    The NFL Offseason/Pre-Draft Thread

Yeah this sounds like his Seattle pick last year. Doesn't bother me much. Nowhere as bad as Merril Hoge's "Eagles go 8-8 and Redskins win the NFC East" pick from last year. Anyway it's apparently been reported that the Pats, Cowboys, and another team contacted Price's agent and that Price called up the Eagles and Seahawks. Also Clayton said that the Eagles may have been talking with Warrick. I personally think that if they get a receiver that it'll be Price, since he already knows some of the WCO from Greg Knapp and can do Pinkston's job and not be a total pussy doing it unlike Todd was...

Meh..SI also picked Seattle to go quite far last year too, just shows how much Dr.Z likes to talk out of his ass...

I wouldn't mind seeing the Eagles pick him up cheap and sticking him in the slot position, though they do need to get Reggie Brown some experience on the field...

    This week in baseball 8/29 - 9/5

I wouldn't mind holding onto Lieberthal for another year as long as they can get Carlos Ruiz ready for 2007, but Bell....ugh....

    This week in baseball 8/29 - 9/5

Pedro is going to dominate any hitter, I'd rather have Burrell up against him and take my chances than Tucker, and ESPECIALLY the fact that Lieberthal and Bell in the lineup without one of the good players(Burrell, Utley, Abreu, Howard) scares me. Maybe I'm just sick of watching Bell do absolutely nothing other than be useless. After this weekend's series I'm ready to anoint him, Lieberthal and Rheal Cormier the Unholy Trinity...

Oh good Lord, Cholly Manuel said today that Michael Tucker will "spell" Pat Burrell for the rest of the year against "tough right-handed pitching". Part of me wants the Phillies to miss the playoffs just to expose management as the incompetent boobs that they are. It's amazing that they found a manager that's even more incompetent than Bowa was...

Eagles took the franchise tag off Corey Simon. Can't say I'm too upset since the DTs in his place have looked good so far and his ass being out of shape was one of the reasons why the Eagles run defense sucked the first part of last year. Besides, now they have $5 million to use on extensions for Westbrook and Michael Lewis. I doubt Simon will get the Kris Jenkins-type contract that he's looking for. Then again, there is one man will will definitely overpay for him....

    College Football is almost back

FSU was ranked at #4 in 1998 in the final week of the year. UCLA was #2 and Kansas State was #3 in the last weekend, with UCLA having to play a makeup game against Miami due to Hurricane Georges postponing their original game date and Kansas State had to play Texas A&M in the Big XII title game. UCLA ends up laying a complete egg against Miami and losing, then Kansas State choked against A&M in the Big XII title game, leaving the door open for FSU. Of course Ohio State did complain about the BCS since they were 10-1 as well and their loss to Michigan State wasn't as bad as FSU's loss to NC State was, OSU lost in the last seconds and FSU got dominated by NC State.

Listening to my friends that go to RU, you'd think they were doing something other than going 4-7 and losing to D-IAA teams. It just shows how bad that school is when they can't keep any prospects from staying instate. Penn State kicks their ass all the time when recruiting South Jersey, and Virginia is doing a number on them now, pulling Wali Lundy out of Delran among others.

    College Football is almost back

Myron Rolle, one of the top prospects in the country from up near Princeton, New Jersey is set to make his decision for next fall on Thursday. Top schools include Penn State, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Oklahoma. If PSU gets him, they're likely to bring in a great recruiting class for 2006. And I laugh at Rutgers for not even being able to be on his top 8 schools, even though they're about 20 minutes away from his high school...

    This Week in Baseball

Lieber gets out of a bases loaded jam. If it wasn't for David Bell's useless ass, the Phils would be up 2-0 right now... And after Howard gets on, Bell proves me right by flying out. They ought to leave him and Lieberthal stranded in the desert after this series in Arizona is over.

1951 was their last title, second under Neyland if you count the 1938 undefeated season. In the SEC for best all-time programs, you'd probably have to rank Bama 1st. Florida is tough to rank as they were a perennial underachiever until Spurrier arrived. I'd say that Tennessee and Georgia are about the same, both have a couple of national titles and numerous conference titles. LSU and Auburn are up there too. I'd rank them like this: 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Tennessee/LSU 5. Auburn 6. Florida

Tennessee's schedule is absolutely deadly. They'll have a loss out of the 3 games at Florida, LSU, and Alabama and the Georgia game is going to be tough as well.

Had Peyton beaten Florida for once he would've won the Heisman without a doubt... Woodson won his biggest game(Ohio State, returned a punt for a TD and had a solid game receiving and defensively) while Manning played like absolute shit against Florida...
