I wouldn't mind the Eagles making a run at Mike Anderson. I know he was in the Denver system, but he's a power back that can play both RB and FB.

There is no way Ohio State will get a #1 seed over Villanova. Texas had a chance due to the head-to-head win, but OSU has none. -

Texas just lost to Texas A&M, which damages the Longhorns' hopes of a #1 seed. -

Vitale was quite unbearable tonight with his little rants about the officiating. -
Can I switch from Tampa to the Giants?

Syracuse probably needs one more win, which they'll probably get against DePaul to get to 20 wins. That and a win in New York next week probably locks up an at-large berth for them. If they beat DePaul and beat Villanova in their last game, they're definitely in. -

Johnny Dawkins didn't have that bad of a career in the NBA.

Managers that might be on the hot seat? Charlie Manuel is one. If the Phillies don't start fast out of the gate, he might get canned. I thought he was actually pretty lucky to survive the off-season.

Beltran can't be worse. That's a sarcastic answer to why he'll be better, but it's true. Just look at Beltran's career numbers, I think that's all you need to see. Wright's going to get better, his progression just doesn't stop once he has one good season. If Delgado plays at all, it'll be more than what they got from 1st base last year. If they got anything from the 1st base position last year, they would have made the playoffs! If they miss the playoffs, it won't be for a lack of wins. They'll have enough. Their bullpen's the only issue. EDIT: I don't need to address Reyes, all he needs to do is fix his OBP problem. One injury to their main starters in the rotation and they're in trouble. Outside of Pedro, Glavine, and maybe Trachsel there aren't many great arms. Wagner hasn't exactly been a clutch closer in the past few years either.

I'm a Phillies fan, but I can't see them winning the division. AL East: New York Yankees AL Central: Chicago White Sox AL West: Los Angeles Angels AL Wild Card: Cleveland Indians NL East: Atlanta Braves (At this point, I'll pick them until they lose it) NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers NL Wild Card: Philadelphia Phillies (They'll have a better record than the Mets, for some reason I think the Mets of this year will be just like the 2002 Mets, tons of big names that don't mesh. Phils really need a fast start though unlike the last couple of years.)

Christ, at least with the US we were expecting to not medal, but Canada, DAMN....

What I remember most about St. Joe's 2 years ago was Billy Packer throwing a shitfit on the Selection Show over them getting a #1 seed, followed by Phil Martelli calling him an asshole on live television, which was the greatest thing ever.

Why does anyone even listen to Eskin anymore? I guess it's the revulsion factor, like not being able to turn away from a car wreck on the road.

Picture of Sasha Cohen from the front page of ESPN.com Am I the only one that thinks this look just a little too creepy?

Go for the night games, there is nothing worse than a humid day in Philly. I remember when I went to a Sunday game in August against the Mets at the Vet, in the 700 level with those ugly yellow seats in 100 degree weather.

Al, you'll love this gem Eskin decided to spew today: "Larry Bowa did more things offensively to help his team than Jimmy Rollins does." Oh really, Howard, you mean things like this? http://www.garveyconnelly.com/images/temp/bowa.mpeg

Syracuse beat West Virginia tonight, if they beat DePaul and get a win out of either the Georgetown or Villanova games and win one game in MSG, they should be able to make an at-large berth for the NCAAs.

It's really sad, we haven't had a real superstar goalie since Parent, or maybe Pelle before he was killed in the car accident. Clarke has to get the blame for not getting one I guess. Here's a hypothetical question, if Bernie didn't have the injuries in 1975-76, do the Flyers beat Montreal in the Cup Finals and get the three-peat?
-
After watching Nittymaki play in the Olympics, I would love to see him starting for the Flyers in the playoffs over Esche.

Nova beat Georgetown today. Next 2 games are going to be a bit rough, a Cincinnatti, who needs a win to really clinch an at-large berth, and next Sunday at UConn, who'll want to get revenge for last Monday. If Nova wins these two and wins two games in the Big East tourney, they should be able to lock up a #1 seed. Nova could also very well luck out in the regional they get placed in like Illinois did last year if the get placed as the #1 seed in the Washington D.C. regional, since they'll get to play their first and second round games in Philadelphia because one of the other Big Five schools is counted as the "host" of those games, then its maybe a 2-3 hour drive to D.C. for the regionals.

Minnesota upset Iowa at home today, which still leaves the Big Ten title picture somewhat muddled. Arkansas beat Florida today to keep their tournament bid hopes alive. Alabama beat Tennessee, which helps Alabama in the at-large process and hurt Tennessee's chances of a #2 seed in the tournament. Marquette upset Pittsburgh at home tonight, U of L's NCAA hopes got hurt even more with the loss to Syracuse, and UConn escaped Morgantown with a win over WVU.

....says the Sixer fan. At least we have a shot at making the playoffs, which is more than I can say for the Knicks... For a quick exit? Going to give the youngers Webber and A.I some playoff experience? Better than getting one of the worst records in the league and having to see your lottery pick get sent to Chicago thanks to another one of Isiah's brilliant moves...
