I think they're doing Joe/Sting for BFG, it seems like they're building up a Sting retirement angle similar to what WWE did with Flair.
-
What's with Santino fueding with guys that are retired? First Ron Simmons then Steve Austin and now Roddy Piper?
-
Yes, great show. I used to watch reruns of it back in my freshman year of college all the time befpre they cancelled it. I would still love to catch it if it's still on TV. And Michael Rappaport was my favorite character!

Did Lillian just call HHH the "WCWWE" champion?

I'll be honest, I don't mind 3DD's self titled debut at all. "Loser" was a nice track as was "Not Enough". I haven't really listened to much past that other than they seem to be the official band for the US Army. Oh and Staind's first album (technically their second) wasn't that bad and Break The Cycle isn't bad when you first listen to it either, I agree that radio (and other forms of media) killed it but that's what happens to all popular shit. It's funny how every first single off the Staind albums following BTC sounded exactly like "It's Been Awhile".

Let's Talk About...Vince Russo's first stint booking WCW
Epic Reine replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
Starrcade '99 is a guilty pleasure for me just because it's so horribly cluttered and overbooked to perfection with outside interference, gimmick matches and non-finishes galore. It's so bad in a funny way. -
What happened to Jesse and Festus?

Heavy Metal and subgenre description
Epic Reine replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in Music
You should probably also gives this band a listen: Between The Buried & Me. Their music covers a bunch of genres but they're also heavily influenced by Sepultura, Pantera and 80's Metallica. I'd say they're one of the best bands going today. Their latest album "Colors" is awesome as is their album before that, "Alaska". They get a lot of unwarranted flack because they just so happen to be on the same record label as Taking Back Sunday. -
Today, I was putting groceries away and while I was making room in the fridge for them, I came across this take-out of chicken fingers with french fries that my sister brought home from some diner. It was at least a month old but I ate it anyway. My mom says that I shouldn't have done that and said that I shouldn't have waited no more than a week before I threw it away. Fuck that, it looked good and still tasted good. So how long should you keep leftovers before you throw them away?

What kind of 3 count was that?

Looks like I was right. Poor poor Donnie Wahlberg.

What the hell happened to Abyss?

No she was interviewing Shawn Michaels and she called him Edge so HBK had to call her on it on the air and it sort of degenerated into her current gimmick.

How much do you think his personal problems have affected his career? A lot. Hall has had a lot of second chances in the past and blew them all. He had the nWo revival thing which he fucked up and had THREE different stints in TNA in which he fucked up everytime. I think I can say his last run with TNA was his last shot in the wrestling spotlight. Do you think Hall was ever main event material? I definatley could have saw him as a main eventer in the mid 90's since he was crazy over in the WWF but by the time he got to WCW, he became too much of a stable and tag worker to be taken seriously as a legitimate world title threat. I also think Hall was a much better worker at this time than most people give credit for. What effect has his membership in The Kliq had on his career and his legacy? Well the Kliq was definatley one of the reasons why he was still pushed in the spotlight all the way until the end of his WWF run but at the same time like I said before, Hall was crazy over so it's not like he didn't deserve the spot. What were some of Hall's best matches? Ladder matches with Shawn Michaels and IC title matches with Diesel and Jarrett. I agree that he had no memorable matches in WCW though his match with Goldberg the night he won the world title was decent. Some of the most memorable angles he was involved in? The fake IC title fued with HBK, the stuff with 123 Kid, Outsiders, nWo and although not in a good way, the Scott Hall is an alcoholic angle. What was his better run; in WCW with the nWo or in WWF as Razor Ramon? Workrate wise, definatley his stuff in WWF but as far as overall entertainment and character, definatley his run with the Nwo and Nash in WCW. Providing that he's sober, do you think Hall could still serve a purpose for WWE or TNA, be it in a wrestling or non-wrestling capacity? Anything more than a one-shot deal in WWE would be pushing it. The guy has demons he'll most likley never escape and I'm pretty sure TNA will never take him back again. Do you think Hall has had a lasting impact on the business? Sort of. He had a certain charisma to him with his facial expressions and mannerisms that certain wrestlers try to capture and the cockiness with his character even as a face is influential too.

1. Are you into the whole "gothic" lifestyle is real life? 2. Do you still keep in contact with Edge and Christian to this day?

Any alternative rock band that came out during the era that STP broke out in was labeled a Nirvana and/or Pearl Jam rip-off so that arguement never held any ground to me. But yea, always been a fan of STP and I wish I still had my old cell phone which had an awesome polyphonic ringtone of "Sex Type Thing".

Post here if you dislike Will Ferrell...
Epic Reine replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Television & Film
Old School and Anchorman were hilarious, everything else he has done hasn't impressed me much. I recently saw Blades of Glory and was very dissapointed with it and I'm hearing bad things about Semi-Pro. The guy is repetitive no doubt, but he definatley had his fair share of funny moments. -
It's pretty hard to pretend the guy never existed. What he did was terrible and I don't respect him as a person despite what every wrestler on the planet will tell you but it's kind of hard to ignore what he did in the ring. If you were to make a list of the top 10 WWE matches of the past decade, Benoit will most likely be in a few of those slots. I'm not saying that as a justification of his heinous doings but despite what happened, it's not like you can just revoke everything he ever accomplished. The man was an excellent performer, killer or not. A lot of people are mistaking the people trying to say this as a justification of what he did or how great of a person he still is when it's really no on both accounts. Really, you can't take away the fact that he was good at what did or bash people who still enjoy vs. Angle at Rumble '03 or vs HHH and HBK at WMXX because HE KILLED HIS FAMILY~~~~~!

Let Me Tell You Bout the Birds and the Bees
Epic Reine replied to Bruiser Chong's topic in General Chat
I have a friend who's exactly the same way. He's 22 and has been with the same girl from about 6 years and he gets so frustrated when he's around her and constantly talks about how much he hates her. I really can't see myself settling down until my 30's but that's only because I'm not with anyone and have never been in a long term relationship so I haven't really experienced "love". If I meet the right person tomorrow, that can all change. -
Teddy was released from development months ago.

Flair also had another retirement match on the Nitro the night after Great American Bash 2000 where he lost to Vince Russo and his son David which also saw the two shave his head. Flair was back in WCW by the end of the year.
