Meh, Stallone was washed up at that point before he rebounded with Rocky 6 and hopefully, Rambo 4. -

WWE General Discussion - September 2007

Nicholson is not gonna waste his time inducting Flair into the HOF. Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler who are huge wrestling fans didn't even bother wasting their time to accept an offer to induct Jerry Lawler into the HOF. Nicholson blows both out of the water in terms of star power so if Sandler and Carrey were too good to appear for a HOF induction then surely Nicholson won't. -
Clips of the movie are on her fan page.

Lesnar/Goldberg is entertaining to watch just because of the crowd and both men getting annoyed by it and not giving a shit about their match. I'd say Taker/Bossman just because such a cool gimmick was wasted on such a heatless fued.
-
DDP didn't know how to work WWE style and Taker didn't like him so he went out of his way to make him look bad at every encounter they had.

Do any of the Mean Street Posse guys even wrestle anymore?
-
Lawler was accused (falsely, as it turned out) of statutory rape and sodomy of a minor less than two weeks before the PPV. Vince had to plus someone believable into the match on very short notice, and HBK was the most logical choice. Did they ever kayfabe Lawler's absence?
-
Woody Allen vs Mia Farrow in a cage match? What the hell was this?
-
1. What was the kayfabe reason (I know the real reason) for Shawn Michaels taking over for Jerry Lawler's team at Survivor Series '93? 2. Who were the wrestlers who played the Knights in that match?
-
This movie has been pushed back for god knows how long now. Wasn't it supposed to be released like a year and a half ago?
-
I love the commentary on that one: "Why doesn't he just mail this list and we'll announce it?" "Shut up!" "Get a haircut!" "He's still got several hundred more to go!"

In the build up to Faarooq/Taker at KOTR '97, the fued kept focusing on a black man never winning the world title which is something Ahmed questioned too so that was the start of a heel Ahmed being teased. Taker beat Faarooq at the KOTR but Taker kept attacking him because Paul Bearer (who was blackmailing Taker at the time with his "secret" that turned out to be Kane) told him too. Ahmed came down and told him to back off and that he suffered enough but Taker didn't stop and Ahmed attacked him. The next night on Raw, Ahmed attacked Taker after the main event and joined the Nation and gave a promo next week where he said he basically joined the Nation to finally get some respect and a title shot and most importantly, become the first black WWF champ. So sad I remember all that.

WWE.com said that Team DX's victory at last year's Survivor Series was the first clean sweep ever at the event forgetting that Team Undertaker in '95 swept Team Mabel.

2002 was miles worse than 2003 by far. I personally didn't think 2003 was that bad from a wrestling standpoint but everything up until Summerslam 2002 was god awful and even after Summerslam it only started to get a tiny bit better.

Heidenreich's "friend" gimmick.
-
He had a much better WWE run than I thought. I remember thinking before ECW started that they'd just bury him but he actually got over and was apparently worthy enough to get moved to Raw. At least he went out with a bang (being one of the 3 to be left during the "Who's Your Daddy?" angle last night) and got to make some decent money for awhile. I wouldn't mind seeing him retire now. He's done enough for this business.
-
Mr. Woodcock looks god awful. Billy Bob is such a great dramatic actor (Sling Blade, A Simple Plan, The Man Who Wasn't There) but I guess the success of Bad Santa has gone to his head.

Why kind of music do the Gym Class Heroes play anyway? My friend described them as "emo-rap" which sounds like the worst thing ever.

Mastodon got a small performance in with "Colony of Birchmen" before they cut to commercial.

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
Epic Reine replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
Absolutley not. The win wasn't clean and Angle had a horribly booked title reign where he was shoved down the card several times and only won matches either by cheating (Survivor Series 2000 against Taker) or by pure luck (6 man Hell in a Cell, vs HHH at Rumble '01). -
Mastodon is performing tonight with the Foo Fighters, Queens of The Stone Age and Serj from System Of A Down

Any update on what Chris Nowinski is doing these days? I know he wrote a book about concussions and he made a brief cameo on Raw last year but what has he been doing to pass time these days? He was always my favorite Tough Enough guy. Decent heel and good on the mic.
