    The Wildcard Weekend Thread

Just passing along some news, the divisional playoff times have now been set. Pittsburgh will host the early game on Saturday and Atlanta will host the 8 pm game. Philadelphia will host the 1 pm game on Sunday and New England will play the late game that day.

Is Mike Martz a crappy coach that you hate?

I hope Martz stays in St.Louis for a long time. Watching a conference rival being held back thanks to extremely bad coaching is always a good thing.

    NFL Week 17

Nah he was much better as a coordinator. That 1990 Wild Card game against Washington proved it, as Gibbs outcoached the hell out of him. Great defensive coach and defensive talent evaluator, but a horrible gameday coach who was just blatantly ignoring the offense, with the famous quote of his being "We just gotta have Randall make 5 or 6 big plays and let the defense win it".

    NFL Week 17

Yes he did, but also remember that he was facing Jim Mora, another famous playoff choker as well. I'm more pissed that Braman decided to go with Kotite over Jeff Fisher in 1990 as the new head coach. Fisher probably would've won more playoff games and not looked like an idiot after Buddy's players left in free agency. Ryan was overrated as a coach however(not game planning, ignoring the offensive line's problems).

I actually hope that out of the 3 power teams in the AFC that the Eagles get the Colts if the Eagles make it there, simply because of Manning's history in big games.

Michael Vick as well. If Vick goes down, its the Matt Schaub or Ty Detmer Show in Atlanta.

God help us all if Atlanta makes the Super Bowl. All of ESPN will be fighting over who gets to give Michael Vick a verbal blowjob. And if it ends up being Colts/Falcons, ugh.

    NFL Week 17

Says about 268 minutes the whole set is. I think they had features on the 1948, 1949, and 1960 championship teams, and specials on the 1978 Miracle at the Meadowlands, 1980 NFC Championship against Dallas, and the Fog Bowl of 1988. Oh lord I just saw Richie Kotite on it. God help me now. I hope they have Kotite's 2-point conversion chart ink running in the rain against Dallas just so I can show my grandchildren in about 50 years how much of an idiot Kotite was.

    The Official Rose Bowl Thread

Both these teams should be very good next year, but Texas has 3 games that are going to be extremely tough to win: one being at Ohio State, another being the Red River Shootout, and the last being at Texas A&M. Michigan's toughest game is probably at Iowa in October. They get Notre Dame and Ohio State in Ann Arbor, so if they can take care of business on the road next year, they have a great shot at the national championship.

Oh and has anyone gotten a team's "Complete History Of" DVD? I got the Eagles one today and I'm wondering how good these DVDs are.

Minnesota goes to Philly if they win since they're the lowest seed in the NFC I believe.

    NFL Week 17

I'm happy about Carolina being knocked out of the playoffs today because I thought that was the team that could go into Philly and win. New England and Pittsburgh probably had to play their starters more today considering the fact that their games are going to be much more of a dogfight in the divisionals than the Eagles will have(2 dome teams having to play outside and one that is a completely schizophrenic team.) The Eagles probably wanted to make sure no more starters got hurt considering what happened last year when their defense was basically decimated.

The Daily Bowl Discussion Thread: December 30th

I'm not celebrating anything until they actually win the NFC title game this year. I remember both those losses and the depression(loss to Tampa) and anger(loss to Carolina) that came afterwards.

At least you got accepted into name schools, I on the other hand other than Ohio State got accepted into the 3 no-name colleges of Southern New Jersey and had to pick the least crappiest one. Since I didn't feel like dealing with heavy traffic on a commute(Rowan) and going into Camden, the most dangerous city in the US(Rutgers-Camden), I took Stockton, at least its near Atlantic City. God how I hate New Jersey colleges.

The Daily Bowl Discussion Thread: December 30th

Well the money situation pissed me off at first, but now I realize that I would've been in a $40,000 hole debt wise after graduating from there as an undergrad. And since I'm planning on going to law school in 2006, thats going to cost a lot too. The school I'm at now is not that bad, its in the Top 5 for Public Liberal Arts Colleges, I just wish the money came through for Ohio State last year. And your mom sent applications out for you? Same happened to me, which is why I went to a different school.

Would you have had the same fanboyness had you went to Texas? And you wanna hear something funny, I know you hate Ohio State......I almost went to Ohio State last January. I got accepted there, but financing going there fell through.

    NFL Week 16

Nah, as I'm checking pro-football-reference.com now, New England lost to Buffalo in Week 1 then to Washington in Week 4 before starting the streak. It also says the win over the Eagles was in Week 2.

    NFL Week 16

I wouldn't call last year riding on the defense, as the run defense was atrocious and the pass defense had lost a step. 2002 was definitley a great defensive year for the Eagles. That Eagles/Pats game last year was in Week 2, after the Eagles opened up the new stadium by getting demolished by Tampa Bay. I think the Limbaugh controversy was during Week 4 because I remember being at the Week 5 game against the Redskins and that was the huge topic.

    NFL Week 16

That play can be blamed more on the officials for not blowing the whistle once McNabb was down. Greg Favors thought the play was still going on due to the ref not whistling the play dead until late. Also remember that Thrash and Pinkston were getting punked out by under 6 foot CBs as well.
