one season, but... and I'm being completely serious here, what does Dan Marino have that Rhett Bomar doesnt? He throws the ball really well, which, here in Oregon, we call "a sweet ride." So I'm not trolling, I'm just saying Rhett Bomar has a sweet ride. Anyway, the Oregon-Oklahoma game happened last week, so back on track here... I think Cal-ASU is gonna be a shoot-out. I just don't think ASU has the defense to stop Marshawn Lynch, and as good as that Cal d-line is, I think ASU is gonna be able to air it out a little bit.

Could Buffalo get beat so bad that they just cease to exist? I think we might see someone get killed on the field.
-
If you don't want the national media to overlook you, go out and do something. The Jags did something and they're getting plenty of attention. The same thing goes for snipers who feel like they're being overlooked by the national media.

Woops, double post.

Did you watch the TCU game? Because if you did I could easily see how you'd get that impression. I didn't catch that one. Maybe its because Texas Tech didn't really enter my mind until they hired Bobby Knight so I think of it as a basketball school... but like, a shitty basketball school. And theres so much shit it spilled into the football coach's office.
-
I don't know what it is about Texas Tech... they barely even seem like a legit program to me. I know they've got a good squad that puts up lots of points, I just can't get this stigma about them out of my head. I have no real factual basis for this, but they just seem like a paper tiger to me.

I'll take an open spot. Also Nick says he is in but his computer is broken.

I've got no issue with the payout, I've got an issue with Pac-10 #2 vs. Big-12 #3. I don't care if the bowl is on New Years, I don't care if the bowls in San Diego, I just don't want to count on Oklahoma having a down year just so Pac-10 #2 can play a marquee opponent.
-
Both Oregon and Oregon State were in the Fiesta Bowl in the last 7 years, and the fans traveled well. I can't really speak for the rest of the Pac-10, but I'm fairly certain there are enough alumni from the Oregon schools to represent their teams well. I think the Pac-10 needs to have their #2 play someone else's #2, part of being regarded as a major conference is carrying yourself as a major conference. I don't even care what bowl it is, hell, make the Las Vegas Bowl Pac-10 #2 vs. Big East #2 or even Big-10 #2. If you can't get your fans to travel to Las Vegas to see a bowl, then you're probably BYU. I know theres probably a lot going on underneath the surface moneywise that would keep this from happening, but I'd still like to see it.

Of course, if you also entered the three years prior to 2004, you would get the same numbers as 2001-03. And each of those years he was playing for an arbitration award, so you can't say there was not a monetary incentive. The "contract theory" is a myth. So you're telling me its the roids.
