Billy King isn't getting fired anytime soon. Unfortunately in Ed Snider's(Flyers and Sixers owner) eyes, he's entered the same territory that Bobby Clarke is in, namely one of Snider's "adopted sons." Actually, Comcast owns the teams. Snider is the head of Comcast-Spectacor, the division of Comcast I believe that owns the Flyers and Sixers.

So NC State still hasn't found a coach yet. They've got to find one soon before the important recruiting weekends come up, they've already had Chris Wright, who's a top 25 recruit in the class of 2007, re-open his recruitment since Sendek left. -

I love going to college football and basketball games. I've been to a couple of Penn State games and they were a blast. Nothing beats watching Big 5 basketball games at the Palestra though, since the tickets are split 50-50 between the schools and it's a great environment, although I miss the streamers being thrown after the first basket. Phillies games used to be a bit boring at the Vet, but the new park is great because you can walk around and really enjoy the ambiance. Flyers games are fun, especially being down a couple of rows away from the ice when you can see everything up close. Eagles games I've kind of soured on going to, way too many drunks and fights breaking out, and you enjoy it less after a few visits. -

If he was going to be top 10, I could see him going. Not when he's likely a borderline 1st round pick. Another year at Nova will get him into the lottery. -

That's wrong. Cronin is the new head coach of Cincinnati. Corrected. Also, the only reason why the NC State Head Coaching Job is garnering so much press is because of what Calipari did and how the NC State and ACC faithful are surprised that he would be "stupid" enough to not take a job with the "Greastest Basketball Conference" in History. The Wolfpack feels wronged and Memphis may get completely "blackballed" by the Conference. And oh...RWC will love this one....Their Fans have put Jay Wright on their short list of replacements (I know. I couldn't stop laughing.). Hilarious stuff, ACC people can be so delusional at times. Jay Wright has basically said that Nova is his dream job, he was a big Nova fan as a kid and is married to a former Nova cheerleader. Why the hell would he leave a great situation where he contends for the Big East all of the time at Nova and basically is the best college basketball program in Philadelphia (yeah that's right St. Joe's and Temple people) to go to a program where he's basically 3rd or 4th fiddle in North Carolina and overshadowed by Coach K and Roy Williams? I'm not too worried about it, how the NCSU people ran Sendek off will make sure that no one outside of a mid-major coach or assistant coach will take that job. -

Over at Nova, the main issue is waiting to see when Kyle Lowry makes his decision of whether he's going in to the draft or not. If Lowry comes back and Curtis Sumpter is finally healthy, then the starting 5 would be: PG: Kyle Lowry, Jr. SG: Mike Nardi, Sr. SF: Dante Cunningham, So. PF: Curtis Sumpter, Sr. C: Will Sheridan, Sr. Bench: Shane Clark, So., Bilal Benn, So., Dwayne Anderson, So., Antonio Pena, Fr., Reggie Redding, Fr., Casiem Drummond, Fr. Not a bad team, could be a top 15 team in the preseason polls. They'll have a lot more size next year than they did last year, especially with Sumpter back and Pena and Drummond both being 6-8 or taller. -

Doesn't suprise me that Calipari turned them down, that job is extremely tough being in the same state with Duke and UNC. Thye're probably going to have to pluck a mid-major coach or an assistant from somewhere. -

Apparently, John Calipari may be taking the NC State job, he's been negotiating in Raleigh with NC State officials. -
Yeah, it's all there. Sid's paper tear, Flair in the sweater, Sid's hilarious promo afterwards... ok, I'm a bit lost. Why was Hogan annouced as the challanger but later it became Macho instead? I believe Hogan was contemplating retirement or something, so they went with Savage instead.

After all of that Drama, and he still goes to Temple. Wow...What a waste of time. But the A-10 is a leauge filled with WWE style Drama, so it fits. I guess the St. Joe's-Temple rivalry might cool down a bit now since Chaney isn't there anymore and Dunphy and Martelli are friendly. I still don't know how Dunphy will do at Temple considering it'll be the first time he has to recruit scholarship athletes, and Temple isn't exactly the best location in the world to get recruits to come to. -

Great thread, I always wanted to get my hands on a copy of Ricky Steamboat's last WCW theme. Any chance of anyone having a copy of Terry Taylor's NWA theme from late 1987? It's a guitar solo that I really like.

John Chaney - Won over 700 games, but never made it to the Final Four, with the 1988 Elite Eight loss against Duke being the worst out of the 5 losses in the regional finals. (1988, 1991, 1993, 1999, 2001) Interesting note on that game, Temple freshman and star shooter Mark Macon had a horrible game, with 6 to 8 airballs. Who was defending him in that game? None other than current 76ers GM Billy King.
