  1. Ive liked JBL as the WWE Champ. Hes done a good job to get everyone against him, but I think it too early for him to lose the belt, especially considering he may have to face The Big Show at SS04 (which btw, please dont be the last free Sky PPV, although I thik Sky are losing interest in the WWE, they have shifted RAW from Friday to Thursday and PPVs from Sky Sports 1 to Sky Sports 2). Imagine JBL, "Ive just beaten the UT, now Im up against TBS? O crap" I like the build to Angle-Show as well. TBS was humilated, I think this will surprise everyone. Its nice to see TBS as a face, since he can be funny. Eddie-Luther could indeed be the sleeper. I think Luthers got a decent moveset. That reverse sit-out neckbreaker looks wicked, whilst the double arm underhook butterfly suplex is sweet. All he needs is a good worker, cue Latino Heat. Cena-Booker. O how the mighty have fallen. Hopefully, this will surprise everybody and be better then the 1st 4 matches. Cena needs helping and fast. Rey\RVD vs Kenzo\Dupree. I dont mind the team of Kenzo\Dupree. At least they are not stale like Rey Rey and RVD. Like all the matches before it, its a case of hit or miss on the night. London-Kidman. Please give them 15 mins, please please please. By far, on paper, Match of the Night. Spike-Nunzio. Ive liked the boss, makes a change. Let them enjoy themselves out there and this will surprise alot of people. 6 Man Tag Match: Beats Dawn-Marie & Jackie for sure. Hass is looking good of late. Cant say the same about the others. Overall a good card. SDs best since last years Vengence (which was in July for crying out loud) and WWE best since Bad Blood and Backlash.
  2. Ahhhhh, I see. Is that normal for titles to be on the line whilst participating in a indy tourney? Also, is there going to be a rematch? When was the TPI? Is it organised by IWA-MS?

Article I did on the CZW license issue

I hear you Kido and agree with you. Shame about the Funkster, he would have fit right into CZW.

Would a wrestling Bret Hart entice anybody? I add his name to Hogans and Austins.

    Russo resigning

I liked the Championship Committee idea too but think it should have been Race, Jack Briscoe (or Dory Funk Jr if he doesnt train anymore that is), Greg Valentine, Ole Anderson and Lex Luger. Thes people have legitimate connections with NWA and were all multi-champions. Rhodes still wrestles. Larry Zbysko achieved what exactly. Steamboats in RoH. I dont think Funks retired. If done properly it would be great. Nobody can question Race's, Briscoe's, Valetine's and Anderson''s spots and the role of Luger would be a tweaner making the decisions (since Briscoe and Valetine would cancel out Race and Anderson). They would have to vet, endorse and make stips for all championship matches. DoA takes care of everything else. Come on, get over the NWAs history, I mean you are using THE World and Tag straps for crying out loud.

    Russo resigning

I know he gets alot of stick, but I like Vince Russo in his latest role as DoA. He adds to the product, is not taking the spotlight off anybody (unlike the name mentioned by slimm44) and has been involved in good angles (again referring to the tag team tourney and road to the cage). I still think that he can be a good booker when he isnt trying to shock everyone. I think he is a changed man and that his conversion isnt a work. He now portrays a good image on TV. Im going to be flamed for this, but I like Jarrett too. I like him as THE World Champion, and the length of the reigns. He adds value to the belt in the sense that he makes it mean something, like HHH (who IMHO is creating the next Rock in Shelton and the next HHH in Orton, shame he couldnt do the same for Cena into - people are going to laugh at this - the next Stone Cold Steve Austin). He could do that to put over somebody is exceptional (Orton cuts good promos and his bumping is fantastic whilst Shelton is so good as being cocky and can really work the mat well) and young (24/25 bracket). As regards the new DoA I put forward the name of Rowdy Roddy Piper. Coincidence, I think not.

    TNA Impact preview for 10/8/04

I dont mind Rowdy Roddy Piper, he generates interest. But the focus of his appearance shouldnt be on him or just him making a major announcement. Nor should he wreslte if its a one night only thing. It should be to put somebody else over. Imagine, he could bring Sean O'Haire with him, and manage him & Kenney in a team called Gaelic Pride! (Ken Shamrock could be a future member too!)

    TNA Impact preview for 10/8/04

This is good news. Direction and making THE World Title mean something. It also makes people want to watch the show, due to the existence of competition. I also like the brackets, meaning we could have a Brown-Hardy final or a Raven-Hardy final or a Brown-Abyss final or a, heaven forbid a Raven-Abyss final. I think those are matches which would generate interest. Brown & Hardy have issues, I think they could play off the grungy theme of Raven & Hardy, the toughness of Brown & Abyss , or the history of Raven & Abyss. Whoever wins the tourney would be worthy of a title shot at THE World Title. Shame they couldnt expand the tournament, I really liked the tag team one before Jarrett-Styles in the steel cage. They had a hot PPV the week before that. I think AJ Styles and Ron Killings could have been included, but Styles, Killings, Abyss and Raven (along with Harris) has been done before. TNA were doing well around that time, with Americas X Cup (although why Team UK couldnt be Jonny Storm, Burchill, Tighe and Fleisch is beyond me), the tag tourney, the road to the cage (which was anti-climatic, since the winner, Harris, was replaced byStyles, but a lot of intrigue) and a watchable X Division. This created interest. Maybe I am nitpicking, but I would like the idea of the finals opening Road to Victory, then going on to face Jarrett. This makes it mean more, especially if its Raven (after having gone through Brown and then Abyss on the day). The losers, in my example being Brown and Hardy could duel it out for the Number One Contendership at Victory Road. This would mean 3 matches of 6-8 booked.

    TNA Victory Road questions

Well-developed simple stories that mean something and are in good taste, with interesting promos and well booked matches up till the PPV. Having your best wrestlers fighting it out for the titles. Hope of the right people going over. I dont want to sound outdated, but identifiable faces and heels. If Jarrett and Brown wrestle, who is the face? If Jarrett and Abyss wrestle, who is the face? If XXX and AMW wrestle, who is the heel? The cardshould have a good mix of tag, gimmick and pure wrestling matches. In short: a good quality product based on common sense. (Ooops, I forgot, this is wrestling, we cant have what I am asking for, which is way too much. That was me dreaming above.)

    Victory Road Match-Ups

Re: THE NWA world title picture in my honest opinion looks like this - It will most probably be Jarrett-Brown, but who is the face? Also, what stip? How could this possibly have a stip? I agree that Jarrett should keep the belt if he is up against Brown but he needs to go over CLEAN, and that doesnt mean hitting Brown over the head with that blasted guitar or a brawl. If anything, Jarrett jumps Brown before he gets to the ring. If it is Jarrett-Hardy, it has to be a ladder match, hyping up Hardy's ability in such matches. Again, Jarrett should win, as hes overcoming the odds. Least remote, but my favourite, is Jarrett-Raven, although this was killed ages ago, just like Raven-Sabu (which should have been before the ME inovling Jarrett at Victory Road). I still believe Russo should be commenting on this and realise that he prefers Jarrett over Raven (go back to the week before Jarrett-Styles Cage match for the pick), but before he manages to interfere Jim Mitchell takes him out with a steel chair. Hence, Raven turns heel by selling his soul to the devil. This is the only way they can save Raven and the company, since Jarrett, Hogan and Bound for Glory put it on life support. Re: Tag Belts - I like Shane\Kazarian vs XXX, since the Naturals and AMW have been way overused, and are responsible for burying the division. But wouldnt this be Ultimate X 5? They are are going to ruin this idea like HitC, the last good one was HHH-Jericho. Overused special stips decrease their importance, they should only be used as a blow off to a huge feud. It shouldnt be used as a special attraction! Re: Hardy-Kash, why, why, why? Kid Kash should be gunning for the X Division Titles, and so should Jeff for that matter. Only if its for the Number 1 Contendership. Whilst on the X Division, last time I checked, titles not being the main title are there to elevate people. Once your in the ME picture, you dont go back to them, unless out of action for a long period of time. What is AJ Styles doing going for the X Division. He has achieved ME status. That means he is either going for the World Title, or number 1 contendership or an offshot feud derived from the first two. Petey Williams I like, but he should be up against people to solidfy his regin. He is a tweaner. Therefore, put him in with Kash or Lynn. Re: Raven-Abyss. Again, if it does go ahead, should be Number 1 Contendership. They had something with Abyss, a big man who wasnt a hose, but never getting a title shot & Goldy killed him. Re: Outsiders. Why would they align with Russo, when its Jarrett whose bringing them in? I like them coming in though. Old talent can be used to getting younger talent over, but still leave with their reputations intact, hence short stays. Jarrett opens the door for them. They resue him from Brown, ie Nash, Hall, Sean & Shane. The New Klique. Then the next night have them turn on JJJ. Outsiders then lose a tag match (Nash & Hall vs DOUGLAS - major heat with Klique & JAMES - good friend of Jarretts). The stip is Nash cant go for THE world title, but instead Hall wins it after a month or so. We then get Hall vs Douglas for the world title. Imagine the promos. Random Thoughts: Somebody mentioned Christopher Daniels and Jerry Lynn in THE World Title picture. I concur. They both deserve it. I also think that Sting should be made the promoter of TNA. He has never wrestled for the WWE (but lose the face paint and very random apperances - no more than 4 times a year and thats top) Take this email as constructive, a state of TNA address if you will and not getting at anybody. Sorry for long post, but wanted to get that off my chest.

    Victory Road Match-Ups

To get back on topic: (1) Jeff Jarrett vs Raven for the NWA World Heavyweight Title (2) AMW vs XXX vs Naturals for the NWA World Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat Elimination Match (think Benoit/Angle-Edge/Rey-Eddie/Chavo at Survivour Series 2002) (3) Petey Williams vs Jerry Lynn/Kid Kash for the X Divison Title (They could build up Lynn's experience, with Petey having no chance in hell or Kid Kash's arrogance) (4) Abyss vs AJ Styles vs Monty Brown vs Jeff Hardy vs Ron Killings vs Lynn/Kash in a Six Pack Challange for the Number One Conterdership (When Abyss wins hed face Raven) (5) The Elite Guard vs The Wolfpac (If Wolfpac lose, Kevin Nash cant go for the NWA World Title, but then the bombshell would be that Scott Hall wants it) (6) Swinger vs Kenney in a Las Vegas or wherever they are Grudge Match (and after Kenney thumps Swinger, he says SIMON HAS FINALLY SOLVE HIS PROBLEM, and reassumes the Diamond persona) (7) Trinity (as a face) vs Traci for the NEW Womans Title Then one of: (8) 3 Live Kru vs Red/Sabin vs Clarke/Batts vs Kazairn/Shane in a Fatal Fourway or Sabu, Sonny Siaki & Sonjay Dutt with Desire vs Alex Shelly, Dallas & David Young with Goldylocks. Zybsko & Rhodes would greet the fans at the start of the PPV and Russo would be at commentary for Jarrett-Raven (for which Jim Mitchell returns when Raven is about to get the pin, and much to everybodys surprise, knocks Jarrett out? What do you think, too WM17y?) I think that would be an OK card, especially with Raven, Naturals, Kash, Abyss & Diamond going over.

    First Impact Rating

I think it would a good way forward with Impact on FX and a proper Xplosion on FSN, especially with a better time slot on the latter. However, I disagree with monthly PPVs. I think it would be better to have a PPV once every 2 months, something like Febuary, April, June, August and October and December. This means that they would have longer to build up to them and wont clash with the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and Survivour Series. If TNA were to start competing with the WWE, Vince would take notice and squash them.

TNA News From The Powell Report 6/12

That would be great regarding FX, since I live in Malta, the only stuff we get on TV is 6 months old. Regarding Sabu, cant he at least blow off his feud with Raven? That could be a good way to leave the company. What is it with Sonjay Dutt speaking on his behalf though? He does so because . . .? Couldnt Mitchell speak on Sabu's behalf. He could do it via "satellite link". Talk about killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Also, I think its fair enough for Michael Shane to want his costume to look as realistic as possible. Sound is important too.
