Well, looks like Florida is going to win this game. Games like these show that Nova really missed Sumpter this year, and why they need to bring some size in with the next couple of recruiting classes, which they are with next year's class. They'll be solid next year if Sumpter is healthy, the only position where there might be some iffiness is at the SF, but Shane Clark may be able to step up and play there. The starting 5 will be Nardi, Lowry, Sumpter, Sheridan, and whoever they choose for the SF, so they'll be more forward oriented and be able to deal with teams with size. Only thing is the St. Joseph's and Temple morons will be calling WIP tonight rubbing it in, despite neither of their schools getting anywhere close to the tournament. Joakim Noah is a damn good player, and I STILL can't believe UConn lost to George Mason.

At least they got to the Elite Eight, which is more than we can say for the almighty ACC. Florida is playing better than Nova right now, though neither are playing well. If Nova loses, they won't be the story of the day at least...UConn losing is.

Nova/UConn III would be a great draw for CBS. This will be a tough game for Nova today though, simply because I don't think this is the normal Donovan team that seems to fold in the NCAAs and Noah is quite impressive.

Hilarious ending to the Nova/BC game last night, considering the way Nova got screwed against UNC last year and for BC turning on the Big East the way they did. Karma's a real bitch huh?
-
Where's Iggy Vitale at? Thought they were going to embarass UConn huh? I thought this game was trouble for Duke if they had to play LSU. Way too much size, and what a way for Redick to end his college career with another crappy performance in the NCAAs.

Dick Vitale is looking for the nearest bridge to jump off right now.

I just got into Villanova today, they better beat the traitor school so they can impress me enough into going there next year...

Well at least the Colts have a clutch player now...

Oh you mean Skeletor, the Sixers' fans nickname for him... -

Some more notes from my trip to the games today: Rudy Gay's dunk in the first few minutes of the game was great, he's definitely going to be a star in the NBA. Nova and UConn brought a ton of people to the Wachovia Center today. Nova students who were there together had some funny chants, including the "Where's your laptop?" one at Marcus Williams during the UConn game. I'm really glad UK beat UAB in the first round because I got to see UK in person today, and with their traditions (fight song, singing "My Old Kentucky Home" at the end of the game) you can tell that they're a true basketball school. Mustafa Shakur and Marcus Williams(Arizona) really impressed me today. Arizona actually didn't have that many people there, maybe a section and that was it. -

If CBS has a sense of humor they'll send Packer to Washington DC where he'll have to do two games involving Witchita State and George Mason. -

Just got back from the Philadelphia games. Both games were good, although the officiating in the Nova/Zona game was absolutely atrocious. From my seat I caught Billy Packer oogling the Arizona cheerleaders three times during the game as well. Nova/Georgetown in the Elite Eight would absolutely fucking rock if it happens. -
I have a bad feeling that our fanbase will be adding another chapter into our long, storied history of incidents next year...

This debate begins and ends with Sam Cassell. -
ESPN will probably hype that game like the Duke/UNC game they did this year, multiplied by 500.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable meltdown from him next year or the year after, and considering how Bledsoe got into it with Keyshawn last year, he'll fire right back at Owens. The fun thing is that stuff will definitely be getting thrown at him at the Linc next year. Hopefully the game isn't in December with snow on the ground.
-
Let me predict the meltdown for next year. TO will run a bad route which leads to an interception. Parcells will call him over and tell him to get his head into the game...and that will be the end of that marriage.

One of my brackets is wrecked thanks to Kansas losing. I'm going to the Nova/Zona and UConn/UK games tomorrow which is going to be fun. -

Same with me and Ohio State. Got accepted there two years ago but couldn't go due to finances, though I still have a soft spot for them. Now I'm pulling for schools that I've been accepted/applying to, namely Nova, WVU, Mich State, and Syracuse, though the Cuse has already been eliminated. -
He's never really had a chance. He got killed behind the offensive line when Spurrier was in Washington, and Gibbs didn't give him an opportunity either, going for a veteran.

That Nova game was the absolute drizzling shits. Especially with Nova channeling 2004 St. Joe's and taking tons of bad 3s instead of driving to the hoop where they're successful. They can't act like they have never seen a matchup zone defense before because Temple plays that defense all of the time and they did pretty well against them. Allan Ray at least looked pretty good despite the injury last week. -

Nova is playing so lackadasical right now, they keep trying to take open 3s. -

I imagine Iowa people wouldn't be shedding many tears if Alford decided to leave for Indiana now. -

The San Diego State player pulled a Webber, and ironically enough his coach is Steve Fisher, who was also Webber's coach at Michigan. -

I have no idea how all of the "big time analysts" have them in the Final 4 or better. If Redick has an off night, the party's over. While I don't mind Duke, it would be hilarious to see them get bumped by a 16 seed just to see how Bilas, Dukie V, Digger et al would try and spin it. Vitale would likely go jump off the nearest bridge in Bristol...
