    The Old School questions thread

Are there any differences between the Coliseum Video version of WrestleMania 4 (double box from 1988) and the actual PPV version? E.G by that I mean is there anything missing from the Coliseum version, because when watching it appears nothing is edited except when going to the interval after the Warrior/Hercules match plus the Coliseum version includes quite a few bonus interviews

    The Old School questions thread

when was Randy Savage's last WWF apeparance on Monday Night Raw? I'm guessing he was going to host the Survivor Series with Vince McMahon in 94, but he probably left just before then, and Gorilla replaced him. According to the Monday Night War DVD, he was on WCW Saturday Night on either 12/3/94 or 12/10/94 (can't quite remember which), but weren't these taped weeks in advance? Also Savage was on the cover of the December 1994 WWF Magazine wasn't he? Did he do an interview with the Magazine this month of was it the WWF just bashing Savage for leaving?

    The Old School questions thread

anyone know the location of this match on Best of the WWF Volume 19? Andre the Giant & Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts & Jim Duggan I have never seen the match in question, but just wondered when exactly the match took place. From what I have read it is at a Wrestling Challenge taping, and I guess it is from the Spring/Summer of 1988 when these 4 were feuding

    Raw ratings takes a dive

strange, because I am pretty sure that when there is a cage match on, then the ratings jump up a bit. Didn't Goldberg/ Christian draw highly? and I'm sure I remember Austin vs. Y2J in a cage drawing a high rating (day after Vengeance '01 I think?)
  6. Silvervision never cut anything from videos, they released the same versions that were released in the U.S, so it was the WWF or Coliseum Video who edited them. The only video Silver Vision released which wasn't the same as the U.S. version was SummerSlam 88, as Silver Vision released an exact copy of the PPV version and the U.S. version was only 2 hours and edited The WrestleMania 1 and 2 DVDs are only the 2 hour versions that were edited, thats why I am not buying them The Survivor Series DVDs will probably be released next as they have been reclassified to be released again, but again the first 2 Survivor Series will only be the 2 hour edited versions

i dont really remember them been referred to as the U.S Express at all, I know Danny Spivey and Mike Rotundo were for their run as a tag team in 1986 and early 87

    Oldschool commentary Hilarity

Jesse, Gorilla and Uecker in the midget match at Mania 3 - hilarious!

    Oh shit, oh shit

the DVDs are just the exact same versions as the Coliseum Videos, but they are all fantastic quality plus the SummerSlam 88 version that was released in the UK for basically the same as the PPV version (including all promos for Survivor Series and the Leonard/Lalonde boxing match plus a TEN MINUTE interview with both of them) Apparently the version in the U.S was heavily edited. Also Silvervision have listed the Mountie/Koko B Ware match to be on the DVD which I am sure must be wrong as that wasn't on the home video version, so if it is on they must have specifically asked for the match from WWE which I doubt
  10. i am sure Silver Vision are wrong with saying the Mounite vs. Koko B Ware match is on, it wasnt released on the home video, and the DVDs are just exact copies of the old Coliseum videos

    The Old School questions thread

I have heard Jim Ross talk about several times how he was fired twice in the WWF. Anyone know exactly when this happened (eg about what month and year) and also if known why he was fired?

    The Old School questions thread

Just been watching WCW Classics today in the UK (another fantastic show with Austin vs Steamboat in a 10-minute draw, todays show was 1/18/92) and I was wondering if anyone could post the locations for all the tapings of World Wide Wrestling from July 91 until say March 1992. I think they used to be printed in a magazine with the WWF TV taping results but I don't know. I could write up a list of matches if they don't specify which taping is for World Wide and whatever the other WCW shows were. Thanks to anyone who can help!

  14. the fancam that is around is from Long Island, NY I think. They also had 3 others in Philly, the Meadowlands and in LA. I think Bret Hart & Ric Flair had one in Boston in 93 as well, and there was one in Boston between the Rockers and Rougeaus in 89. I dont think any were taped by the WWF themselves though

    any tape traders from UK?

ok well i will be interested in trading with you anyway, although I am not trading for a while now until mid-June (due to College) so I will probably get back in touch with you then

    any tape traders from UK?

Just wondering if there are any tape traders from the UK on this board, and if anyone has a lot of WWF stuff from the 80's and 90's. I will post my list of tapes I have if anyone wants to look.

    any tape traders from UK?

Main event matches at TV tapings

Just wondering, in the dark matches are the WWF still filming these matches at ringside, or are these definitely exclusives for the fans (unless you had an illegal handheld!)

WWE Hall of Fame DVD Extras

i would say the Bruno/Graham match will be Graham's title win in Baltimore because that match was taped, only seems logical it would be that. Muraco's will probably be his title win Jesse/Backlund was on History of WWF Title video, but who knows it may be a different match I assume Slaughter and Patterson provide their own alternate commentary for their match? Studd and Bundy could possibly be their cage match or something, they probably had several matches recorded at the house shows Any Valetine/Santana match they show would be great, most likely one in MSG JYD vs Race could be from SNME, and I also have a match from Toronto of those, so who knows? As there is no Bobby Heenan match, hopefully lots of classic Heenan footage from Prime Time or something is shown (they showed a brief clip of Heenan and Gorilla on Prime Time in the HOF clip at Mania, I think from 6/87 when Heenan "injured" his neck) Also the cover for the DVD looked brilliant as well

    Question about two WWF DVDs

    they are exactly the same
  21. anyone know if Bruno's final match recorded in front of cameras in Houston, TX at the Paul Boesch Retirement Show (the day before the previously mentioned match in Baltimore) aired in the U.S, on Prime Time or something? It was shown on International Challenge in MAY or JUNE 1988, which was months after Bruno had already left the company which seems quite strange to me
  22. actually this match was televised. I know for a fact it was on th International Wrestling Challenge programme which aired in several countries such as England and Australia. It may not have aired in the U.S though

The WWE news thread for 5/01

I didn't catch Raw until today, but I saw SmackDown when it aired Saturday and they showed the kiss up close in the Raw Rebound, and probably will in the U.S. Bottom Line show version that airs Tuesday, which I think Marc Loyd still hosts? new guy Todd (don't call me Pettengill) Grisham hosts the UK edited version

    Mean Gene Bloopers

i have that little incident on tape, hilarious, especially Jesse when they cut back to him and Tony for about 20 seconds and then return to Okerlund

    The Old School questions thread

In 91, Schiavone announced World Wide with several people. I know Gordon Solie and the guy who was Uncle Zebekiah in the WWF and then with Magnum T.A Schiavone has been announcing solo for the last 3 months on the Classics show (Oct '91 - Jan '92) They also regularly show clips from another WCW programme (WCW Main Event perhaps?) and Jim Ross is doing solo commentary on there and has been on all clips shown in the last few months Also a question I wanted to know, who is the WCW ring announcer who WWE can't show on their home video/dvd releases? I know its not Gary Michael Cappetta, its someone else. Also anyone know why they aren't allowed to show this ring announcer? They always start at the very beginning of the match and cut away straight at the end eg on Monday Night War and Rey Mysterio DVDs
