    The TSM Weight Loss Contest

I'm not even going to bother weighing myself this week. I've been brutally sick. I assume I lost weight due to lack of any appetite. Just put me down for what I was last week.

Alright Brooklyn Zoo isn't keeping David Ortiz, via pm. Updated that. Time for the coin flip. Elgin Baylor will be the official grand marshal since he's so accustomed to the lottery process proceedings. http://www.random.org/coins/ That's the site I used. Apparently it uses atmospheric noise to come up with the randomness, sounds impressive. 1 coin flip. Matt Young will be heads since he signed up first. JHawk will be tails since he was second. JHawk will have the first pick. Matt Young will have the second pick. Draft proceedings will begin anytime on February 2nd when JHawk makes his first pick. Even though, we already know who its probably going to be. If you want to edit your keepers, be sure to post or pm me BEFORE Midnight EST Sunday, February 1st so I have time to do any last minute modifications to the draft list.

Welcome back MJ! We're at 20 now. Could a mod remove the "Spots Available" from the Thread Sub-Title? We're using the Yahoo system again. I'll go back and look in the old thread and see if I can determine when the player pool was up last year. EDIT: Leagues open February 6th last year. Doubtful we'll even be done with Round 3 by that point. By the time anyone would consider drafting a guy that didn't play in the bigs last year, the Yahoo player pool should be up. It really makes no sense to draft a guy that early anyway if he has never played a day in the bigs. If they logged MLB statistics last season, they will be in the player pool. The early portion of the draft always goes at a snails pace anyway so I don't think it'll be a real big issue.

I always find the news stories on obesity entertaining. Mainly because they always have the stock video of the fat ass walking down the street. Minus their face. Like that person doesn't know that's their fat ass walking down the street.

    The TSM Weight Loss Contest

165 I haven't really done a whole lot so far except trying to eat better. I was eating pretty horribly before. So I'm trying not to be as gluttonous. I hit the exercise bike once so far and that was two days ago. Yesterday, I got to whip 50 pound boxes around for about an hour. I'm pretty sure that classifies as exercise.

Awesome! That was quick! You're in. Still 1 possible spot available, I'm 90% sure MJ won't be back but it won't be official until the 25th that he isn't returning. So, if there is anyone interested in the possible spot opening I'd suggest posting now. It may not be open but might as well state your claim now if it becomes available. First come first serve.

Ok, I'll re-edit the draft list and keepers subtracting Vern's picks. Could a mod add this to the thread's subject sub-title... "Spots Available!" I highly doubt MJ is returning since last year he said this was the only thing bringing him to the forum. I'll give him to the 25th until he's officially declared out. A random number generator will determine the order between the new teams in the draft, like always.

I sent both him and Vern pm's. I guess we'll give them until the 25th or 26th then we'll make their spots available for 2 new teams. Updated the keeper list for pinjockey.

Alright, Matt Young will be taking the spot vacated by Popick. I updated your keeper listing Roy. Styles and Gagne are the last two managers that haven't checked in.

Oh what the hell. If I can drop 20 pounds or so or at least 15 with more definition, I'll be back to normal for me. 5'9 166 lb I just bought a ton of new pants and I don't intend on buying anymore until these are riddled with holes. Might as well start the diet off right with a night of heavy, heavy drinking.

List things that don't interest you

Computer Games: They may be entertaining but I have a lot better way to spend 18 hours of the day. Computer Games that are in development: Who cares about something that doesn't even exist yet? Disney related shit: People love this shit. I don't know why. Disneyland, Disney world, fucking mouse. I don't care. This is some of the shit that would come out of my ex's mouth. Anything that comes out of my ex's mouth: Her mouth starts moving, and I start thinking about things that don't normally interest me like golf. Golf: If I need a visual sedative, this is the sport I choose. Cars: Some older cars are fun to drive and speed around, but other than that I don't give a shit. As long as my car's breaks work and the car runs I'm set. Car Accessories: Rims, tinted windows, stereo system, tv in the steering wheel, gps system, airplane wing on the trunk... All useless garbage to me. I'll be interested once I can make a cup of coffee in my car, while driving to work. Cell Phones: I don't care about cell phones at all. It's a fucking phone. I don't care how much your phone cost, or what it can do, or what stupid ringtones you purchased. No one, cares. Your Boss: I don't care what he did to you. You probably had it coming. And the answer is yes, I think he's out to get you. He goes home and plots and schemes about it. Political Commentators: There has got to be a Tony Little infomercial on somewhere that's more interesting than what comes from these half wits. Poker TV: Why is this on TV? Who is at the edge of their seat watching this crap with glee and excitement? MY GOD LOOK AT THE RIVER!!!! no. Why doesn't ESPN start showing all facets of casino gambling? I'll tune in to watch old lady on a stool with a bucket of nickles at the slot machine before poker. Saturday Night Live: No explanation necessary.

Figured you'd definitely want Tulowitzki. He's a damn nice bargain at Round 13. Hell, I've tried trading for him the past 2 years because of that value. I updated the 3 posts to reflect the changes. Still waiting on a new manager.

We're definitely going to need the time. At the end of last season, it seemed like things sort of fizzled out with the commish and we didn't get a lot accomplished in the off season in the ways of resolving some questions. I'm just going to sort of act as the commish as long as no one else in the league has any problems with it. I've got plenty of experience running fantasy sports leagues. I run a basketball and football league every year and we never have any problems. I have access to the internet at work and at home and I'm always accessible. This is my favorite fantasy baseball league that I'm in and I don't want it to get too late in the season before we start drafting since it always seems to take us right up to opening day for us to get done with drafting. I've sent MJ a pm letting him now that I'm going to get the league started but I haven't gotten any sort of response yet. Hopefully he will at least be back to participate in the league with his team. I was going to wait another week or so to get this started but then I noticed that only 13 out of the 20 teams actually posted keepers at the end of last season. I know some teams were unsure of the number of keepers since the commish never set it in stone. It seemed that everyone was going with 6 keepers as the number of keepers for this year. I'm going to send out pm's to everyone in the league telling them the thread is up. Everyone needs to make sure their keepers are correct and confirm that they are still going to be in the league this year. I'm sure we will have at least a few spots opening in the league for new teams as we always do. There was also discussion last year that never was resolved about what we want to do with the length a team can have a keeper. Some people wanted no limit, some wanted a 3 year limit, and some wanted a combination of the two. We can hash this out once we get all 20 teams confirmed and keepers locked in. Last year we started drafting around Feb 5th or 6th and that was just enough time to get done drafting before opening day so that's the time I'm shooting to start the drafting. We had a great finish in the playoffs last year and crowned a new champion that came all the way from fourth in the standings to win the title. Anyways, I’m quite excited about baseball this year and I think we’re going to have a great year!

Everyone slated to return next season has turned in some form of tentative keepers. My god, I went back and looked at Precious Roy's team weekly results. Including the post season, he won 10 straight match ups to end the season. Going back slightly further, he won 13 out of the last 16 match ups... That's 4 months of utter dominance.
