This is pointless.

who wouldn't rather see Carlito than Cena as the top face? Hell, who wouldn't rather see ANYONE(besides Orton) than Cena as the top face? The people coming to the shows because Cena is the top draw? They might not perfer someone else. I know this wasn't directed at me, but anyhow I wasn't saying Carlito is a draw. Cena, love him or hate him, does draw a big gate no matter what. I'm just saying charachter/storyline wise...Carlito as a face is ok in my book.

Carlito as a face is growing on me as well. I think the fans are behind him for the most part as well.
-
Orton over Angle Umaga over Eugene(w/ appearances by Hacksaw/Doink/Kamala) Flair over Foley 2-0. (Foley beat Flair up afterwards, and Flair bled like a stuck pig)

I'm a Pens fan as well. It's nice to have a competent GM running things for once. Shero's possibilites are endless. He needs to try and squeeze the most out of what is there. I wouldn't mind #2 straight up for JJ from Carolina, nor would I mind #2 straight up for Weber from Nash, but i would try to get them to throw in Radulov... Or just stay put and take Toews... Should be a fun night...

I prefer Metallica's cover of Turn the Page to Bob Seger's.

Metallica Live Shit: Binge and Burge is a great live CD/DVD/VHS The Seattle concert from 88/89 is probably on of the best concerts they have ever performed.
-
Sabu vs Mamaluke.

Lita only has two shirts, and she is wearing the good one tonight.

Not this crap again.... *sigh*
-
It's just not the same w/out the Enter Sandman music.....meh.
-
I still mark for Dreamer. I just found my old Innovator of Violence t-shirt.

Lame. Just fucking lame.

Well, at this point there is no use going around in circles since we are in different ends of the spectrum here.

A lot of these things could be said about TNA and ROH. I know I'll get blasted by a lot of the people here by comparing the three, but it's true. Same small venues, wrestlers that worked their ass off and no mention of politics (save JJ). Just great wrestling. That's it. None of the crap that goes along with it in WWE. Only ECW did it about 10 years ago. They were the orginators.

I think your thinking of Tommy Dreamer vs Brian Lee. I can't remember the PPV but I do believe it is on the Bloodsport dvd Thanks, but I saw what you're talkin bout. He went through 3 tables. But I found what match I was thinkin of... It was Tommy Dreamer vs Prime Time in a scaffold match where the ring was filled with tables stacked 3 tables high.. It was at High Incident.. and wasn't on the Bloodsport DVD, which is weird... Anyone have video of it? It can be found on ECW Extreme Warfare Vol. 2 IIRC. That is correct. I still have that old VHS tape laying around somewhere.

I would go to that show just to see Mastadon.

I'll say this. There was a bigger change from AJFA to TBA then there was from TBA to Load. As far as Slayer goes, and I have much respect for them, they are the classic example of staying "true" to your roots and still putting out mediocre/crappy albums. As far as the new Metallica song goes, it needs work, and I think it will be cleaned up for the most part, but I dunno. I just think the people who are waiting for another Puppets or Justice or Lightning are setting themselves up for disappointment. Justice got a bit "over-technical" at times I agree, I think the band even admits as such today that the songs were them just tyring to show that they could play overly long/technical stuff. It still has some good stuff on it, and I love Blackened/Harvester of Sorrow/Frayed End of Sanity/Dyers Eve.
-
Justice was just as good as Puppets. Black Album = Meh. I loved Load, it was a different style, but it had Bleeding Me and Outlaw Torn, which are two of the best Metallica songs ever regardless of era. Reload was mostly fillers. St Anger = Crap.

Better quality version the Donington Show(Download Festival)... Still not soundboard quality by any means, but some of the lyrics changed and the song is a bit shorter.. http://www.hategrow.ho8.com/media/newmetsong.mp3

Classic: yes. But better than anything else at that time? Ehhhh...Maiden's owned Metallica in regards to great albums their entire career. And everything Metallica did was one-up'd by either Slayer or Megadeth. For pure speed and aggression? Slayer murders Metallica. Reign in Blood eats Master of Puppets for breakfast, and Slayer pits are a riot compared to a Metallica pit that involves a few shoves and some headbanging. For musical precision and instrumentation? Dave Mustaine has 'em beat by himself. Megadeth may not have been as popular as Metallica, but Metallica wouldn't have been the same if it weren't for Dave heavily, HEAVILY influencing their direction before James and Lars booted him. I agree fully. If Metallica had called it quits following Justice and just changed their name, maybe gotten rid of Kirk and Jason and gotten two new members, nobody would really have a problem. The best bands never last for much longer than 10 years initially, anyway. I'll just agree to disagree. I don't think anything touches what Metallica did from 83-88 (KEA thru Justice), by any band during that time period. Not Maiden, Not Megadeth, Not Slayer....

I think it will be cut down a good 2 or 3 minutes on the final version, at least I hope so. I still am waiting for a soundboard quality bootleg to fully judge even the version that is out now. All the boots I have, including the one I posted here, are from someone standing in the crowd holding up a recording device..lol Also 80's Metallica > anything else at that time. Anything up through Justice is classic. I do dig most of the newer stuff to though(St. Anger not included), just a different vibe and different type of music.

The Rock Am Ring show was a very good show. First show with Puppets in its entirety. I got a DVD rip from MTV over in Germany or wherever it was...great quality and a great show.

OAO Raw Thread- 12 June 2006
skullman80 replied to Prime Time Andrew Doyle's topic in The WWE Folder
Exactly and making it a 2/3 falls match makes it worse. Not when you have a nuclear crowd for it. The build will be nothing new for us smarks, it'll confuse the marks but come match time these two will mainipulate that crowd like they always do. Foley is a great heel and Flair is a great local face. It was the best place to pull this match off. I wouldn't count on any WWE crowd to be nuclear for a WWE show now. The crowds have been dead, and for good reason for the last few months.
