YAY!!! I have less hope for the team this year than I have since Ricciardi was hired. Part of it is the three-headed monster on top of the division, but a lot of it is that the front office has done NOTHING. I hope you guys like Kevin Millar! Why the Jays keep on signing the Os outcasts is beyond me, but its kind of funny. The Os/Jays have some sort of cast off program going. Parish/Zaun to the Os Millar/Burres to the Jays and I know it goes further back..

Blockbuster is going to start renting games online through their Online DVD rental program. Im not sure if Im going to opt in or not if theres a price increase. For $20 a month I've been grandfathered into their plan with 3 DVD rentals out plus unlimited returns in store and 2 free rental coupons that can be used on games in store as well (this same plan now is like $30 and I dont think the coupons are good on games with newer plans). their new games plan would allow online rental of games plus returning the games to the store for 1/2 price game rentals. It would make more sense for me to continue to rent games free for a week I think but I'll wait and see the complete details whenever it comes out.

Interesting article about the almost "depression of 1920" and yes, this was mentioned by Glenn yesterday. Its pretty fun to find out something I never learned about in school. Hell, I think we completely passed over Harding's presidency since it was so short.

The idea that the GOVERNMENT HAS TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND TO SAVE THE COUNTRY is an overblown, bs excuse to plow through pork spending that they otherwise couldn't get passed under the impression that its going to create jobs and stimulate the economy and make things better. This is the same thing they were saying back in the fall when they ABSOLUTELY HAD TO PASS THE BAILOUT BILL RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE OR ELSE..and we saw how that turned out..the money was wasted and the banks need even more money a few measly months later. I just hope they loaded up all the pork they could get in for the next 3 1/2 years because I really want to see them come begging for more money again to save the economy again, hopefully a few more people will look em straight in the eye and laugh.
