I'll laugh when Michigan State punks out Duke in again in April and Dookie Vitale is in a hospital with his life-support being Laettner's shot on loop... And the reason most people hate Redick is because of Vitale diving on his knees to give verbal fellatio every time he's on TV...

Just getting rid of Thome's contract is good enough for me. It's nice to have a real GM instead of an idiot for a change.

I can't see Stanford beating Notre Dame. Tyrone Willingham was able to put up over 50 on them for chrissakes. -

Simply put, for Oregon to get into the BCS they're going to need PSU to be taken by the Fiesta Bowl first, then Notre Dame to be chosen by the Orange Bowl. Fiesta gets the next pick and is likely to take Oregon rather than a PSU-OSU rematch. If Notre Dame gets chosen first, the probability gets reduced a great deal as I can't see the Orange Bowl taking Oregon, instead taking either PSU and setting up ND-OSU or ABC brokering a deal and the Orange taking OSU, leaving the Fiesta with PSU. -

"WE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE GAME!!" Anyway, the program hasn't been too great since Saban left I believe. ND would've went 10-1 on Oregon's schedule, they would've beaten Fresno State as well. Oregon probably goes 8-3 to 9-2 on ND's schedule, despite the schedule being the paper tiger that it was. People seem to just look at second half MSU and forget that the team was completely on fire the first half of the season. If Oregon hadn't gotten assraped by USC at Autzen and had Clemens healthy now, they probably have a better shot. If anything, hold the system responsible for making nonconference winners in the major conferences finish in the top 4 to be assured a spot. Like I mentioned before, it comes down to ratings with the major bowls now: PSU and ND are mega-draws, OSU is also a good draw, Oregon not so much, which is likely to doom them to the Holiday Bowl. If anything college football is very similar to WWE. Ohio State is definitely HHH, and I guess Notre Dame is Hogan... -

Michigan State is the ultimate Jeckll and Hyde team. Had Oregon played MSU when ND played them, they would've lost too. MSU died after that Ohio State game, which reminds me... *cues up John L. Smith meltdown* -

All you need to do is print out some of his comments this year about Texas and show them off to the section he's in, then enjoy the show... -

I imagine the Holiday Bowl would be a great shootout if they get both Oregon and Texas Tech there. -

Tickets would be impossible to get for a PSU-ND Fiesta Bowl. -

Comcast Sportsnet in Philly today was talking about ABC working on a deal with the Orange Bowl for them to take Ohio State to play the ACC champion so that they could get the PSU-ND mega matchup in the Fiesta Bowl that they want. -

My guess is if they move to Vegas, then the Pirates probably move to the NL East. -

This year's USC is the best USC. And no way Texas is held to 21. A&M has nothing resembling a defense. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a rivalry game, strange things tend to happen in rivalry games. Remember Ohio State and Michigan in 1996 when OSU was supposed to be unbeatable and Michigan wasn't that good at all and the Wolverines winning that game, in Columbus as well? This is pretty much A&M's bowl game and they will pull out every stop imaginable to try and upset Texas. -
Most like Ohio State/Michigan perhaps? Then again if we were comparing college and pro rivalries I'd say that the NFC East rivalries are much more like the SEC than anything else...

Good location for Navy, tons of Navy people in San Diego. -
It all comes back to ratings for who gets to go to the big bowls as an at-large if the bowls aren't forced to pick a certain team. ND is a mega draw and OSU also to a lesser degree, Oregon is not. Hence why the possible PSU-ND Fiesta Bowl is being proposed...

Penn State lost to Michigan though. Granted it was at the Big House but Michigan is not a top level team this year. To be honest I'd have Florida St. higher than Michigan too. Besides beating PSU the Wolverines beat nobody special and lost a game against Minn which they should have come out of with a win. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PSU lost that game thanks to the referees putting 2 seconds back on the clock during the last drive because they thought the Michigan player had gotten out of bounds when he actually didn't, along with Lloyd Carr whining for the extra two seconds, which lead to the last second TD, as compared to VT just getting dominated at home nonetheless.

I read something today saying that the Pac-10 commissioner Tom Hansen is starting to push the BCS to take Oregon over Ohio State for the second at-large bid for the Fiesta Bowl. Unfortunately for him, he can't threaten to pull the conference out of the BCS like he did in 2000 like he said he would if Oregon State didn't get a BCS bid. I also believe that Big Ten commissioner Jim Delaney is supposedly one of the BCS higher-ups and will probably push to get Ohio State taken as the second BCS at-large team. -
Va Tech's loss was way worse than PSU's. I'm not really sure that VT is that great of a team considering what happened when they played a strong defense in the Miami game.

The computers absolutely love PSU this year, which is why they're #3 over LSU.

He's still pissed at Pitt over them spurning Paterno's idea of an all-Eastern school conference in the 1980s which would've put PSU, Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia, Maryland, Boston College and a couple other schools whose names escape me at the moment and joining the Big East instead. -
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would rather welcome Bobby Hoying back than be forced to watch Kordell...
