Every once in awhile, somebody tries to sell the Ark of the Covenant. I always find that amusing. Then there was the guy who was selling off his deceased father's belongings...a glass eye, some loose change and a set of false teeth. He called it an estate sale.

My favorite "song part" (that sounds awkward, but whatever) is the end of The Hip's Grace Too. Surround sound makes it flow right through your body and gives you tinglies. Neatness.

I'm clumsy as hell, so I've done everything from drenching a child with dirty dishwater to starting a small grease fire. Though, my fondest memory wasn't even an accident at all, but rather a temper tantrum gone out of control. See, I merchandise milk, and trying to get the second level of 2Ls sit properly on top of the first can be highly agitating at times because they like to fall over. By the 50th time you've done that in a day, it tends to get on one's nerves. So, this one day, I sorta, kinda, maybe lost my patience a little and threw a particularly misbehaving carton across the store. It made me feel better. That is, until I saw it whacking an old lady in the shins and milk splattering everywhere. I got in trouble for that.

Anyone can be a federal party. All you have to do is run at least 50 candidates in a federal election. As Quebec has 75 ridings, the Bloc more than meets this requirement. The Bloc follows in the parliamentary tradition of the Scottish Nationalist Party in the UK, which has been campaigning for independence for Scotland for 70 years. Oh no, I got the technical part of it. And it technically sucks, by the way. What I meant was more the contradiction between the concept of "federal" (implying that it pertains to all of the country; the federation) and the ideology of the Bloc (which is to become sovereign from the rest of Canada). At times, The Bloc's actions almost smack of treason, and our method of electing officials supports its existence. Tis confusing to me.

Indeed. That, and Team Canada's double gold (men & women) at the 2002 Winter Olympics. That crazy loonie.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but while there's a decent amount of Canadians from across the country rounded up in one place, can somebody please explain to me how the Bloc can be a *federal* party when they flat-out admit to having no interest in any issue that doesn't involve Quebec or even pretend to have representatives who run in any of the other 9 provinces or 3 territories?? Nobody's ever been able to give me a sufficient answer on that.

It is Sean Yseult, her real name is Shauna Reynolds or something like that. Last thing I read about her was that she was co-owning some bar and playing in a band called Rock City Morgue.

Sometimes, I bounce around to 80's new wave stuff like Duran Duran and Platinum Blonde. It's shameful.

Sleep? Who needs sleep?! Bah! Drink until your liver cries.

I have decided that all the SITs (lead by Andrew~!) swooped down behind Angel and the gang and much demon ass was kicked. Shhh, don't ruin it for me.

Damn straight. Although, I do have a soft spot for Guy Lafleur.

Think it's black now, but yeah, wrongly short in length.

As I understand it, the way the refugee statutes are set up in Canada, everyone requesting asylum must be given some kind of formal review, regardless of whether their case is seemingly valid or baseless. That way everybody gets a fair kick at the can, so to speak. It's just procedure, and I doubt it will result in those two soldiers being allowed to stay here. You have to take into account that Prime Minister Martin is only an interim PM, and therefore he is trying desperately to not rock the boat in this pre-election period. Also, with the Alliance and Progressive Conservative parties combining into one, the Liberals face some stiff competition (the Alliance Party was strong out West and the Conservatives had a sizable following in the East) whenever Martin gets enough balls to actually call an election. In the meantime, Martin is walking this fine line between trying to hold onto Chretien faithful and striking out on his own. Because ultimately, the buck stops with him, doing something as controversial as granting asylum to two weak-kneed morons won't help his cause in the least. And that is what leads me to believe your deserters will be returning home at some point or another. Mind you, with the lackadaisical approach the Canadian government takes to most things, it could be awhile.

As far as I know, she's never publicly said one way or the other. When asked, she usually says something to the effect of wanting people to appreciate her music, not her sexuality. Although, she is a strong supporter of gay and lesbian causes 'n whatnot.

Weirdest thing you've found in a library book or
elite replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in General Chat
I've never found anything *in* a library book. But during my freshmen year of university, I rented a room in one of those big rooming houses/buildings that are usually filled with college students and lonely, social rejects that are in their mid 40's and still talk to their mothers at least 3 times a day, whether she's still alive or not. Anyway, one day, I was trying to scrape a paint blotch off the floor and I noticed that one of the floor boards were loose. I pulled it up and found 6 books from another local school hidden inside. I didn't know what I should do with them, so I just put them back and never mentioned it to anyone. Seemed pretty odd, though. -
And in watching Buffy last night, I really noticed how decidedly younger David looks... and vampires aren't supposed to age. So, as much as it sucks, I guess they have to end Angel before they're hauling out the soft lights and trying to fill in the wrinkles around David's eyes with embalmer's wax.

Whatever they come up with, I assume it will involve more washed-up movie actors trying to revive their careers on the small screen. Goodie.
