Which PPV's had no titles change hands,

No titles changed hands at Canadian Stampede in 1997, but it was only a 4 match card. King of the Ring from that same year had no title changes either, unless you include a new king being crowned. I think Survivor Series 02 featured about 5 title matches and the title changed hands in all of them.

    Favourite/Least Fav. Regular Spots

While I'm here. Favourites: Hardcore Holly's dropkick Eddie's 3 Amigos RVD's split-legged moonsault Jericho's running turnbuckle leap into a dropkick Angle's running top rope throw Hated: HBK's back from the dead nip-up Cena's Five knuckle shuffle (and his shoe pumping) Anything from Ric Flair. I could handle him 10+ years ago but now it's just pathetic.

I believe it's the swandive headbutt. BOOMSHAKALAKA comes from the NBA Jam video game when a player does a dunk.

Still better than Jericho, who went from main eventing WM18 to not even being on th Backlash card.

    Stumbled Upon Smackdown!

Mark Henry was getting a decent push prior to his most recent injury. I cant explain why though. D-Lo, Godfather and Ron Killings all got given the flick. So did Ahmed Johnson but he was being groomed for big things before he became an injury-prone waste. Mabel got given a big push in 95, but was crap and they gave up on him.

    What match have you watched...

    I couldn't say one answer - it would be a toss up between Savage/Flair (WM8), Bret/Owen (WM10) and Bret/Perfect (Summerslam 91).

    WWE=Album killers

I actually think using Saliva is pretty fitting for this PPV, considering the build for the main event basically started with Randy Orton spitting in HHH's face. I've hated the songs WWE has used on PPV for the last couple of years. The only one that really struck me as great was "My Way" by Limp Bizkit, which fit the Rock/Austin promo pieces perfectly. Since then it's just the same shit every month, the only exception being Rush.

    Power Rangers: Dino Thunder

Wow, I haven't watched Power Rangers since Amy Jo Johnson (original Pink Ranger) left. I cant believe it's still going.

    Carmella DeCesare arrested

She'll get a (fake) tattoo on her forehead and be the valet for the returning Crush. Or they'll just use her the same way they do Stacey.

    Make a statement

I thought Benoit was doing a good job with his promos in and around Backlash, but it fell away after that, which I think is the fault of both him and the writers. For example, after he beat Kane at Bad Blood he just kept repeating 'Chris Benoit is for real'. To say it once, maybe twice, would have been fine, but he said it 3/4 times, and said nothing of note in between. That cant just be the writers fault. Orton ain't the best either, but he is a lot younger than Benoit so i would hold more hope for him becoming a real good promo guy. HHH was crap at promo's when he first had the World title as well.

Rebuttal: And with good reason. Disregarding the fact that he is HHH's protege, he is easily a better prospect for the role of company flagbearer than Benoit. Not as good at the in-ring stuff for sure, but he has a better look, more charisma, is younger, and is someone the company feels can carry them into the next decade.

    Best crimson mask

I dont have any pics but Shawn Michaels from last years Survivor Series, and the immortal Steve Austin juice-job from WM13 are my favourites.

    I preferred the Can-Am Connection.

How many times have you watched Wayne's World?

When i was a teenager i watched it over and over. Maybe 20 times. Haven't seen it in a few years though. So much funny shit in it though, now i want to watch it, because the phrase "I'll have the creamofsumyoungguy" is stuck in my head.

You can't beat Wild Turkey (if you're a bourbon fan).

    Make a statement

Rebuttal: I've never considered WM10 to be a classic wrestling show, just a wrestling show with a couple of memorable/classic matches on it. Outside of Owen/Bret, Shawn/Razor and Bret's title win there is really nothing else on the show. I'm not sure how others rate it but i've never heard the whole event referred to in glowing terms. Rebuttal: That would be a great idea in theory, but the opinions of the IWC are not even considered valid by WWE so that factor has to be thrown out. They tried to identify with the hispanic audience with Eddie as champ, and I think to a certain degree it worked, but it wasnt a major success along the Austin lines. Rey as champ would make a nice change, as everyone knows he can hang with the big boys but has never been given a big time win over any of them.

    Update on Eddie's "injury"

Unless he needs immediate time off I doubt Eddie will be going anywhere until his feud with Reigns is finished. They should do an injury story at the end of that match, and keep Eddie off TV until The Rumble when he can come back as a surprise entrant, where he eliminates Luther, and maybe win and face world champ Angle at WM21.

    Corny Parody Movies

Space Balls is far and away my fave. The Naked Gun series and the Hot Shots movies are up there. I enjoyed Robin Hood:Men in Tights as well.

    Smackdown Spoilers

We could end up with RVD/Rey as tag champs here. Given some time to work a decent combination up they could be really good. Still both are better suited to singles roles, but pretty much every tag team breaks up and feuds eventually anyway.

    Smackdown Spoilers

Why do they persist in having these sorts of matches? Didn't they learn anything from Kane/Shane? At least JBL is a better seller than Shane (not that that's hard), so maybe it will raise above that standard. Still, I wont be expecting much, so at least there's no way i can be let down by it.

    What are you watching?

I've been watching Ground Zero (from September 1997), which was the first time the WWF had done a 3 hour PPV outside of the big 5. It's not too bad, and i think it got a pretty bad wrap back in 97. Brian Pillman was just brilliant as a heel, shame he passed away the next month. His match here with Goldust was a good match-up, and the post-match angle where he runs off Marlena always brings a smile to my face. Steve Austin got an insane pop when he stunned JR, and then got another when he came down to stun Owen during the tag title match. That was actually the only notable thing about that match, eventually won by the Headbangers. Bret Hart v Patriot is a bit slow, but Bret works the crowd masterfully, and by the end this match is on fire. The place was going nuts when Patriot locked on the sharpshooter. HBK vs Undertaker starts with some great action, but by the end it just becomes ridiculous. I always loved the Taker Tope, which he pulls out to great effect in the post-match. There's not much else on the show. You get a light-heavyweight match between Brian Christopher and Scott Putski, in which Putski does his knee in, which I believe was legit. There's some Mini wrestlers and a three-way between Farooq/Crush/Savio which is just plain boring.

    Unforgiven this Sunday

I thought he was only sitting on 5, like Jeff Jarrett and RVD, which means he would be winning number 6? Still, if he wins, that's a helluva lot of IC title reigns. If Christian wins, he'll be up to number 4, and he's only been in singles since late 2001, and for a lot of that he was still strictly a tag wrestler (with Storm and Jericho). The IC title is such a tramp!

    LOL

The undercard to 1995 wasn't really that bad. Bret/Diesel was a good match with a ridiculous finish. JJ/Razor was also pretty good, and i was happy to see the title change hands. The tag title match was okay, and told a nice underdog storyline. The rest was craptacular, but at least the Rumble match itself had a memorable finish. USD99 is an absolutely ludicrous amount to pay for it. For the record, i think 92 is by far the greatest Rumble ever, but i was also a fan of the 2001 Rumble (won by Austin). I always thought 1990/1991 (the Hogan years) were the worst, and in particular hated the way Hogan beat Mr Perfect for the win.

    Unforgiven this Sunday

I'm actually looking forward to this, but i think that's mainly because i skipped Summerslam. My main worry is the Benoit/Regal tag match against Evo. I'm sure the match will be fine (or at least average), but i keep thinking we'll see a Regal heel turn, and i'm not sure i want to see a Benoit/Regal fued. Of the other matches: Hopefully Jericho/Christian is given enough time to really fire. Should be match of the night by a fare way. I couldn't stand babyface Victoria as womens champ, and i dont see her winning. Kane/HBK should be good. This is the sort of match HBK can really shine in given the opportunity. Another job for Kane? I hope not, but i think he will. New tag champs should be crowned. I actually dont care what happens in the main event, as long as it's a good match. HHH has had his working boots on for most of this year, so hopefully he can do it here with Orton. I dont think Heyman will have much more influence, but there will be some sort of time-filler involving the Divas.
