    Will Somebody Slap This Man

Most of you guys can't see the forest for the trees. Moore is an extremist, no-doubt, and he uses extreme images to convey his ideas - but you need to be a little extreme to get people to pay attention in this day and age. The man's ideas are solid. You have to let go of any presumptions and look at Iraq right now. We go to war based on the idea that Sadaam has WMDs and we don't find shit once we get there. I KNOW Sadaam is a rotten bastard, and his sons may have been even worse and I'm glad they're dead now but over 700 American soldiers are dead now too. HALF that many died in the first Iraqi conflict and half of THOSE were from friendly fire. I wouldn't say Michael Moore is pulling a Fonda, seeing as how she went to North Vietnam and sat on a fucking cannon and all Moore is doing is offering a dissenting opinion. If we come up with a solid plan, one that the Iraqis are heavily involved in forming, I'm all for us winning this war. Hindsight may show that it was all worth it, however, with the way things are going right now, it doesn't look very likely. If we keep up this limbo, do-nothing pace in Iraq I hope we DO lose this war and I hope we lose it tomorrow. If you really love and support the people who are in Iraq (Not Washington D.C.) I think it makes more sense to want them home. It will be interesting to see his next movie, because if nothing else, they're entertaining documentaries.

Black College Women Take Aim at Rappers

Pretty much all music is about sex one way or another (except that "I Wanna Sex You Up" song, that song is about share cropping in rural Maryland in the mid 1800s.) The only thing that these videos are doing right now is cutting through the bull. Black music in America is especially steeped in sexual messages. The difference is that the swing and jazz musicians had to communicate it through innuendo and double entendres. If these girls don't like the videos, fine, but spread that message by embracing it, spreading it to your family and friends, and hope it takes off from there. They need to stop this censorship nonsense, find comfort in the fact that these black artists are saying and showing things on TV that would get them killed in much of a America 100 years ago, if not 50. Free speech isn't limited to the tasteful.

    Speakerboxx/Love Below

Speaking as a really big Hip-Hop fan, I gotta go with Speakerboxx. Andre is, in my opinion, a better rapper, but thats just what his album is lacking - rap. People tout The Love Below as a revolutionary masterwork but the album certainly isn't revolutionary, and its far from a masterwork. Its like saying Elvis was the first guy to do Rock and Roll. The Love Below has a "Happy Hardcore" version of 'My Favorite Things' from The Sound of Music, a song that contains the words "Poo-Poo" in the chorus and Andre crooning with Norah Jones about "Taking off your cool." The Love Below is certainly different from the norm in rap, but different doesn't mean good. It definitely has some enjoyable tracks in "Behold a Lady," "A Day in the Life of Benjamin Andre" and "Hey Ya" and apparently "Dracula's Wedding" (I hate that track), but I certainly wouldn't call it better than Speakerboxxx. I find something that I like every time I listen to it. It flows well, has some great beats, it was featured in MADDEN, it features some other good rappers (Jay-Z, Killer Mike, etc.) and most importantly, it sounds like Outkast - and THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH SOUNDING LIKE OUTKAST. But thats just my take on it.
