His match with the Undertaker at WM17 was good (but not great).
-
Only if we are referring to singles matches - Torrie/Stacey lost Bra and Panties at the Invasion PPV in 2001.
-
Yep, The Dragons kicked ass. Gasnier with 4 tries, and not a mobile phone in sight. Maybe he'll get a start in Game 3. And even though i'm a Dragons fan i have to say - Go QLD! Any other QLD'ers notice that the QLD team is much better when they dont pick 12 fucken Broncos in it?
-
I'm surprised that Jacqueline has got a whole thread dedicated to her! If she's gone it's no big loss, but i'm sure some people will miss her chest. Maybe that's the BIG loss?
-
And does the next episode start with the words "Like sands through the hourglass..."
-
They're almost certainly gonna go that route. Maybe not the slop, but look for Gail Kim to start acting all chummy to Eugene. Given her mental capacity I would have thought Lita was a better match for Eugene. Shame she's already got that fantastic pregnancy angle going!

Styles' Opponent for the Anniversary Show
Australian Pride replied to TNABaddboi's topic in TNA Wrestling
If 'special' means "drugged up has-been who's brained is fried", then I will have to agree with you. -

Been trying to think of guys who only wrestled once on PPV. I haven't seen a lot of the old JCP/WCW, and i havent been including Battle Royals (otherwise WM2 would contribute about 10 football players and Bruno Sammartino). So fare i've come up with The Executioner, who only made the one appearance against the Undertakaker in Decmber 1996. Even though he wrestled elsewhere as Terry Gordy, this character only lasted for one PPV match. Anyone else come up with any - from any organisation?

Long is on Smackdown--they'd have to move Henry and Mack to SD or move Long back to Raw. Since they want to push Jindrak, the latter is unlikely. Who says they need Teddy Long to be a tag team? They could hook up with Coach and he could be their promo man.
-
Could it be possible that they are holding off bringing Mack back to TV until Mark Henry is fit, so then they can launch an assault on the tag team titles? Considering how stale the Raw tag division is it might not be that bad of an idea.
-
Didnt Bret Hart also go after the TV title while he was a member of the NWO? Booker T was the champ at the time, i believe.

The Article that cost Luger the WWF Belt
Australian Pride replied to cawthon777's topic in General Wrestling
If it's for real - thank god for that article, and thank god it prevented Luger from ever holding the WWF title. But part of me finds this rather hard to believe. The WM10 storyline was great (Bret loses to his brother and gets injured, but still comes back to beat the man who took his title 1 year earlier), and I cant imagine they came up with that on the day of the show. -
Even though the weren't fighting over the World title, I'd throw Jericho v Benoit in there as well. And also the Rock v Foley in late 98/early 99 had some belting matches in it.
-
Randy Orton - he's still a bit green but has really been stepping recently.
-
Haven't seen any of those falls-count-anywhere from WCW so i cant add to that, but how about: First Blood The best - Steve Austin vs Kane / KOTR 1998 The next best - Steve Austin vs Undertaker / Fully Loaded 1999 The worst - Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair - Uncensored 1999 (??)
-
Same goes for the Arkansas Hog Pen Match (Triple H vs Henry Godwinn) and the unforgettable Kennel from Hell (Big Bossman vs Al Snow).

Rock vs Mankind vs Shamrock in a cage at Breakdown 98. This was a great match, and the crowd turning on Shamrock (who was a face) and getting behind Rock (who was a heel) was amazing. Had a great ending too.

I'm not gonna disagree with your choices - Jericho and Hunter are the only other options on that program. I do however disagree with writing Benoit off. I'm sure you can agree that the build-up to his match with Kane was pathetic - Kane spent more time with f'n Lita than setting up the match. I think they should set up a match for Vengeance (Benoit vs either Kane/HHH/Y2J/Edge) and promote the shit out of it. Put on some decent looking under card matches. If the PPV still bombs, then take the belt off him at SummerSlam.
-
Couldn't of put it better myself. How can it be Benoit's fault that fans are going cold on him in one city? Blame HHH (and HBK perhaps) - it was bad enough that HHH was holding people down in World title matches, but when he does it to the reigning champ while he's in a completely different feud is just ridiculous.

How many times has a cage match NOT been the ME
Australian Pride replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
HHH and Mankind opened SummerSlam 97 with a cage match. Bret and Owen Hart had their cage match go on second last at SummerSlam 94. Apparently, the battle of the Undertakers was more important than the World Title at that point. The Hardy's had cage matches with both the Dudleys (at Survivor Series 2001) and Edge/Christian (cant remember the event) that went on in the mid-card. -
Yes, but we all know that has more to do with marriage than ability. If the WMXX match was Y2J/HHH/HBK there is no way HHH would have tapped out. Flair got to where he was by wrestling and promo ability, and was able to keep up the standards for over a decade. HHH had one good year (2000), and has been crap ever since tearing his quad. He has stayed on top due to his relationship with Steph, which is why no matter how many world titles he wins he will never be considered to be in Flairs class.
-
Jericho has beat HHH - on Raw in April 2000, and then he got shafted out the title straight away. I doubt he will ever get the closure that Sting got with a clean win over HHH though.
