  1. Saw it on Friday and loved it, so fucking funny. The opening trailer with Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey McGuire was hysterial and Robert Downey Jr. was definatley the best character. Tom Cruise was very good as well in his role.

One thing, I wanna clarify: does Speedman still think he's filming a movie once he sets off on his own or is his mind so warped from his co-stars abadoning him that he starts to believe that he's really being held hostage? I know as soon as the director blows up that Lazarus and Co. ain't buying it as a real movie set but I wonder about Speedman.

  2. Yea, I saw Metallica back in '04 and they only played those two same songs from St. Anger (which also got booed heavily oddly enough) but what really surprised me is that they played "Dyer's Eve" which I didn't think they played live at all. I do remember being pretty upset that they didn't play "Fade To Black" but hey, I was only 17 at the time.

  3. I've been working pretty steadily for the past 3 years. Last week, I left my job and am starting a new one on the 19th. Problem is, now I've got nothing to do this whole week that I'm off. Allmy other friends are still working so meeting up with them is out of the question. I never really had any way to stay productive, going online and watching movies all day can only be so entertaining. So, any ideas on what I can do to kill boredom? What do you guys do on your days off around the house?

  4. Ahmed Johnson - Would have been a legit main eventer in late 90's WWF given his charisma but the guy literally got injured every other week and that spelled the end for him.

Berlyn - Great gimmick and fantastic debut promo but they had his debut PPV match against Jim Duggan of all people and then bury him a month after by having him job to freakin' Brad Armstrong clean.

Waylon Mercy - One of my all time favorite characters where he would act like a face outside the ring but immediatley heel it up when he stepped into the squared circle. Dan Spivey was a pretty good worker too but at this point, injuries and age were catching up with him.

Sean O' Haire - Had fantastic vignettes and had the makings of being one of Smackdown's biggest upper mid-carders in 2003. Unfortunatley, he sucked at live promos and he dissapeared for a few weeks before he randomly got paired up with Piper. Piper then got released and O' Haire was shipped off to Velocity before he got injured and faded away.

Tazz - Had a great debut where he handed Kurt Angle his first loss. After that, he wallowed in the garbage hardcore division while jobbing to the Hollys. He was supposed to beat Chris Benoit for the IC title in 2000 but he got injured which is why they did that angle where Benoit kicked a car door onto his arm "injuring" him. Who does Tazz face in his first match back? AL SNOW!

Ultimo Dragon - His debut on Smackdown was hyped for months and they were planting the seeds for a cruiserweight title match with Mysterio at Summerslam '03 but after his debut he was mostly stuck on Velocity, never understood why the company never got behind him since he was still a great cruiserweight and was very marketable, especially towards the kids.

Scott Steiner - Came in still hot off his tremendous heel run from WCW and got good reactions from his first few promos but when he actually wrestled, you knew what was coming for him. The guy was terrible and in no shape to be wrestling at that time, a year later and he's forgotten.

Booker T - Came in hot attacking Austin at KOTR '01 but became every top WWF star's bitch every month after that, seriously, the tag team with Goldust was entertaining but after what he achieved in WCW a year earlier, it made him seem weak. I suppose he doesn't fit here since he never really had a downfall and was always an upper mid-carder/occassional main eventer but he has a really shitty first few months with the company.

WWF's nWo - The angle that got the whole wrestling world talking but jobbing them out and making them look like pussies was the exact opposite of what made them so powerful in the first place.

    There's gotta be more.

  5. We got plenty of cool death scenes though in that movie (the machete into the guy's skull, the arrow through the guy's neck, the knife through the guy's mouth). I liked it because there seemed to be a pretty cool balance. We got a good storyline to make a sympoathetic main character and we saw him get revenge and dished out ass kickings to everyone.

The shit at the end with the flaming cars forming the Punisher symbol though, you got me.

  6. I liked 2004's Punisher a lot actually and think it's probably the most underrated Marvel movie. I thought Tom Jane was great as Castle. This though doesn't look all that interesting, seems to focus more on action than plot unlike the first movie (which is mainly why I liked it so much).

  7. Just started watching this. Borrowed season 1 from my friend last weekend and have been watching all this week. Just finished the episode where Ted wants to bring Robin to his friend's wedding but they won't let him but she winds up not going anyway.

I actually like the show and I never knew Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan could be this funny.

  8. Yea, Dent was supposed to be in Returns but Billy Dee walked out on a contract dispute so they made the Max Shreck character. I don't remember reading if he was supposed to turn into Two-Face by the end of the movie but I know they made Walken's character in light of him walking out.

And yes, if Burton stayed on for "Batman Forever", he would have gotten MARLON WAYANS to play Robin. Burton is a genius and a moron at the same time.
