Maryland will probably win tomorrow, Al Skinner and BC are notorious for doing jackshit in postseason tournaments, other than the Big East tourney they won in 2001.

In the A-10, every lower seed won today. I'd look out for Xavier, for some reason they always come to play in the A-10 tourney. Part of me does want to see Temple win it though, just because facing Mardy Collins and the Temple matchup zone could be a tough chore for a 5 seed in the first round.

Saint Joseph's is up big on Saint Louis near the end of the first half. If St. Joe's wins this game, it'll be a Philly matchup for the right to go to the A-10 finals between St. Joe's and Temple.

Florida State definitely needs to win today against Wake, and maybe needs to beat NC State tomorrow as well to feel safe.

If Nova wins the tourney, they're going to get the #1 seed in the Washington D.C. regional. Syracuse is definitely in now.

GW can forget any shot at a 2 seed, they have lost to Temple.

Just mentioned on ESPN during the Big East tourney, they'll have more details later.

They'll still probably get in due to the win at Pitt last week, but they need to root for Bucknell and GW to get their auto-bids.

Bad day for Big East bubble teams not named Syracuse, Seton Hall lost to Rutgers.

Yeah I can't see Cuse winning tomorrow unless UConn just doesn't care thinking that they have the #1 seed overall alread locked up. Cincy will depend on what happens with the other tournaments. They should root for GW in their tournament because if GW gets upset, the A-10 will get 2 bids.

I miss when the Atlantic 10 tournament was at the Spectrum. It was fun to get cheap tickets for the Wednesday and Thursday full-day sessions.

Big East tourney starts tomorrow. Nearly all the games have implications since there are bubble teams, I also think the Georgetown/Notre Dame game could be a suprise for the Hoyas, since ND hasn't been blown out in Big East play all year and Georgetown seems like they're kind of down right now.

Am I not the only one who thinks Gonzaga will make another early exit this year? They've had a ton of close calls against teams in their conference which aren't ranked too high with regards to the RPI, and I don't think they'll get as many calls in the tournament as they do during their home games against WCC opponents. This may be old news, but there are rumblings that Mike Montgomery, the former Stanford coach and current Warriors coach, wants the IU job. He'd be a great hire considering how he did with the restrictions at Stanford, imagine what he could do with more freedom at IU.

I've watched a ton of Nova games this year, I really do hate those stretches where all they do is camp out on the perimeter and attempt 3s, basically the same thing St. Joseph's did 2 years ago. The first half of the St. Joe's game this year was especially ugly since they couldn't hit anything. Lowry is more of a slasher than Ray, Foye, and Nardi are, it'd be nice if he took more advantage of those skills. I can't see them losing in the first weekend since they're pretty much playing 2 home games in Philly. The regionals do worry me, especially if they draw a team like Texas, who despite not playing as well on the road did shut Nova down shooting-wise in the first meeting, or Pitt playing their usual game keeping the score in the 50s-60s, though they might see Pitt in the Big East tourney this week so they'll get a look at those defensive teams they may face in the NCAAs.

All of the contenders seem to have some sort of flaw this year. UConn may be the best of the bunch, but they can't go into the tournament thinking they can just coast through games or it may come back to haunt them. Nova has size issues, Will Sheridan isn't really a top-notch big man, Jason Fraser is pretty much immobile and Dante Cunningham is too inexperienced, they really miss Curtis Sumpter. Duke seems to be wearing down and lack a 3rd option behind Redick and Williams. I'm going to have to see who does the best in the conference tourneys before I make my pick of who I think will win the title. Speaking of Sumpter, he took the medical redshirt for this year, so he'll have one more year of eligibility. Nova should be pretty decent next year with Nardi and Lowry as the backcourt and Sumpter(if he can stay healthy) and Sheridan being quite the experienced frontcourt duo.

Krzyzewski deserves some of the blame for Duke's troubles as well. He's been playing with pretty much a 7-man rotation this year and they're really starting to wear down.

Probably no one thanks to a couple of top 10 teams losing this week. But the ACC tourney is going to be very important for them. If they win the conference tourney, they'll be fine for the NCAAs. But if they end up getting knocked out in their first or second game, they're really in big trouble.

Duke hasn't played very good basketball in the past 4 games, which might mean a drop of a few spots rather than one or two. They've picked a bad time to play their worst basketball. They didn't play well at all in the Temple and Georgia Tech wins, and then the FSU and UNC losses.

Hansborough is a fucking stud. I'd be suprised if he stays any longer than 2 years at UNC. Would Duke really only have 3 losses if they played in the Big East this year? I imagine UConn and Nova will be #1 and #2 in the last regular season poll on Monday.

If Duke plays like this in the tournament, they'll be lucky to get into the Sweet 16.

    2006 NFL Off-Season

Great news with the Bentley signing. 27 years old and an All-Pro. It's also the end of an era in Philly as CSN reported that Koy Detmer along with Mike McMahon will be released, and Jeff Garcia will be the new backup. Make your own jokes about the apparent shot at Terrell Owens by the team signing his least favorite QBs.
