    NFL Week Four

Im trying to figure out how people are thinking Pittsburgh has a chance with a banged up QB, their starting RB out and replaced with a rookie who fumbled twice in his last preseason game and an awful offensive line that let their banged up QB get sacked 8 times last week. All of this feeds right into the Ravens gameplan of getting after Big Ben and shutting down their running game. It will be an ugly defensive game, but the Ravens are built for that type of game just as well. Flacco's not gonna throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs but he wont need to..its more of the same Ravens QB style of managing the football and not making dumb mistakes. The Ravens offensive line has protected him well so far as well, only having been sacked once against admittedly inferior defenses than Pittsburgh, but I think they'll hold up well. The only thing Im worried about is that it doesnt rain and turn Heinz Field into a muck bowl like the last couple of times. That and the Ravens knocking Roethisberger out and Leftwich coming in.

I get it..its that dirty little secret that still lurks around in America despite the fact that the majority of Americans have gotten past it. My mother is one of those lifelong democrats and she now is the proud owner of a John McCain sign that I had to put out in her yard for her. She also asked me to describe what Sarah Palin look to her (since you know, shes blind) and I sort of just left in the akward silence. The crazy thing is, I know she at one point in her life was friends with many black people. I know she REALLY wanted Hillary Clinton to win (she was running on and on about how Hillary should be president back when Bill was still the president) so maybe shes really pissed off but I doubt that can be all of the blame. I dont talk to her enough and dont want to, but anyway.

    Prison Break

I'll get into my Prison Break rant later maybe, but it was cool to see Veronica Donavan (Season 1, played by Robin Tunney) last night in the Mentalist. It was funny because I knew that I remembered her from somewhere and it took me like half the episode before I realized who it was.

Not to dig up the race issue again, but I find it funny that the media comes out and goes nuts over White People supporting McCain by a 10-20 percent margin depending on the poll and trounces all over white people for being racists, and yet a poll also came out that showed black People are supporting Obama over McCain by like 90+ percent and they're just being a part of history or something... You cant have it both ways though..

I'm actually gonna go ahead and predict Mike Huckabee for that one. Are we REALLY talking about 2012? That's just dumb speculation. [space omitted] **cough**Bobby Jindal**cough** I thought he and Palin would battle it out in 4 years until McCain picked Palin for VP. They were the two rising stars of the Party. Jindal could be the guy but if Obama is having trouble cause he's black, just imagine how much trouble Jindal will have cause of his Indian roots.

I'm actually gonna go ahead and predict Mike Huckabee for that one. Huckabee? I think youd have a better shot convincing me the Republicans would go with Ron Paul in 2012. As far as Barr goes, I thought very highly of him earlier and Glenn Beck did 2 or 3 interviews with him but its fairly clear that he's hitched his wagon to the Liberarian party but is clearly only libertarian in the name of the party beside his name. As far as the Wall Street bailout goes, I cant say that I support it, but its a necessary evil in order to prevent further chaos.

Party loyalty is a spiffy word for brainwashing, and it tends to be learned through your family that you are brought up in, which explains why certain areas of the country have stayed with one party for rediculously long periods of time. They seem at least a little similar to me. Should Obama win, I have no idea who the Republicans could run in 2012 that could defeat Obama. McCain wins and I have a good feeling its President Hilary Clinton in 2013.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26803840/ And hey, maybe McCain would have 20% more votes if it weren't for party prejudice. Do you know there are some people who will not vote for another party's candidate no matter what? Holy shit, you're a moron. People CHOOSE their party, can switch parties, and there are difference between them. People who'd vote for someone or not vote for someone just because of their party are basing that decision on a choice the candidate made about who they want to be associated with. People cannot CHOOSE their race, switch races, and there are no fundamental differences between them except superficial differences in outward appearance. What race you are says nothing about your fundamental values, who you will associate with politically, or your values. For you to equate the two is an acknowledgment of some pretty fundamental ignorance on your part. You missed my point. How many people will vote for their party's candidate running for any office just because they represent the party that they are affiliated with, completely ignoring everything everything else about the candidates except for the fact that they share the same political party. Just because a person is a member of your political party is a pathetic reason to vote for someone, just like basing your vote on race is. "Im not gonna vote for Obama because he's black (and Im white)" is essentially the same as "Im not gonna vote for Z because hes X party (and Im Y Party)". Now if people of a party go out and vote for a member of their party after doing research about both candidates, thats fine with me. But I have a feeling that a small to decent sized percentage of voters only go and "pull the lever" for people who are of their party taking nothing else into consideration.
