IWA:MS with its 12 fans looks pretty sad sometimes.

Should TNA start the new Impact format tonight?
Epic Reine replied to AmazingRen's topic in TNA Wrestling
I think TNA wants to throw in a "real" look to it, much like the UFC's 8-sided ring, however they feel miserably, because of two major things: 1. Most of their wrestlers suck and the matches look horrible, NOT REAL 2. It's still Pro Wrestling, and everyone knows its not real. Especially their target audience, hicks and 14 year old smarks on internet sites like this. -
Should TNA start the new Impact format tonight?
Epic Reine replied to AmazingRen's topic in TNA Wrestling
If TNA wants to use the IMPACT to actually be, you know.... worth people's while to watch it, their going to have to do a few things: 1. Drop the time limits, or make it 20 minutes, so its more unpredictable 2. Have more title defenses on it [and actually occasionally having the NWA title defended on it] 3. Throw in a gimmick match every once in a while, a hardcore or No DQ match, just to "freshen" things up 4. Keep the segments, matches, etc. unpredictable. Don't always follow a formula. 5. Try and keep the matches to a minimum {I know that sounds weird for a wrestling show}, a good 2-3 matches on a 1 hour show would be fine. As long as each match is a good 10-15 minutes, and actually have a rhyme and reason to being so long, and they should involve better wrestlers. 6. Drop squash matches COMPLETLY. Or maybe one squash for someone to get over once a month. ONCE a MONTH. 7. Actually use Monty Brown in something OTHER than a squash. 8. Have Jarrett drop the strap. Even if it means someone like Hardy or D'Lo has it, whose considered low-card to any WWE fan turning it on, its still better than Jarrett, who WWE fans will remember as the guy Stone Cold bitched out constantly and the guy that Vince said sucked too bad to come to WWE when he bought WCW. 9. Get better announcers, or have them stop shouting and trying to put the product over so damn much. 10. Drop the Vince Russo, Dusty Rhodes, shit. 11. Now that I think about it. Drop Raven as a wrestler, and use him and Shane Douglas as the announcers, maybe keep Tenay because he has some uses to him. 12. Drop the "6 points" or whatever with the random ex-NASCAR geek. Every non-Nashville doesn't give a shit who he is or what he has to say. 13. Stop trying to be so damn hickish. There, until they get a 2 hour show, this should at least *help*, shame they still got a ton of shitty wrestlers and still book shitty, and still set-up matches in a shitty way, but whatever. -
WWE Diva Sent To Hospital After Raw; Upset Backstage Reported by Amish Patel on 09/07/2004 Last night, Diva Search contestant, Amy was injured during her arm wrestling match. It looks like she either broke or disloacted her arm last night and she had to go to the hospitial. In an interview with WWE.com she talks about getting hurt in the arm wrestling contest & then talks about Carmella. She was then escorted out too her car by Earl Hebner and Sgt. Slaughter, who ended up having to drive her to the hospital because she was crying and in so much pain. Amy of course, was the Diva eliminated by the fans last night, so it wasn't a very good night for her. source: Toprope.com

Sony, the distributors of WWE's DVDs, sent word to their retailers today that they are 3-5 business days behind schedule on printing the new Hard Knocks - The Chris Benoit Story. The highly anticipated Benoit DVD, which was scheduled to hit retail outlets this coming Tuesday, will be delayed in most stores. If you see the DVD at your local retail outlet in Tuesday, you will be in the minority. The DVD should hopefully hit the remaining outlets by the following week. http://www.pwinsider.com

My guess what their doing with Angle/Guerrero is going to be having Big Show be a face, that still destroys shit good, or something similar. And have a tag match on the next SDown with Angle/Luther vs. Guerrero/Show. And then start a Show/Angle feud, and a Luther/Eddy feud.
-
Anyone thought post-WM heel Trish sucked? Wow....
-
That only took me 2 minutes.
-
Naw, Kidman'll play the heel. They'll tag for 3 more weeks. With Kidman hesitating twice, finally, on the third, he'll completly walk off again. And then the next week, the same thing, but London walks out on Kidman and lets him get his ass wooped for the first time. London comes back, begins to go off on him, pulls back, and begins heading back to the locker room. But then Kidman attacks him in the aisle way. And starts going off. Pulls him in the ring, hits the SSP, and "injures" [in kayfabe {though who knows in real life}], London. Then, in the month or so London's gone, they'll flourish Kidman's heel character. And then London will make a huge comeback and save someone like Mysterio from a Spike/Kidman beat down, and turn face. And then they'll start a SSP vs. SSP feud with Kidman vs. London. ..... then I wake up.

Jericho has 6. Jarrett's had 5. RVD's had 5. Jericho got his sixth when the Cage match with RVD was re-started and counted as a new match per WWE's booking, and he won it back.
-
Sure that wasn't from jerking it? Just kidding WP.
-
They announced the Diva Boxing thing last night as well, that everyone I guess missed..... DIVA BOXING though, how can't you guys be marking out?
-
Could be. That or I hate the entire Diva search and find anything relating to bad done to them somewhat humerous?
-
HHH becomes a 9 time world champ, duh. I hope Victoria gets it back. Should be good. I'm mostly excited about this one since its never happened before (on TV anyway). Hey look, Jericho is fighting for the IC title in a ladder match! Just like 3 years ago. Should be good. I hope Tajiri and Rhyno finally get some gold back. I predict Hurricane or Val Venis will make it into the 7th match after being thrown together on Heat for whatever reason. Its amazing. From Unforgiven 2001: Unforgiven 2001 September 23, 2001 in Pittsburgh, PA Mellon Arena drawing 13,855 ($648,115) Shown live on PPV Billy Gunn pinned Tommy Dreamer (3:12). WWF Tag Champs Bubba & D-Von Dudley beat Matt & Jeff Hardy, Lance Storm & Hurricane, and The Big Show & Spike Dudley (14:21) in a "four corners elimination" match. Big Show pinned Storm (6:52). Matt pinned Spike (7:57). D-Von pinned Matt (14:21). Perry Saturn pinned Raven (5:07). Christian pinned Edge (11:53) to win the WWF I-C Title. WCW Tag Champs The Undertaker & Kane beat Kronik (10:22) when Undertaker pinned Clark. WWF Hardcore Champ Rob Van Dam pinned Chris Jericho (16:33). WCW World Champ The Rock beat Booker T & Shane McMahon (15:23) in a "handicap" match when he pinned McMahon. Rhyno pinned Yoshihiro Tajiri (4:50) to win the WCW U.S. Title. Kurt Angle beat Steve Austin (23:12) via submission to win the WWF World Title. The RVD/Jericho was over the Hardcore title and was basically a ladder match if I recall correctly. Christian was involved in a match against Edge for the IC title. Gee, what progress in the last 3 years for these guys huh?

To me ECW was: 1) Funk vs Cactus Jack 2) Raven vs Dreamer 3) The Dudley Boys as the #1 heels in the company 4) Sabu and his roll of athletic tape vs the world 5) Taz with his motto Fuck The World 6) Triple Threat 7) New Jack, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotton garbage matches 8) R-V-D Mr. Self Promotion 9) Luchadores and Japanese wrestlers bringing in the workrate 10) Joey Styles (OMG, HOLY SHIT, CATFIGHT), Joel Gertner (The Quintessional Studmuffin), Cyrus (the virus) I feel the same way about ECW too, just like the shirt used to say:"It's not for everyone!" because ECW was something special and WWE stole almost everything from them. WWE stole EVERYTHING from them? So, WWE stole GOOD MARKETING sense from them? WWE stole a spot-spot-spot-spot oriented style with little to no psychology past "I work leg, you work arm"? WWE stole piss-poor booking that was booked to mark the fans in attendence and nothing more? WWE stole a thousand *** matches and nothing higher than ***3/4?
-
A couple questions, what do you think would happen IF: 1. One of the plane trips to an overseas tour crashes and all of the wrestlers on the plane were to perish in the crash? 2. WCW had scooped up Kurt Angle and not WWF/E after his 96 Olympics? 3. Bischoff bought WCW and not Vince?
-
If you like senseless brawling and a more spot-spot-spot oriented match than psychology driven, then a future of Heyman/Dreamer students could be good....
-
The first 4-5 months of the split Brand was just kinda funny seeing them push random people [ie. Bradshaw and Bubba on RAW], and hope something stuck to a wall. I think since then, they've done a MUCH better job of building people up and pushing them.
-
Jeff was on drugs. Matt wasn't.
-
Woot. More crap. Oh well, I wasn't expecting much anyway.
-
Nothing higher than **1/2? And you people spend 10$ a week on this? Wow.
-
Wow, thats just pathetic. First off, what were you going to do with those 5 minutes? Jack off to some pictures of Trish from that wedding? Secondly, if you don't even care enough to watch SDown on even a good show, why do you bother reading the spoilers? So you can bitch in some thread, and show everyone how you'll so cool with your over 17,000 some posts on some internet message board. Watch the women flock to you.... its amazing.

I always thought it was "Jushin Thunder Liger" with an I, but this is WWE, and Russo's legacy lives on in Tazz, Rhyno, and the Dudley Boyz. I wouldn't rule out just becoming "Lyger," as (Yoshihiro) Tajiri, (Sho) Funaki, and Rey Mysterio (Jr.) can attest to. Taz and Rhino I beleive had to have their names changed due to copyright infringment / or just copright laws. And as for Sho Funaki and Yoshiriho Tajiri, every now and again they still mention their first names. Its easier for American fans to relate to just Funaki and Tajiri, then two Japanese names per wrestler. Thus the change.
