Can a Afro American ever be a big main eventer?
Dark Age replied to Team Angle Pusher's topic in The WWE Folder
Oh, I agree he's past his peak. No doubt. The window has gone on Book. However, one of the biggest arguments I hear is that it was the right decision to put Trips over Book because Booker wasn't any good. That's rubbish. At the time, he was the most over guy on Raw, and the best wrestler on Raw, and that includes Chris Jericho. Though his limitations are obvious, he's still better than a good deal of the roster, and still really over. The amount of old guys in the main event scene is sad, but I'd rather see Booker in the spot than Trips, Shawn or Taker. -
They aren't talking about Henry.

You have to go there again, don't you? Your bias against Book is obvious. There aren't many great wrestlers in the company. Book is still better than most of them, though. -
How have you done w/ WM Main Event Picks?
Dark Age replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
It didn't add anything to Rock. He didn't "gain" any overness from that match. He was still super over, win or lose, didn't matter. And Backlash would have got a big buyrate anyway, simply because it was Rock Vs. Triple H, odds against Rocky, etc. Oh, and Austin of course. That would make even LESS sense, if that was possible. -
Less than 5 minutes if they've got any balls.

No way bro!

What's funny is you don't realise what you are saying when you say "it was a sleeper". Man, fuck that. Shelton is going to do something crazy.
-
Jesus Christ, chill out. The guy just asked a question. Stop thinking you know everything when you know NOTHING. Like, fuck all.

What the hell are you talking about? There's been, like, ONE WrestleMania since 19. What a stupid quote. How could anyone think that these are great matches? I mean, the others aren't really great either, but I can at least understand you there. But.... Big Show/Cena? The cruiserweight open??? What was great about them? I'm sure you'll tell me you enjoyed them so they MUST be great. Taker/Kane was sick. It was one of the worst Mania matches ever. I know you're a Taker mark, which is all well and good, but don't let that blind you from the fact that this match sucked a pig's dick. Iggymcfly, just because the card is better than last years (which I don't really agree with) doesn't make it good.

Updated spoilers see Doug and Danny switch opponents. Not that it matters, really.

Velocity, like Heat, looks awful. Like, worst ever awful. Doesn't this kinda spoil that neither man is winning the match? I know I'd be buying Akio if I was there live, but this would ruin it. Same with Kidman in the next match. Don't like Jerry on SD. Should have used Matthews. Interesting. If this is EXACTLY what he said, then I smell a DQ finish. That way, JBL keeps his promise of remaining champ, but doesn't have to win. I really hope Eddie doesn't turn heel, and I don't think he will. Please keep them both as faces.

One of the most annoying things EVER, is one people see the rating for a show and say "this is good news" or "this is bad". Not you, but it happens all the time. I can understand if you're happy because your favourite wrestler upped the ratings, or the ratings bombed with Trips or something, but people just immediatley think "big rating = good news" without realising that it's not good at all. "Oh the show was awful, but at least the rating was high" What the fuck? Anyway, I'm glad to see that the rating jumped. This is good news.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but it wouldn't. It's the best move they could do. Have Batista kill H dead, and he MAY have a shot. No shitty 20 minute Triple H match in which he tries to convince everyone he's really good by doing figure-fours and Indian Deathlocks or whatever.
-
They need to fit Book in somewhere. Have him get involed with Eddie/Rey if they've got nothing to do with him.

I like how everybody completely forgets that Vince Russo booked the WWE for the two best years they ever had, storyline-wise. He'd probably just leave WM alone, build up a heel while Batista finished off HHH again at Backlash in a stip match, and then set up hot feuds for Batista throughout the summer. What's that Vince?

Best Wrestlers: SD - Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and Paul London Raw - Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho (I guess) and Edge (?) No one really stands out on Raw. Most Over: SD - Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and JBL (maybe?) (Angle at times, but, until recently (JBL feud) he's been the least over he's ever been) Raw - Batista, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels and Triple H Rocky and Austin didn't get shit on in the midcard for years. They didn't get countless pushes which got shit on (Rock had one). STUPID STUPID STUPID. He, actually, hasn't had a better reign than Guerrero and Benoit, but you know why you think that? Because JBL is at the top of the card. Benoit was an afterthought to the constant Triple H ego-fuck. Guerrero had to put JBL over. When he was still "just Bradshaw".

Was Taker/Orton last week? That was okay too, other than Taker's zombie powers. The Cena/JBL stuff was stupid, when they could have done sooo much more. Eddie and Rey Vs. Hardcore and Haas was bad, the JBL/Scotty stuff was some of the most pointless crap I've seen in some time, the diva stuff was, again, absolutely pointless and bad and I can't even remember the rest of the show which should tell you how good it was. EDIT: Actually, wait. Taker/Orton wasn't last week. Instead they did the stupid sacrifice angle. Yeah, that was bad. This led to the thrilling Booker T/Rene match, which was, actually, bad. Oh and there was the Big Show/Luther thing. That was pretty bad.

Where does he keep this chart you speak of? It interests me. I don't think Triple H will win the title back from Batista. He needs a go between, like Orton last year, so that his dominance is less obvious. Maybe even two! When was the last time there was 2 reigns between Triple H's reigns? Reign One Won title from Foley- night after 1999 Slam. -Lost title to McMahon -Title Forfeited Reign Two -Triple H wins 6 Pac Challenge for vacant title -Loses title to TBS @ Survivor Series 1999 Reign Three -Triple H Beats TBS on January 3rd 2000 Raw -Loses title to The Rock @ Backlash 2000 Reign Four-Triple H beats the Rock @ Judgment Day in Iron Man match -Lost title to The Rock but wasn't directly pinned as McMahon was pinned, costing him the title. -Rock loses title to Kurt Angle @ No Mercy 00 -Rock wins title back from Kurt Angle @ No Way Out 01' -Austin wins title from Rock @ Mania *Triple H is Injured shortly after this* -Austin loses title to Angle at Unforgiven 99 -Austin wins title back from Angle on raw 2 weeks later -Jericho wins wcw and wwe title to become first ever undisputed champion Reign Five -Beats Jericho @ WMX8 -Loses title to Hogan @ Backlash -Hogan loses title to Undertaker -Taker loses title to Rock -Rock loses title to Lesnar *WWE Title is seperated from Raw's new exclusive World Title Reign Six -Beats Ric Flair to award himself the title in fall of 2002. -loses title to HBK @ Survivor Series 2002 Reign Seven -beats HBK @Armageddon -loses title to Goldberg @ Unforgiven 2003 Reign eight -beats Goldberg and Kane @ Armageddon 2003 -loses title to Chris Benoit @ WMXX -Randy orton beats benoit @ Slam 04 Reign nine-Triple H beats randy orton @ Unforgiven 2004 -Title was stripped from Triple H due to constroversial finish in title defense with Edge and Benoit Reign Ten -Defeated Batista, Benoit, Jericho, Orton, Edge in Elimination Chamber. So in between reign 4 and 5, there were 7 title changes but HHH was either involved in the true big storyline(love triangle) or was injured. Only one other time were there more then 1 champion in between Triple H and HHH was still the focal point of the show. What's your point? I said they might put the belt on two different people before H gets it back, so that his bullshit doesn't become too obvious. Everyone expects him to get it back straight away, so having 2 champs before he wins the belt again might kid some people. They haven't done it before? And? Your point?
-
Nope, it was awful last week too, outside of the fantastic Angle/Sherri/Shawn segment.

Why waste London's big win here? If they aren't going to let him wrestle at Mania, then they should have had Akio win and save London's victory for the next SD PPV. Hell, if they aren't going to put London on the WM card, they may as well have left Chavo with the belt, and see if he gets better any time soon. I'll shut up if they add a cruiserweight title match to Mania. Eddie jobbing to Basham? Awful. I like Doug Basham, more than most people, but he shouldn't be going over Eddie in any way at all, even if it is to further this storyline. Same with Rey and Danny. Oh please. This is getting pathetic. Seriously, Cena gets arrested? Hasn't that happed to EVERY OTHER BABYFACE who challenges for the title around Mania? Didn't they do this with Eddie JUST LAST YEAR? This feud had a bit of potential - instead, they've taken every shortcut in the book. Pathetic. I guess this means Cena's going over, but I'm still not sure. You did this two weeks ago. Get something new. If the cruiserweight battle royal and Eddie/Doug get some time, this could be watchable, with some good in-ring stuff. However, the booking is just terrible.

I think WWE has proven, historically, that faces can get away with monumentally shitty finishers. Well, yeah, but that's not my point. My point is that the move is treated like crap, as well as looking like crap. Everyone has kicked out of it.
-
But IS the appeal in the chase? Nobody has been paying money to see any of the faces chasing JBL, so why stick with it if it's bombing? Why not see if JBL trying to get revenge on Cena is any better? They could have a rematch at JD, which JBL wins by DQ. Then he challenges Cena to a Bullrope match at GAB. Have JBL be a big astronomical freak, and babble about how it's destiny that he's to beat Cena, just like he did Eddie last year. Then he loses, and Eddie congratulates Cena on doing what he couldn't do one year prior. JBL takes his anger out on Eddie in the future, while you have Cena as a champion fighting against all odds, not knowing defeat. This works too.
-
They've killed the FU. Cena should use something bigger to beat JBL. Or, have JBL kick out of the FU and get the win, and leave a hint that Cena's going to have to bring a bigger move for the next time they meet. HINT!
-
Well since the people in this match are Benoit, Jericho, Benjiman, Edge, Christian & Kane you can be almost sure that one of them will main event the next mania. How can you? They've main evented, like, 2 WrestleManias between them.

Is it because of the fact that HTQ is so easily amused? Or that he made an ass of himself and then backed off? Or is it because his super awesome debating skills are saved for people of true importance such as chaosrage, a man with cookie monster as his avatar? Maybe seeing that C really is for cookie inspired HTQ to his inspiring commentary on HHH not winning this year but winning EVERY WM main event to come. Nah, private joke.
