Alright that works! You have to make a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick right now. Then JHawk has 2 picks, and then you'll have your 5th round pick. Drafted players and keepers are found in post 1, using the browser find feature is pretty hand to see who is left.

Yeah sorry, we have to pause right here to get the replacement manager so they don't get screwed over. We're running ahead right now and are drafting at an awesome pace so far, so I don't see this setting us back to far.

TSM Keeper Fantasy Baseball 2009: Where happens.

Whoever the new manager may be, here's the basic draft rules. When its your turn, make a selection in 18 hours. Before posting who you want to draft, make sure they are not a keeper or drafted already by checking Post number 1 and 2 of the thread. If you may not be online for a period of time and your pick might come up, send me or someone else a list of the top 5 guys you want picked. League rules are in post number 3. EDIT: I offered the tony guy the spot. But whoever posts first is going to get it. I told him if he wants it to hurry the hell up and claim it otherwise someone else will scoop the spot up.

I've been busy, but this is too complicated for me to figure out who's left and ranked where to make a successful pick. It's constant checking and re-checking of past picks and keepers. There has to be a simpler way. Worthless. I take it getting a magazine and circling the guys that have been selected/kept is too challenging. A whole 20 minutes of work. Matt Young is out. We are ahead of schedule big time right now so I'm going to pause the drafting until we get a new manager. Can a mod real quick toss up the 1 spot available in the thread subtitle. The new manager will get to inherit Matt Young's single correct pick of Alex Rodriguez, and they will need to select a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick and then be ready for the 5th round pick which will occur after JHawk's picks.

Sure he's had enough time already. He's had more than enough time already. I see no reason why we should sit around for 18 hours and then another 18 hours after JHawk goes waiting for him.

If anyone happens to see him on the board, bombard him with pm's telling him to pick. He has 2 make up picks for his mistakes, and pretty soon he's going to have another 2.

Alright I see no reason waiting another 18 hours since this guy's pick is already pending because of the time limit so I'm going to go ahead and draft. I'm skipping Gabe for now. If he hasn't picked by the end of this round we're going to have to entertain the idea of getting a new manager for that team. As for Matt, he's new so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's going to be under the same time span as Gabe for getting these 2 correct picks in. So for my pick I'm taking. Well thats the time limit for Matt Young. JHawk sent me his 2 picks. Second Round Pick... Derrek Lee, 1b Third Round Pick... Jacoby Ellsbury, OF Unfortunately, that brings Matt Young BACK up for another 18 hours. Hopefully he appears during this stint to make both his picks.

ESPN is utter shit. I absolutely detest their setup and layout. Their rankings for players are even surprisingly worse than Yahoo's. There's a reason ESPN have made all their fantasy stuff free the past few years as opposed to charging for that crap any longer... If you want to use it for a player pool for yourself, thats fine, but the league is getting setup in Yahoo in a few days once its up. All of the league history/settings are already setup in Yahoo as well.

Speaking of Joe Mauer... Joe Mauer, C, Twins It seems we definitely have a majority in favor of the rule change so I'm going to add it to the league rules post. The Rule will be a change from our previous Rule K, which stated players not in the player pool were off limits to draft.

Ok MJ has come up with a solid idea for drafting potential rookies before the player pool is opened that I think will be effective and puts all the responsibility on the manager. Alright, I think this is a solid idea. If you draft a guy without 2008 stats that is a Rookie BEFORE the player pool is posted, and he is not in the player pool by the END of the draft, you lose that player as a draft pick and any rights to that player AND will be forced to select someone from the remaining undrafted players. We've only had like 5 or 6 picks so far and I doubt any would feel like they're losing out this potential rule change. MJ is willing to wait out his time limit for his pick, and I draft following him and I'm willing to wait also to give everyone a chance to way in on this if they have a significant opinion for or against it. So the rule would be, In Favor: MJ, Krankor, SteakGrowsOn, Harley, treble, Cheech, Will, Roy, pinjockey, VX, Chris, Brooklyn Zoo, Linx, Cartman, 909 Against:

We do cut the time short in the late rounds and we still barely get the draft completed... No matter if we start now or in 3 weeks, the guys getting drafted in the first three rounds are not going to change. Super star players are super star players regardless of a couple of weeks. Yahoo will have leagues opened up in approximately 12 days or so. 2 more hours and Matt Young is on the clock. EDIT: Matt Young is now on the clock. I sent him a pm. JHawk's pick is pending. If he's not picked by the end of the 1st round, for god knows what reason, then we're going to the two alternate managers. First up, tonyjaymzretro will be given 24 hours to make a pick. If he doesn't pick we'll move on to migoli. Someone is going to make a damn pick.

Wow this is pretty absurd. I did say he had any time on the day to make a pick, but christ, I didn't expect it to take this long... I sent him a pm last night also. Once it hits midnight EST, Matt Young is on the clock and has 18 hours to make a pick.

I don't see it being an issue either. If a guy didn't log any 2008 MLB stats, he isn't going to be in the player pool, unless he's a big time prospect like Evan Longoria and Jay Bruce were last year. Wieters is more than likely going to be in the player pool right away since yahoo has been pimping him like crazy on their main fantasy page. We can't be sure though until the player pool is up. So until that player pool is posted no draft guys without 08 MLB stats. Best case scenario, we're in the 3rd round when the player pool is up. I have my doubts on that happening though. You do have 18 hours per draft pick so like an NFL or NBA game feel free to run some time off the clock to see if a pool gets posted. I still think its a bad draft idea to draft a guy that isn't legit proven before round 3 at the earliest. Even then he has to be a guaranteed sure thing for me to pull the trigger on him. I'm not really one for gambling in the early rounds when I'm trying to get guaranteed production.

Looks like CBS Sportsline has some stuff up. Not sure how great it is. CBS Rankings Probably better than nothing.

Alrighty, drafting stats tomorrow Feb 2nd. Once JHawk makes the first selection the 2009 TSM Fantasy Basbeall Keeper League Draft will be officially underway! Same general draft rules as last year apply. You have 18 hours to make a draft pick. This will be shortened later on. You can not draft anyone that is listed as a keeper. Period. You can find the official Keeper list in the 2nd post of the thread and also again in the third post. If you think a guy might be a keeper and can't find him, use your web browsers find feature and search him out. If you select a guy that is a keeper, you have till the end of your allotted draft time to make a legal draft pick. Which until we need to shorten rounds is 18 hours from the time the manager prior to you made their draft pick selection. If a correct pick has not been made within 18 hours, the next manager in the draft order is officially on the draft clock to make their draft selection. If you're looking for player lists since the yahoo player pool won't be up for 2 weeks, the Fantasy Baseball magazines and registers are already starting to flood the news stands. If you're not going to be online, pm someone your picks. After you make your draft pick, pm the next manager that it is there turn to pick to expedite the process.
