120 hz isn't whats adding to the cost of the tv, its the processing power needed to create the extra frames inserted that aren't there via a process called Temporal Interpolation. The more horsepower the tv has, the better this will be and the better the smootness of the video will be, not even including each companies' anti-judder processes which have an effect as well.

    Saw V - Opening October 24th

I got it on regular DVD, I had heard that none of the previous SAW movies look that great in HD though the PQ is good. You can get the first 3 at Wal Mart for $10 a pop on BR but I think IV is regular price.

    Tax raises?

Theres no way that a large government has any chance of being effective. Too much red tape, hoops and hurdles, too many people involved, etc. Also, a national sales tax would be great, but I imagine at some point one will be instituted even though you'll still have taxes taken out of your paycheck. Most states do it that way and its just a matter of time before the federal government goes down that road too.

    Saw V - Opening October 24th

I think the saw blades and the shrinking room trap were two of the best in the whole series, whereas the water cube one was a huge disapointment and the pendulum wasn't anything special. Overall it was actually a lot better than I thought it would be, mainly because there was more of a backstory to it and not all about "lets see what crazy things we can think of to kill people".

    Changes made by Barack Obama

I guarantee if they push it back to June, it will get pushed back again in May. This would be the 2nd time its been pushed back anyway.

Im kinda back and forth between these two tvs Samsung 40 inch 120 HZ LG 42 inch 120 hz The Samsung is $1199 and qualifies for the 200 NFL Rebate. The LG is $1299 and comes with an X Box 360 Pro console which I would likely flip back on Ebay for $200 (?) making the price cheaper than the Samsung for 2 inches more. I looked at both and they looked pretty much the same, and my best buy had neither in stock BUT the store in Dover has both and as an advantage I'd save about $70 in sales tax. Decisions..decisions..blah

    Tax raises?

In a related topic, I can sympathize with Geithner over Turbotax screwing him over. I just tried to use their free file online service to do my taxes and they were claiming I was due a $600 rebate recovery credit, which I had never heard of and Turbo Tax doesn't provide any info on it. Turns out you're only eligible for that credit if you didnt get a stimulus check last year, which I got. So if I had kept going with Turbotax (I decided to try another free file option which actually guided me through the RRC process and told me I wasn't eligible for it) I would have been in $600's worth of trouble with the IRS. But, anyway..I made $4k more this year and actually got back more money thanks to my 401k and student loan interest.

    95% of wrestling fans

I think he means 95% of the people in the sports news/coverage industry dont watch wrestling, which would be why there was no backlash towards him when WWF made him do stupid stuff.

I know sears has one of the better plasmas on sale for $899 thru Saturday if your store has it (in a similar deal, my BB doesnt have the 46 inch..BOO) but I might have to take a look at the Sony for $1000 at BB considering they're running 3 years no interest and I already have a BB account. EDIT: Best Buy is wrong about the Sony though, its not 120hz if its a kdl42v4100 which is the V Series Bravia. Im not touching a LCD thats not 120 hz.

    Executive Orders

Terrorists took down the World Trade Center. Do you not think they could take down some silly prison to break them out if they wanted (which would be more likely than the prisoners themselves escaping on their own)? Really far fetched but so is taking two planes and knocking down 2 skyscrapers. I like the idea of sticking them on Alcatraz, but you just know Nancy Pelosi woiuldn't like that one bit. They should take some of Obama's infrastructure stimulus and rebuild Alcatraz. Tons of jobs and construction work for the fine people of SF, how could she argue with that? John Murtha says he'd take them in his district but he only has a minimum security prison in his district so he's talking out his ass because they'll never send them to a minimum security prison. Keeping them at Alcatraz was Pelosi's idea, actually. You also realize that their resources and networks in terrorist countries (like, not the United States) made the planning process a lot easier, right? Just because "they" (because it isn't really the people we're talking about since the ones who did it died in the process) can put together a murderous plot doesn't mean they can act on it. They aren't all MacGyver or something, how the fuck would they ever escape? A sympathetic guard? Someone leaves a door open? "Terrorists took down the World Trade Center" makes it sound like they're all Superman. They're subhuman cowards who have been deprived of their tools for destruction. There is no harm at all in closing this alternate universe prison and putting them on the mainland for their trials, trials which will hopefully be executed properly and legally so as to avoid any grey areas or excessive Arab resentment on top of the steaming pile that Gitmo's already created for our reputation. FALSE Of course it was a Republican, and yeah, it was probably a cheap shot at Pelosi, but I would dare say that Alcatraz, if it were upgraded and all, would probably be one of the safest places in the continental United States to house the detainees should they need to come to the mainland.

The US Economy and Current Financial Crisis

I like how now its going to cost only a measly $3.5 TRILLION to fix the banks now. Hopefully the banks can waste that too and the government can just declare fuck it and buy the banks and nationalize em already instead of playing this BS game.

Directv added Comedy Central HD yesterday. I missed South Park in HD which I think is the only HD show they have at the moment.

John Murtha says he'd take them in his district but he only has a minimum security prison in his district so he's talking out his ass because they'll never send them to a minimum security prison. The most rediculous part of this whole thing is that they set a date and don't have a clue how they're going to meet that date yet which is why I say GB wont be closed in a year. I dont think there is any country that would dumb enough to take them even if we paid them a ton of money, and it would be very likely that if that did happen, they would be put somewhere that is way less secure than even one of our minimum security problems ("Hey, they dont want to kill us, why should we care if they escape, we got the United States' Money! Suckers.") I also found it hillarious that President Obama didn't know the complete details about his own EO's, he had to have help from Greg Craig to explain them, and then he basically just repeated what he said.

    The 2008 MLB Offseason Thread

As big of a fan of Roberts as I am, no way he's worth 15 million a year (more than Markakis is getting on average over his 6 year deal). I think that unless they get anyone that plays 2B in a trade or some other means, Ryan Freel would probably play 2B. Hes currently listed as Roberts backup on the Os website's depth chart and I am unaware of anyone in the minors that is ready to play now that could replace Roberts.

    The 2008 MLB Offseason Thread

Brian Roberts supposedly turned down a 3/30 offer which makes it seem to me as if he wont be playing for the Os this year. I dont think they'll give him more than 10 a year or more than 3 years.

    The 2008 MLB Offseason Thread

Adrian Gonzalez is the only player making more than $5 million on the Padres that doesnt have a no trade clause and he isn't a free agent until after 2011. If I thought the Os had a package of players that could get him Id be all over it, he would absolutely mash the ball in OPACY.

    The 2008 MLB Offseason Thread

I heard that the Cubs would use Olson in a trade for Peavy since the Padres really love Olson. The Os could have traded Olson for Greene straight up but didnt because he's a FA after this upcoming season.

    Salmonella Scare

Im amazed by the number of people that wash their hands and then use the doorknob or whatever to open the door, negating the last 20 seconds of their life. Oh, and this reminds me of the video I had to watch in Sanitation class about how bad of a dude Sal Monella was. ugh

    The current economy

Wow - just as I read this I looked up and the commercial came on. Weeeird.. I saw the Nutrisystem crap at Big lots for 50 cents a meal, and even at that price its a horrendous ripoff, I cant imagine how much they charge full price for that crap. Buy a juicer, even though fresh veggies are a tad bit more expensive, the end result is much better than the processed crap if you are drinking juice like that for your servings of vegetables. Oh, and as far as being thrifty..I work 6 days every 2 weeks. Those 6 days I get 3 meals for free (or basically all the food and drinks that I want within some reason). I have a ton of food in the house but since I dont have to cook very often I can usually go a long while without having to buy much food. Also, for the past year or so I dont eat out very much anymore. Its too expensive compared to what I can do with groceries at home or whatnot. I dont know how people can keep affording to eat out so much these days..

You'd have to be blind to not somehow see the comparisons to Lincoln, his image consulting team is being pretty blatant about it. Link Lincoln's 200th birthday would be next month too.
