    TSM Superhero Draft

I was debating about wether to pick Manhatten for my team this round. Then I realized (just like Mystery Eskimo) that he would be hard to motivate working with my team.

Now that is an interesting pick. I have no problem with it, be wasn't on my radar at all.

With my next pick I choose Zatanna All she has to do is say what she it backwards and it happens. Its as simple as that. She is great at teleportation, and getting people to stop frozen in their tracks. Plus, she is wearing the fishnet stockings.

It wears out after about a week. If anything my future picks will keep a giant saline tank on hand to counter this problem.

and the new Incredible Hulk is....

Even though it was thrown in as a joke I liked the idea that he couldn't make out or even have sex because it would raise his blood pressure and turn him into the Hulk.

With my 4th round pick I choose..... Namor, the Sub-Mariner So far I have got the Martian Manhunter, The Spectre, Darkseid and now Namor. Namor possesses a high level of superhuman strength, enabling him to lift/press up to 100 tons while in contact with water; his strength gradually decreases according to the length of time he is out of water and can eventually dwindle to no more than slightly above human level. In addition to his great strength, Namor possesses superhuman stamina and durability, a result of his body’s adaptation to underwater pressures. He also possesses superhuman agility, reflexes, and speed, with a maximum swimming speed of roughly sixty miles per hour. Namor is able to fly via the finlike wings on his ankles, and he possesses a telepathic rapport with many, but not all, forms of marine life. Like all Atlanteans, he has a prolonged lifespan and his body is specially developed for underwater conditions, granting him specialized blood circulation to withstand freezing temperatures and highly developed vision to see clearly even in murky ocean depths. This hybrid physiology means he can survive indefinitely underwater or on land (though he would still need occasional contact with water to survive). When not exposed to water, Namor’s physical attributes gradually decline and can diminish over time to near-human levels, robbing him of his strength and rendering him vulnerable to conventional injuries; renewed exposure to water will immediately restore his abilities. Complete lack of contact with water will prove fatal in about a week’s time. Namor has demonstrated a vulnerability to oxygen imbalance when remaining too long in either water or air, resulting in manic-depressive mood swings; he can prevent this imbalance by dividing his time between the two atmospheres. He has occasionally used scientific or magical means to regulate his oxygen levels Namor had alot of power that can go along way with the team. The only thing I worry about is his ego. Will he be able to put it aside to work with the team?
  7. So I watched Thank You For Smoking the other day. I was very impressed with Eckhart's performance in the movie. I also was surprised with how many of the actors I recognized. Overall it was a decent 90 minute film.

    What does your surname mean?

Surname: Albrecht This ancient and noble German surname, which includes the Dukes of Albrecht of Albrechtberg, is one of the oldest recorded. It is in origination a pre 7th century compound consisting of the elements 'Aedel' meaning 'noble' and 'beorht' - bright, or possibly shining. Perhaps not surprisingly given such a translation, the name has always been very popular and gave rise to such developments as Albert, Aubert, and in England, Albright. In fact the earliest recordings are British, and date back to one Albertus in the 1086 Domesday Book, which is several centuries earlier than the first recordings in its German homeland. The records on the continent are as a rule later and more scanty than in Britain, this is partly because of the never ending succession of wars throughout the surname period, but also because Germany did not become a unified state until 1864, when centralised bureaucracy began to require centralised records. Nethertheless we have been able to find some good examples of early recordings and these include Heini Albrecht of Degeloch, Stuttgart, in 1350, Christophorus Albrecht, christened at Koenigberg Stadt, Ostpreussen, on April 8th 1613, and Condula Albrecht who married Michael Bishcoff on March 3rd 1634 at Mittelfranken, Bayern. The coat of arms has the unusual blazon of a red field, charged with a bill-hook between two grappling irons, all proper. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Cuonz Albrecht, which was dated 1346, in the charters of Saulgau, Wirtemberg, during the reign of Emperor Louis 1V of Bavaria, 1314 - 1347. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

With my third round selection I choose... Darkseid Darkseid is the tyranical ruler of the planet Apokolips. His main power, the Omega Effect, is a form of energy that he fires from his eyes as either a concussive force or beams of disintegration, capable of erasing most objects and organisms from existence as well as reform them. He has pinpoint control of the beams and only a few have survived the beams energy. Darkseid possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and durability equivalent to the corresponding traits of Superman. He is also a master strategist.

    Favorite Comic Issues

One of my favorite issues ever is from the very first issue of Lex Luthor: Man of Steel. Granted this was a mini-series but this 1st issue was a home run. Issue one written by Brian Azzarello & drawn by Lee Bermejo. This issue managed to show a side of Luthor that was charming, yet still manipulative. The issue explained why Luthor despises Superman and it really makes you think if he is right. If you haven't read this issue, I highly suggest that you do.

    TSM Superhero Draft

With my 2nd round selection I choose......the Spectre (Jim Corrigan) The Spectre is the most powerful human spirit on Earth. The Spectre is intangible, can fly, turn invisible, inhabit and animate inanimate objects, and sense the intentions of people in the place where they plan to carry those intentions out. The Spectre knows many secrets of the universe and its inhabitants, though even he is not omniscient. The Spectre can sometimes get glimpses into the future, although this is not without great difficulty. The only time he was given a long, vivid glimpse into the future was when God granted him one in order to warn the JLA and prevent universal destruction. When the Spectre takes his vengence, the expericence is often more violent then the crime.

That is my favorite as well. I also like Back in the USSR for some bizarre reason.

In regards to a character like Green Lantern and Hal Jordan, can someone decide that they want to select Guy Gardner, another John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and for some reason Killowog?

With the number 5 selection I choose..... The Martian Manhunter The Martian Manhunter is considered one of the characters that started the Silver Age (the other being Barry Allen). J'onn J'onzz is the believed to be the last living martian. JJ'onzz possess superhuman strength, speed, durability, flight and "Martian vision" which is a term designating both the ability to see through solid objects and the ability to generate optic heat beams. He is also a powerful telepath and possesses great detective skills. He also can turn invisible or intangible, which makes him a great spy. He is no longer scared of fire, although it can still kill or injure him. He is limited in his ability to pose as others. He sees the potential for good in humans although human emotion still leaves him confused. He is willing to die for humanity, which makes him a great hero.

    I am so there.
  21. I still get a laugh at seeing Brian Knobbs being a member of the New Blood. Mark Madden had the great line about the F.U.N.B on Hogan's shirt. What does that stand for, First Utica National Bank?
  22. Back in the spring of 1999 I met Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko at a hotel bar they were staying at after a WCW Saturday Night taping. Benoit was my favorite wrestler and I was so glad to have met him. He was joking with Dean and Charles Robinson while I got his autograph. Now I can't believe that I got to meet and shake hands with a double murderer.

    Tim Russert dead

This shocked the heck out of me. I always found him to be an enjoyable and interesting commentator. I always liked that during election coverage he had the old whiteboard on hand. I remember in 2007 at opening day baseball between the Marlins-Nationals they showed Russert on the big screen and the crowd cheered.

Should we start a Comics Draft

Lets just go for the character draft. If we want to do a draft involving creative teams we can do so at another time.
