College Football - Bowl & Heisman Babbling

A BCS nightmare next year could be either West Virginia or Louisville possibly going undefeated and slipping into the Fiesta Bowl for the championship, which could happen if Louisville beats Miami at home and takes care of business or if West Virginia can pull an upset at Louisville with their OOC not being very hard at all.

Pretty much. Of the last 15 winners only Ricky Williams was on a non-Top 10 team and Texas was still respectable 8-3 in the regular season. The last winner on a non-ranked team was Steve Owens of Oklahoma in 1969 who went 6-4 that year and did not play in a bowl. Yeah and the last time a Heisman Trophy winner was on a losing team I believe was Paul Hornung winning in 1957 or 1958 when Notre Dame was 2-9.

I think there's a great chance of them being 11-0 when they head to Los Angeles to play USC in November. PSU will be adjusting to Morelli and a whole new secondary when they play in early September, Lloyd Carr can't ever seem to win in South Bend, and the Irish usually play well in East Lansing against MSU. UCLA could be tough depending on who's back for them next year, but I think the game being in South Bend helps them. As for PSU next year: 9-2 Akron - W 9-9 @ Notre Dame - L, I can't see them winning this game early in the season on the road with the losses they'll have due to graduation 9-16 Youngstown State - W 9-23 @ Ohio State - L, They'll either lose this one or the Michigan game, I'm thinking this is the loss 9-30 Northwestern - W 10-7 @ Minnesota - W, could be a loss depending on how Minnesota is next year 10-14 Michigan - W 10-21 Illinois - W 10-28 @ Purdue - W, Count me as not a believer in Purdue 11-4 @ Wisconsin - W, like the Minnesota game could be a loss depending on who returns for Wisconsin 11-11 Temple - W 11-18 Michigan State - W This is me being optomistic. The offense will be tremendous if Morelli can pick up the offense quickly, considering they get all their skill players back and some of the line as well. The defense on the other hand may get burned at first while the new secondary gets broken in, but the losses on the DL are manageable and the linebacking core will be good with Posluzsny and Connor both back next year. At best 9-2 and a shot at the conference title again, at worst 7-4 and the Alamo Bowl. The 2007 team has the possibility to be an absolute monster.

A dark horse that no one has mentioned for next year is Kyle Wright from Miami. He'll have some experience and Miami QBs seem to do well in Heisman races. Don't discount Chad Henne or Michael Hart either.

It'll be tough for him to win it if Notre Dame is 12-0 (12 game schedules next year) and Quinn has a year similar to last year, because you know how the media would love to give ND a Heisman.

Williams might have less yards receiving next year only because Anthony Morelli will be the new QB next year since Robinson is graduating, but in 2007 he'll definitely be a contender.

Heisman presentation is on, I love the paintings of the previous winners. Ton of previous winners there, but where's O.J.?

    College Hoops: December

Never mind the fact that the past 2 tournaments, he's come up extremely short in the games that Duke has been eliminated (UConn in 2004, Michigan State in 2005). If he's the so-called "best player in the country", he should be rising to the occasion, not shrinking from it.

Duke's biggest alumni base outside North Carolina is in the Northeast with all of their NJ and NYC alumni. IU is up 19 and may finally beat Kentucky this year.

Of course they have to be in UM's shadow, what when Lloyd Carr whines for extra seconds on the clock which screws over PSU's undefeated season, who wouldn't debate Carr and the Big Ten officials being in bed with each other? The University of Michigan - When you can't win a game on your own, just get those paid officials to win it for you... Too bad LLLoyd carr became LLLLoyd Carr with 4 losses this year. Say what you want about Paterno being older than dirt, but at least he can beat Jim Tressel unlike Lloyd.

So . . . what are the chances of Reggie Bush NOT winning the Heisman?

Had Vince Young played a better game against A&M, I'd think that he'd have a better shot at winning, but there's talk of Reggie Bush eclipsing O.J. Simpson's margin of victory for the Heisman in 1968.

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Ak...ov=st&type=lgns Gary Barnett is reportedly going to be canned at Colorado. FSU won't beat PSU. PSU has a great defense and senior leadership, so they're not going to become unglued like Virginia Tech was.

    NFL Week XIII

Remember he also did lose against the Titans I believe in the 1999 playoffs at home when the Colts were coming off a first-round bye for the AFC playoffs, along with the losses against Miami and the Jets in the playoffs. Also that 0-4 record against Florida when he was at Tennessee still looms over him.
