Whats going to make things worse is, I think the worst of it has happened to the banks, but now businesses are suffering due to consumer spending falling of dramatically. Layoffs will inevitably happen bringing the pain the banks were feeling 2 months ago straight home when people are laid off. I dont think a lot of that will happen before the holidays due to the holidays, but after the new year is in its probably going to get ugly. And then the people who saw the government give about a trillion dollars to the banks will get mad when theres no money to help them out.

If people actually voted against the party in power when they didnt like what was happening, they at least wouldnt have voted to put more Democrats in Congress, especially after their "common sense plan" to lower gas prices was an epic failure (Gas prices doubled over the two years Dems had control). But wait, Gas prices miraculously dropped back to 2006 levels in 2 months just in time for the election to make gas prices a non issue...weird

The Cubs are supposedly still interested in Roberts, and that will hinge on whether or not the Os can get Roberts to sign a contract extension.

Has Santino ever used his new Masaerati finisher yet? Back in August at the house show here he was saying he had a new finisher but didnt get to use it and Ive not seen him do any new moves. -
I dont see how Obama could have won the Dems nomination if he wasn't a US Senator.

I would have to think that if she can get in the Senate through Stevens vacated seat, that 3+ years experience in the Senate, which was enough for Obama, would be enough for her to be taken seriously. As far as conceding the Presidency til 2016, they can't do that, and the GOP can't wait til 2012 to start trying to get seats in Congress back. They had to start yesterday for preparations in 2010 midterm elections. I dont see how the Dems can gain more seats for a 3rd straight election with Congress' approval rating actually being worse than it was in 2006 and no real indication that things will be any different than they were for the last 2 years. It will have to have a similar result to Clinton's first two years as president with the Dems in Majority and the GOP took control in 94, which was coincidently the beginning of his better years as President.

Hernandez is relegated to backup duty and trade bait because of Matt Wieters that is pretty much a 99.999% lock to happen on Opening Day. Mora could be relgated to a bench/ part time DH role (or traded?) if they sign Teixiera (or anyone else) to play 1B and move Huff to 3B. Sports Illustrated had an article suggesting they move Roberts to SS where he played 50 some games back in 2001, but they must have missed where he made 14 errors in those games because he had no arm then and certainly doesn't have any more of one 7 years later, and its not like they have any hot 2B prospects to fill in at 2B either. SS is a hole, but I have heard they are interested in a few guys such as Kahlil Greene who can probably be had fairly cheap due to injuries. The bigger problem is definitely pitching. Outside of Guthrie, they didn't have anyone who was Consistent, Good and Healthy the whole year. Towards the end of the season must have used 7 or 8 different guys picked up off waivers due to injuries for the 2nd straight year. They have a couple of promising pitchers in the farm system, but all signs point to them not being ready til 2010 at the earliest.

2 points: 1) Alaska law requires a special election to be held for a vacant Senate seat within 90 days of the seat being vacated, though the Governor can appoint an interim Senator until the seat is filled. 2) There is no federal statute against Ted Stevens running again in the special election even if he is kicked out of the Senate instead of resigning, as that is a state law issue and I haven't heard what Alaska law is on that scenario.

Sarah Palin called Glenn Beck directly like 3 times to try and get an interview done (which was eventually done) and he played the recordings today and I kinda felt sorry for her because it was clear that no one in the campaign was doing anything for her at the time and she was forced into doing it herself, which at the same time is pretty amazing. Glenn explained that when interviews are done like that its usually through a handler that pretty much does all the work up to the point where he would introduce her, including all of the calls to set up the interview and the like. I would love to see what she could do in 4 years with more foreign policy experience (The Washington Post suggests she could run in a special election for Ted Stevens Senate seat should he win, which would mean she'd have about the same amount of Senate Experience than Obama had) and running her own campaign instead of being tied to McCain's. Palin/Jindal right now is my dream ticket in 2012, even moreso than having Romney run, unless of course Obama cant keep the economy from completely tanking and then..its Romney due to the Economy.

Wouldnt suprise me if he goes to Baltimore too. The Os need starting pitching desperately. Other than Guthrie, they've got no one. I hear they're in for just about everyone but Peavy and Sabathia, which includes the traitorous Mike Mussina of all people, as well as Burnett, Sheets, Vasquez and others.
-
W may go directly to jail, will not pass go, will not collect $200 The sad thing is, if that went to a regular jury I think Bush would end up on death row.
-
I imagine the Os will overpay him just to land a decent starting pitcher even though I really doubt theres a lot of interest from many other teams.

They wont be equal parties, but I can totally see the Conservatives of the Republican party wanting out of the Republican party now that the Moderates in the GOP are saying that they have to move left in order to remain relevant as a party. I dont see the true Conservatives of the party standing for that, but unfortunately I really dont think there are enough of either group to make two parties that will be able to stand up against the Dems, so if thats their only worry then it wont happen.

You can come get my HDTV. I was looking at buying a newer one and they were going to charge me $100 to remove mine since its not a normal removal (it weighs over 200 lbs and has to go through a window to get it out). Ive actually contemplated putting it up on a site like freecycle to get rid of it so I dont have to spend more than its worth to get it out. I certainly can't lift 200 lbs myself. As for the crocs, you'll have to pry them off my cold, dead feet. Oh, and I will party to the fact it looks like Al Franken wont be headed to Washington. YAY

You're missing an S in there somewhere.

I'm healthy now but when do I get the free health care? When you move to Canada.

the Ravens need to be on the phone with Hall and his agent and bugging the hell out of him to come play in Baltimore.

I think it should keep going for 2012. Romney's gonna kick Obama's ass in 4 years.
-
He is a senator, you know. You know, that's one thing I've never been clear on. Will he go back to the Senate, or is his term up? He obviously didn't run for the Senate... Hes due for re-election in 2010 so he stays in the Senate for 2 more years and I would bet he'd get re-elected again. Biden won his Senate race tonight rather easily so he'll have to be replaced, with a Democrat probably. Right now, Im just thankful that it doesn't look like the Dems will get 60 seats in the Senate, which would have been an absolute disaster. They'll probably be really close (58-59) though.
