I'm sure I remember reading it was a re-release of one of those Columbia House tapes or something, and so wasn't originally a Coliseum Video tape. I could easily be wrong though
-
I recently recieved basically this first 12 weeks of Raws/Smackdowns/Heats from 2000 and I agree this era I fell is truly amazing. So far I'm up to around No Way Out and pretty much everything is fantastic to watch. The Hardcore division, the Radicalz, DX / McMahon-Helmsley era, Cactus Jack, Rock vs Big Show feud etc

anyone have that to download? I never saw it as they edited off the UK broadcast

I recieved this today from Highspots, anyone else get it yet? Looks awesome from the quick look I've had

On video openings before PPVs start, and when showing a history video to show why a certain match is happening, I was wondering if anyone had a list of songs WWF/E have used for them? Hopefully you understand what I mean as I'm sure these are not WWF/E-produced songs. One I'm just thinking of now is the one used at KOTR 96 and also hyping the HHH/Cactus Jack Hell in a Cell match for No Way Out 2000 (I know this songs been used lots of other times too but these are the main examples I can think of) Thanks for anyone who can help

his first appearance as Akeem was kind of unexpected, Mean Gene was invited to "deepest darkest Africa" by Slick where a transformation took place. Its quite a strange sight, and then the next week he was wrestling as Akeem. Apparently it was all a rib on Dusty Rhodes - the American Dream - the African Dream (as was Virgil)

Anyone else miss the "good old days" of 2000?
landy1987 replied to Jingus's topic in General Wrestling
I just recieved this first 12 weeks of Raws, Smackdowns and Heats from 2000, and from what I have watched these are really excellent. (Back then I only saw the occasional WWF TV shows and so some of this is new to me) -
http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WWE1119 This is a 2-disc set. History's most feared tag team returns... Silvervision in the UK has started pre-orders too, and say a 3-disc set too
-
there was another Warrior tape in 1990 with these matches: vs. Andre The Giant vs. Haku vs. jobber (Bob Emery i think?) vs. Heenan (weasel suit) vs. Rude plus there was a Brother Love Show on there somewhere. Also quick question, are WrestleMania 21 and the Hall of Fame DVD going to be released in May then? as the lists only starts from June.

Highlights include: Hall of Fame focuses on the Fabulous Moolah with these matches: The 1987 Survivor Series Women's Match (great match) Fabulous Moolah & Kitty Adams vs. Joyce Grable & Vivian St. John (2/3 Falls from MSG 7/30/79) Fabulous Moolah vs. Wendi Richter (date is given as 5/21/84 but I'm guessing it the match from 7/23/84 on MTV) Plus the Women of WWF coliseum video from 1988 is included They are showing In Your House: Revenge of The Taker, Spring Stampede 1994 and AWA Wrestlerock 1986 In Specials they are showing several Coliseum videos (Piper's Greatest Hits) and recent Diva ones (also a Sunny Behind the Scenes show) Also, they are showing the entire NWA Crocket Cup from 1988 There's the usual ECW shows and Monday Night War shows plus TNT from 7/31/84 and 10/16/84 Plus Prime Time Wrestling from 6/23/86 - matches are from the 6/14 MSG show and from 6/30/86 with matches from several different MSG shows in 1986 The House Shows this time are: MSG 12/29/91 (including Flair vs. Hogan and I believe an fantastic Bret vs. DiBiase match) MSG 10/23/78 (with Backlund vs. Ladd and Graham vs. Bruno) And a super-rare house shows from Detroit 4/26/86 which i'm sure was never televised which includes the following matches: Corporal Kirchner vs. Iron Mike Sharpe Jake Roberts vs. Scott McGhee Bret Hart vs. Sivi Afi (I have this and its a good match) Tony Atlas vs. Hercules Hernandez George Steele vs. Jim Neidhart Tito Santana vs. Cowboy Bob Orton The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff vs. Killer Bees Hillbilly Jim vs. Adrian Adonis Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage The unfortunate thing about the Detroit show is it has the worst pair of commentators together which are Jack Reynolds & Ken Resnick
-
Best of WWF Volume 19 or 20 had a good Bret vs. DiBiase match and a good 16-man Battle Royal too plus Hogan vs. Rude.
-
I remember enjoying several Goldust/Steven Richards matches on Heat in 2003, and several mixed tags with Trish & Victoria too. I also remember a great match with Jericho & Hurricane in 2003 (just after Mania I believe)
-
didn't Flair clearly say "motherfucker" to the Rock during the WM20 match?
-
If only we had 24/7... Yeah, I remember everyone, from Bobby to the color commentators, saying "Harley Race is in the hospital at the hands of Hulk Hogan!" yep thats what he kept doing. they did the 10-bell salute with Heenan, Andre, Rude and Hercules and Heenan announced at the end that shortly he would announce the new King. (which was Haku seen as though they had nothing for him when Tama and the other very brief Islander High-Chief Afi were fired) My favourite WWF skits were anything with Heenan and Monsoon (even if it was just commentating a match, they were that good!!)

Video of Booker's Famous Quote to Hogan
landy1987 replied to Dimensions's topic in General Wrestling
"Fuck it!" If anybody has the clip of Mean Gene saying "Ah, fuck it!" please post it. If nobody has it, please work on getting it. I used to have an audio clip of it. Mene Gene: "Gentlemen, as you know, The Ultimate Warrior..." *something falls* Vince McMahon (background/off stage): "Nice work." Mene Gene: "Fuck it!" I have that interview on video tape, but I've never been able to audibly hear Vince speaking in the background.... -
Steele's in already...
-
thats the first time I've seen that entrance by the Shockmaster. When exactly did this take place and I presume it was on a Live PPV or Clash show then? Hilarious stuff!

Firstly, I'm not sure if the 93,000+ figure is correct or not, but I know on WWF TV shows throughout February and March 1987 they always said there would be 90,000+ fans at the arena (I'm sure they sometimes said 93,000+ as well) and so if they did jump the figure up a bit higher they had to use that amount as they had already gone out and said on TV the attendance figures which were expected. Before WrestleMania 8 however in 1992, on WWF TV before the show they said they were expecting over 70,000 people in attendance, and they never increased that actual figure from the 61,000 or whatever that was Quote from Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter - April 13, 1987: "Overall, the actual paid attendance at the Silverdome was reported to me as 90,873 which has to be an all-time record for pro wrestling anywhere in the world. The old record for North America was the 69,300 who paid to see the August 28, 1986 Toronto Exhibition Stadium card headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff. The live gate at the Silverdome of $1,599,000 also shattered the existing record of $837,000 (when translated into U.S. funds) for the Antonio Inoki vs. Leon Spinks and Akira Maeda vs. Don Nakaya Neilsen matches on October 9, 1986 at the Sumo Hall in Tokyo. The 163 closed-circuit sites produced approximately $5,170,000 in U.S. funds with an estimated audience at those sites of about 460,000 fans-- both of which are also all-time records for pro wrestling." I'm guessing Meltzer corrected himself at some point later then?

Tuesday Night Titans used to air on Friday? for the majority of its run, the show didn't actually air on a Tuesday, it was mostly either Fridays or Wednesdays (from 85-86 they rarely mentioned that the name was "Tuesday" Night Titans and would just call it TNT)
