WWF @ Tucson, AZ - Convention Center - May 28, 1991 WWF Superstars - 6/15/91: Earthquake & WWF Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys defeated Tugboat & the Bushwhackers when Tugboat turned on his teammates, allowing Jerry Sags to pin Butch They never really broke up. I think Earthquake left in January 93 then Typhoon stuck around for a few months before doing the same. When Earthquake left again in the spring of 94 ("at the hands of Yoko and Crush"), Typhoon came back to attempt to gain revenge on Yoko. ...So basically he was monster heel fodder. Did some jobs to Diesel as well in 94. an update to that match Graham, which I emailed you about a few days ago WWF @ Tucson, AZ - Convention Center - May 28, 1991 WWF Superstars taping: 6/15/91: Earthquake & WWF Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Tugboat & the Bushwhackers at 4:05 when Earthquake pinned Luke with a sit-down splash after Tugboat attacked both of his teammates; after the match Tugboat embraced with his new friends (Tugboat continued wrestling under this gimmick until the bout was televised)

was the match definitely referred to as a "Royal Rumble"? Because they were still planning on calling the first Royal Rumble event the "Rumble Royal" until mid-January and then changed it with no explanation
-
I read this on another board, and don't know if this is correct or not, but apparently the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young are guests on next Monday's show. This CANNOT be true can it? EDIT: I just looked on the NBC website and apparently it is true, they are billed as "The Fabulous Moolah & Mae Young - 80 & 81 year old wrestlers" http://www.nbc.com/nbc/The_Tonight_Show_wi...ay_Leno/guests/

just wondering but how old are Triple H, the Undertaker, Rikishi and Booker T? Oh and Sable!

About Jimmy Hart: Gorilla: How are you and that little weasel doing? Not weasel, pip squeak you called him Heenan: You mean... I mean, who do you mean? Gorilla: the Colonel Heenan: I never called him... Gorilla: You called him a runt too, didn't you? Heenan: I did not! Gorilla: Yeah, I think I had that marked down in my book somewhere Heenan: Well if he's making remarks about me, then I'll have to retaliate Gorilla: Well, he only referred to you as the Weasel, that's all Heenan: That little shrimp said that! Gorilla: Yes. Oh Shrimp! There's another one!

probably because they wanted to see the match, and not hear a speech from someone telling them something they already know! What's more exciting - watchign a Royal Rumble match or listening to Jack Tunney make a speech?
-
Just found this on that website/group, that Graham mentioned, which might help you with some TV locations http://groups.google.com/groups?q=wcw+worl...sky.net&rnum=24

pretty sure none of them did. The only other one I can think of right now is Bad News Brown who had some vignettes before his debut

i have several more WCW World Wide results but I don't know if you want me to post them or not because I don't know what date they were recorded or what town they are in. Does anyone have some PWI results which state the locations? I only knew the one I posted before because of the Six man Tag title change, and so I knew the location and when it was recorded. What I did was look fast forward through my two 8 hour tapes I have (so far) of World Wide and noted which episodes were recorded at teh same locations, but what seems strange is that they are in a new arena nearly every week, and only sometimes is there two episodes recorded at one taping
-
I will edit this post and add more details to it later, when I watch the tapes I have, this is just from the match listings I wrote down August 5, 1991 - St. Joseph, Missouri WCW World Wide taping: 8/24/91: Firebreaker Chip & Todd Champion defeated Chris Sullivan & Steve Estes Oz defeated Scott Sandlin Rick Steiner & Bill Kazmyer defeated Jim Boss & Sam Cody Dustin Rhodes, Big Josh & Z-Man defeated WCW Six-Man Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Freebirds & Badstreet to win the titles Ron Simmons defeated Russell Sapp WCW Light Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Richard Morton vs. Johnny Rich 8/31/91: Johnny B. the last Warrior/Roberts skit aired I think 9 days before SummerSlam. Roberts was not at the bachelor party at all, I just watched that recently
-
he made one televised appearance as the Dingo Warrior at the Boston Garden show on 8/15/87 against Barry Horowitz. There's a chance this may have aired on Prime Time as well, but I have the match from an episode of International Wrestling Challenge in Australia so I don't know On Wrestling Challenge on 10/18/87 Gorilla Monsoon simply said an "exciting newcomer to the WWF, coming to you next week - the Ultimate Warrior" He debuted against Terry Gibbs on 10/25, and had no entrance music, and no running to the ring. He was then in the Battle Royal on Superstars the week after

I just got the Hulkamania 2 video today (which is quite good btw) but at the end they announced the next 3 videos to be released these were - History of the IC Title, Best of the WWF Volume 11 and the JUNK YARD DOG. Anyone know why they changed their minds at the last minute and decided to release the Hart Foundation video instead? The match previewed was JYD & Andre The Giant vs. Terry Funk, Hoss Funk & Jimmy Hart in a handicap match from Toronto which I would have loved to of seen but oh well.

Gorilla Monsoon & Superstar Billy Graham

someone posted it on the Kayfabe Memories message board, so I thought I would steal it and post it here! Heres an answer to a question I think people might eventually ask. Why Danny Davis was reinstated as a ref and when? Well I was watch PTW 5-15-89 yesterday and he is there during a Bret Hart/Jobber match and Monsoon and Heenan are doing commentary so I guess the match is from Challenge. Anyways Davis is ref, and Monsoon makes a comment that he has been reinstated and is being watched like a hawk by WWF President Jack Tunney. This probably was his return as a ref since his last match wrestling was around March or April 89.

what is the maximum weight to be a cruiserweight? Didn't they increase it to 230 pounds? I can't remember what Matt Hardy was billed as when he was Cruiserweight champ But Chavo Sr. must be at least 240 or 250! Raw (again) sounds a million times better this week
-
Davis was the ref for the Savage/Santana IC Title change, but then never refereed another match for months. I believe it was either late Spring or early Summer when he started refereeing on a regular basis. He was refereeing one match at least every week on Challenge and Superstars and was always getting bashed on commentary by either Vince and Bruno or by Gorilla with Jesse and Heenan always sticking up for him. As time went on his refereeing got worse and he was obviously favouring the heels or doing whatever he could to help jobbers against faces. Even at house shows on the promotional ads they would announce a certain match to take place and would say Danny Davis is going to be the referee! Also, its worth pointing out Davis mostly seemed to be a referee on teh TV shows and not too many house shows, and he was still competing as Mr. X on several house shows in the fall of 86 and probably later
-
I can give information WCW World Wide shows from 8/91 until 92 (the show currently airs weekly in the UK), but they never announce the location. I guess PWI announced all the locations in their magazines. The show is currently about to go into 2/92. I can also give information on times and finishes for all the matches that have aired

Savage was still bashing the Ultimate Warrior on commetnary as much as he could on commentary, just because Piper was giving him advice on proposing didn't make him a face. Savage also hosted several episodes of All American Wrestling with Mean Gene in August and was definitely still a heel then. Savage just gradually turned face over time, and was sort of like Jerry Lawler does now, talking good and bad things about both heels and faces. I have 2 or 3 episodes of Superstars from August so I will re watch them and check what happens and I will even quote some of the things said by Savage. Savage/Piper/Vince were a face commentary trio I would say for only 3 or 4 months because Perfect was announcing with Vince in December
-
i think Beefcake was still wrestling non televised matches at TV tapings and at house shows until around June teaming with Hogan in most, if not all of them Also Randy Savage was playing a heel on commentary until around SummerSlam and then basically became a face at the wedding

Mania 4 has just been re-released in the UK on DVD along with the Coliseum version of Mania 3 (which is quite edited) and they thankfully put the Hogan/Andre match together as one, which was good. Just a shame the complete version of Mania 3 was never released in the UK as we never got the same boxset released in the U.S
