Here are the quarter hour breakdowns for Impact: 1.19 1.2 1.27 1.22 1.17 1.17 1.07 1.04 I seriously think the first hour success was due to Nash and Booker commentating. It's not like the content they were presenting was anything good but the commentary made it pretty entertaining. It's pretty telling how the ratings dropped the minute TNA took back control of the show and stuck Tenay/West back out on commentary.

I often wonder how Howard Dean would have done against George Bush in 2004, had he won the democratic primary. He atleast would have stood up to Bush and wouldn't have let the personal attacks fly.
-
I'm watching the show for the first time right now and I'm thinking Nash pretty much needs to be doing commentary every week. Him and Steiner were fucking great.
-
Show scored a 1.2 rating. Pretty good (by TNA standards) for the "worst wrestling show ever" as it's being called in some circles.
-
What if, in the case of a tie, you just go back and add up all of the individual points for both people, excluding the five bonus points for correctly guessing full PPV's? Person that has the most individual points wins.
-
Well gee, since Nash, Booker, and the rest of the Mafia are out to destroy TNA (within the storyline), wouldn't it make sense for them to be obnoxious idiots on commentary and not pay attention to anyone outside their group.
-
What will happen if, at the end of the season, there is a tie for first place?

This is one of the aspects of the story that TNA got right. Sting slowly getting fed up with the MEM and Angle's way of doing things making for a good slowburn storyline.
-
Sting's getting tired of Angle always talking for him and seems like he's growing frustrated with some of the actions of the MEM. Cornette is trying to drive a wedge between them by booking the Angle vs. Sting vs. Team 3D fatal fourway at Against All Odds

I would agree the post match was done poory with LAX basically leaving and giving 3D the ring to themselves. But as far as the actual match, which Hernandez basically dominated the majority of only to have 3 other people cost him the match, I believe was done alright.
-
People were saying some of the same things about the Sting/Hernandez match two weeks ago after reading the show's spoilers. That turned out to not be so bad and I thought Hernandez looked good in the match. I also agree that Kurt probably shouldn't be beating two up-and-coming stars but I don't think it's impossible to do it in a way that makes LAX look good.

This is gonna be great just because we'll have Nash and Booker on commentary for most of the show. Maybe they'll see how much better the show is without Tenay and West's annoying commentating and we'll have Nash as a third guy every week.

Damn it...if my calculations are right and I had included Duggen and Goldust in the Rumble like I initially wanted to I would have been tied for first.

1. Melina 2. Swagger 3.Cena 4. Edge 5. Orton BONUS 1. Umaga, Dreamer, Khali, MVP, Shawn Michaels, JTG, Shad, Dolph Ziggler, William Regal 2. Orton 3. Chris Jericho 4. Undertaker 5. Orton 6. Kozlov

I initially put this in the wrong thread but..the only highlight of Impact for me was the Beautiful People beatdown of "Sarah Palin." That was some intense stuff.
-
My god that Beautiful People beatdown of "Sarah Palin" was the greatest thing I've seen in months. That was some crazy shit.
-
West likes to think that he knows everything that the people in the ring are thinking. He sits there and runs down the wrestlers motives, ideas, and goals as if he knows exactly what they're thinking.
-
I'm wondering how Sting feels about some of the content TNA puts out as far as language and things like that. TNA seems raunchier than the WWE these days.

Hollywood Hogan vs. Bret Hart I - Hart goes over a heel Hogan sending Hollywood into a long hiatus. Hogan vs. Hart II - Hart eventually turns heel, starts bragging about how he ran Hogan out of the company, etc, etc. Hogan eventually comes back in the red and yellow and gets his victory back.

No-- he was fired from his referee position and then rehired as a wrestler and then all of a sudden he's a referee again last night.
-
I like how they're actually letting the opening segment play out rather than moving on to the next thing right away. The usual gaps in logic are still there though--After being fired last week from his referee position, Sewell is a referee again with no explanation at all.
-
THe other thing that kinda killed it for me is that the crowd was pretty dead for the sort of match that took place.
-
What about a full year before that when Goldust start making gay advances at Razor Ramon and then ended up fighting Roddy Piper in the "Hollywood Backlot Brawl" and Mania 12. Some of the shit in that match came right out of the attitude era-- Goldust Running around in leather chaps, Piper chasing him in a white Bronco and promising to "make a man out of him." Wrestlemania 12 was when I started to really feel like the product was evolving into something different.

Agreed on the bloody shot of Jarrett crawling back into the ring. I could just imagine JR selling the hell out of that.

I like this idea. Abyss could easily slide into the Front Line group where he should have been all along. They could have Morgan turn on Abyss, join the MEM, and then have Mick Foley bring in the "old" Abyss into the Front Line.
