The OAO Raw is Snitsky in MSG Thread

It should be, as long as Y2J doesn't get a concussion like at Summerslam 2001. That match just looked horrible after that.

vs Savage (WM7) vs Hogan (WM6) vs Rude (WM5) vs Hercules (WM4) vs HHH (WM12) I tell ya, it was damn tempting to put the HHH match at number 1. Next - Chris Jericho

Talk about hard! I agree with you, he is the greatest WM performer in history. The first 4 on the list could be put in any order without argument. vs Ric Flair (WM8) vs Ultimate Warrior (WM7) vs Hulk Hogan (WM5) vs Ricky Steamboat (WM3) vs Ted DiBiase (WM4) vs Crush (WM10) w/Sensational Sherri vs Dusty/Sapphire (WM6) vs Greg Valentine (WM4) vs Butch Reed (WM4) vs George Steele (WM2) vs One Man Gang (WM4) Next - Curt 'Mr Perfect' Hennig

    Favorite nonsensical turns

I still haven't worked out why Vince turned Big Show babyface at WM15. Actually, now that I think of it, I can't work out why any of TBS's turns happenned in 1999. There was like 4 of them. Another one I never got was Roddy Piper turning on Buff Bagwell, and hooking up with Ric Flair, in WCW.

    Favorite nonsensical turns

The whole Angle/Heyman/Big Show thing from late 2002. Babyface Kurt beats heel Big Show for the title. Next edition of SD he comes out and introduces Heyman as his manager, despite Heyman already being Big Shows manager. Then Big Show forgets he got screwed and they all join forces.

    Mid-carder winning the Royal Rumble??

There's a few ways I've looked at this, but it's still too far out to really say what a preferable RR outcome would be. If Eddie loses to Luther at No Mercy, throw in an injury angle to give him a much needed break. Bring him back as a surprise entrant at the Rumble, where he eliminates Luther on the way to the win. If either Angle or JBL are holding the title then the story could pretty much write itself. Have Orton and Batista as the last two in the Rumble, with some screwy Evolution interference handing the win to Batista. Next night on Raw, Vince McMahon comes out and orders a one-on-one match between Orton/Batista for the title shot, and bans all interference. Make it no-DQ, count out etc, so that Batista can really do a number on Orton and bust him open, but in the end he hits the RKO for the win. My early preference for the Rumble is for the surprise winner. Have it be someone like Jericho, coming in at around number 10 and hanging on to win. Then build WM21 as Jericho chasing revenge for being dethroned at WM18. Or go even more surprising and give the win to a solid mid-carder who has never tasted World Title glory before. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin both have the in ring skills to headline WM, but not the recognition with the masses. A win here would be the perfect boost. Shelton could have a good build with the 'HHH has never beaten me' story, and if Kurt Angle was world champ then it shouldn't be too hard to build Haas/Angle. When does Cena's movie come out? If it's getting a cinema release around that time then having him headline WM21 could be a big boost for both him and the movie. With his constant popularity (despite being mega-stale), a Royal Rumble win is not impossible for him at the moment, but unless it does tie in with the movie then I wouldn't give it to him.

    Bret Hart or Ric Flair

Every couple of weeks there seems to be an argument, or 'lively discussion', about which of these guys is better. I thought we might as well have a poll on it to see what the board comes up with.

The Torch posts Best Ever Mania card...

As another option you could do 3 hours of show from say 1-4 in the afternoon, followed by a couple of hour break before resuming for the last 3 hours. This would enable people to leave and have a break while getting something to eat and stuff like that. Tickets could also be sold for either the whole day, or an either/or basis if you only want to see one of the shows. Obviously, the whole show's schedule would need to be known in advance for that to work. It would be a long day, but no longer than a music festival. Again though, as RRR said, it may dilute WM as a whole by doing so.

You could always make a weekend of it and do it over 2 days - 3 hours Saturday, 3 hours Sunday.

The Torch posts Best Ever Mania card...

Personally, this is the sort of 'Ultimate WM Card' I'd like to see: Steve Austin (WM13) vs Hulk Hogan (WM5) - for all the reasons previously stated in this thread, with the only difference being I'd have Austin go over. HHH (WM16) vs Razor Ramon (WM10) - I don't know what it is but something tells me this could work, with cool heel HHH vs cool face Razor. I tend to think HHH works better against guys smaller than him, but I think these two could make it work. Kurt Angle (WM17) vs Ken Shamrock (WM14) - a Submission Match between these two has had me curious since Kurt started using the ankle lock. There may be more high profile wrestlers to use against Kurt, but this is my personal preference. Bret Hart (WM8/13) vs Randy Savage (WM5) – A PPV match between these 2 in their WWF primes would be a blinder, plain and simple. A match I always wanted to see after they squared off on different sides at the 89 Survivor Series. Curt Hennig w/Bobby Heenan (WM7) vs Ricky Steamboat (WM3) - 2 superworkers, cocky heel Hennig vs likeable face Steamboat, given some time a great wrestling match should ensue. The British Bulldogs (WM2) vs Chris Benoit/Dean Malenko - The Benoit/Malenko tandem didn't do anything of note in WWF/E, outside of some 6 man tags. Still, this would be a nice way to get Benoit and Dynamite in a match together, while including a couple of other guys who deserve a spot. Eddie Guererro (WM20) vs Tito Santana (WM1-8) – just made this up for some Latino flavour. Tito gave his all for this company in the early WM years, and was always a handy stepping-stone to the top, and thus deserves a match on the card. Eddie deserves one as well, and this could be a great match with Tito employing the more grounded style he used against HBK at WM8, and Eddie quickening the pace. Shawn Michaels (WM10) vs The Rock (WM17) – can’t leave these two out, so I’ll throw them together. Andre the Giant (WM1/2/3) vs Big Show (WM16) – for historical purposes, but as stated prior a match between these two in their peak physical conditions would probably be a surprise. Demolition (WM5) vs Owen Hart/Yokozuna (WM11) – All these guys gave decent service to the WWF, and would play out like the Demolition vs Andre/Haku match from WM6, only Owen is a better worker than Haku, and Yoko (at the time) was better than Andre (at the time). Kane/Undertaker vs Arn Anderson/Tully Blanchard – let’s see what the two workers can do with the Brothers of Destruction, before the inevitable ending where UT keeps his streak alive. Other matches – Chris Jericho vs Rick Martel, Roddy Piper vs Ric Flair, Honky Tonk Man vs Marty Jannetty (don’t know why, just wanted HTM on the card), Ted DiBiase vs JBL (don’t know who’s the face here, maybe JBL).

    Bret Hart or Ric Flair

As an extension to this comment, I was just trying to think of a guy that they both had high profile matches with to use as a comparison. The only one I could think of was Curt Hennig, because they both wrestled him in 1993 (Ric on Raw in January, and Bret at KOTR in June). I cant say for certain he is the only one, but he is the only guy I could think of that they both wrestled in the same year, during the period between 1985-1995. Personally, I'll take Bret's match with MrP over the Flair match.

    Smackdown spoilers

Why are they continuing with this crap? The continued build for London/Kidman sounds pretty good though, unless it's a Lance Storm chairshot. It's a bit confusing though - he wont hit the SSP, but he will wallop someone with a chair?

I opened the poll in the hope that with a designated thread for it everyone might be able to get it out of their system once and for all. It's a longshot, I know.

I'm not a big fan of it either, but I'm happy to admit I loved the story leading into it, and the psychology during the match.

    Bret Hart or Ric Flair

Having watched both of these matches in the past couple of months, I have to strongly disagree with that. Personally, I just find Bret more creative. Yes, he has his repetetive moments, but so do most wrestlers. I'd never seen someone tie his opponents legs together around a ringpost until Bret did it to Diesel. Same goes with the ringpost figure-four, and the sleeper hold counter into a pin that he used on Piper and Austin. Others may have done these moves, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Bret/Owen was just boring. I'm sorry but it was. Flair/Race brought the HATE with BLOOD and inside a REAL steel cage not that pussy blue bars shit. You can't blame the wrestlers for the fact it was in a blue bars cage. I'm not a fan of the blue bars either, but I still prefer the Bret/Owen match. The Flair/Race match had more to work with, due to the fact that it had the babyface chasing the champion/title. That makes a massive difference in my book.

Yes, you have. But defend him from what? I've seen no one attack him!

The fact that the votes are (currently) Hart 9 - Flair 4 would suggest otherwise. Your entitled to your opinion, of course, as is everybody. As far as I'm concerned they're both great, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Bret.

Chris Candido signs; to work for OVW

Looks like Simon Dean is getting a tag partner. If he has been signed, then good luck to him. I don't see him being any sort of big star, but he could add something to the Cruiserweight scene if given the chance. I don't expect to see Tammy/Sunny back anytime soon though, but never say never.
