I was in 6th grade in 1998 and DX was basically da shit. I remember getting sent to the principles office with three other guys after we gave our math teacher, Mrs. Scherman (nicknamed the Scherminator), a four-person crotch chop.
-
I'm pretty sure Eric Young will win the tournament. They didn't just tease giving him the belt twice for nothing. Plus I read that he and Jarrett were BUTT buddies.
-
No one is saying that they should put the belt on Hernandez but this is a good first step in a singles push for this guy who gets just awesome reactions from the crowd. I think he could be a huge star and a huge draw in the Latino market. The key is building him up slowly. He should have a strong showing against Sting, have him dominate big parts of a match but have the crafty veteran pull out the win at the end. Then they should build him up over the next couple months, scoring wins over guys like Steiner and maybe Nash. By July he could be ready to be a top player. I think that both Hernanez and Homocide should change their look up a bit. They look kind of low rent, wrestling in t-shirts and shorts. Perception is reality and they should get some real wrestling gear.

I heard the same about Texas...only with a wamer climate!

Here are the full spoilers from the show... The Main Event Mafia come to the ring and Angle starts cutting a promo saying he told everyone how it would go down. AJ comes out to interrupt and Angle tells him to come to the ring and say it to Sting's face. AJ says for the rest of the Mafia to step out of the ring and they do. AJ and Sting argue and fight but the Mafia come back into the ring and attack AJ. The Frontline come out to make the save and Angle tells them that tonight he promises to eliminate one of the members of the Frontline. - X Title Tournament- Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir, so we are guaranteed a new X-Division champ. - X Title Tournament- Alex Shelley defeated Jay Lethal with some help from Sabin. Afterwards they cut a promo in the ring telling Foley to come out since he managed to do what the Knockouts can't, screw them. Suicide came out again and cleared them out the ring. - Cowboy James Storm defeated Abyss in a Beer Bottle on a Pole Match. Roode and Morgan both came out during the match. Afterwards Storm broke a bottle in the back of Morgan's head. - Brother Ray came out for a promo and asked Kurt Angle to come out. He cuts a promo about the Main Event Mafia and Frontline feud and challenges Angle tonight, one on one, with no interference on either side and if he wins, the Mafia disappears, but if he loses, the Frontline disbands. Angle shakes his hand and its on for later. - Backstage Ray is telling the Frontline he needs them all to leave so he can take care of Angle tonight and he believes Angle will do the same. Joe doesn't trust the Mafia to leave and gets mad but reluctantly agrees. Devon is the last to leave after Ray told him he had to do this himself. - Kurt Angle tells the Mafia to leave as well and that he would take care of Ray quickly and meet up with them. - They set up the briefcases like Deal or No Deal in the ring and Hernandez was the first to open his and won the World Title Shot. JB asks Curry Man and Homicide if they want they can swap briefcases, but they don't. Curry Man is picked to open his and when he does, he is fired but he really didn't understand what it meant and said he was going to sign a contract now with TNA as security takes him to the back. Homicide and Hernandez celebrate. - Christy Hemme defeated Soujouner Bolt. After the match Hemme, offered Bolt a handshake but Bolt slapped her and they brawled until they were separated. - Kurt Angle and Brother Ray went to a double count out. The match was pretty good. Ray bladed and took a bump through the wall (a la Kong and Abyss). They brawled outside the ring and didn't get back in time so they were counted out. They fought backstage as cameras followed them and there was no audio but Ray had Angle cornered and the Mafia came from behind and put a beat down on Ray. They hit him with chairs, trashcans, etc. It ends with The Mafia throwing Ray in a dumpster as EMT's come to tend Ray. Sting watched the beat down but walked away before they put Ray in the dumpster.

Yeah I'm thinking it's time to move out of Illinois.

Just read on tnawrestling.com that they're starting a eight-man tournament to crown a new X-Division champion. First round matches are Eric Young vs. Abdul Bashir, Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley, Consequences Creed vs. Akira Raijin and Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt.
-
This really needs to be said and the guy deserves credit where credit is due...Nash is bumping his ass off tonight.
-
Ha I remember an Abyss/Black Reign backstage brawl segment on Impact where West did play by play for Dustin trying to lock Abyss' head in a vice grip.
-
I've said it a million times but I have to say it again....I really do hate Tenay and West. They're trying to debut a new character, he comes out with a unique entrance and a big pop but you can barely hear it all with Tenay and West babbling at a mile a minute.
-
This Glamour Boy Shane guy has ridiculous facial expressions LoL. What kind of style does he wrestle...mostly X-Division high flying stuff?
-
Yeah Hernandez is just super over. That border toss was sick. Ugh Why the fuck is Borash allowed to mouth off like that to the MCMG's? TNA always pulls this shit whether it be Tenay trying to act like a tough guy and talking shit to Abdul Bashir or now Borash. They should have put a huge beating on him.

The addition of Team 3D to the "Front Line" just doesn't seem right. I guess their promo work could help but I would have much rather sen Abyss/Morgan or even Tomko added to the group.
-
As someone who doesn't follow boxing that closely...what are the chances of Mayweather coming out of retirement to fight Pacquaio?
-
Christian Cage is all but confirmed to come back to WWE and probably wrestle on Smackdown. Meltzer is reporting that WWE's having internal discussions on bringing Kurt Angle back (his contract expires in September) and having him work a limited schedule ala HBK. 2008 will probably be Sting's last year with the company. So we're basically looking at TNA's main eventers consisting of Joe, Styles, Rhino, Booker T, and I guess Nash. SO what will TNA's main event scene look like by this time next year?
-
Yeah he kind of looks like an oversized pillsbury doughboy with a mask.

I like LAX but I liked them so much more with Konnan as their mouthpiece. IF Jarrett and Konnan could put their differences aside, a Konnan return would be the boost that LAX needs. And if they do split eventually, a main event Hernandez with Konnan as his mouthpiece would be money. As far as Abyss, I pretty much gave up on him as well until I saw the promo he cut at Turning Point before his match with Kurt Angle. I didn't really hear many of his promos before but I thought it was tremendous. While obviously not on his level, that promo reminded me a lot of the Mankind promos around 1996. If Abyss lost some weight, went back to his black outfit, and was allowed to cut deranged promos like the one he did at Turning Point I think he could possibly draw.
-
Agreed on Storm and especially Hernandez. The thing I noticed about him is that not only does he get a great reaction in Orlando but every time they go on the road, he gets huge reactions that rivals some of the main eventers. I remember watching Slammiversary 07 and the crowd was going as Hernandez tossed Low Ki all over the ring.
-
I think I could post this bit of news here without going too far off topic... I dunno...Terry Funk looked like he could break apart at any minute the last time I saw him in a match at ONS 2006. This is kind of interesting. As far as Morgan, He could definitly be a main eventer but they need to build him up some more. Maybe go on a winning streak or whatever but with his presence he should come off as more of a monster. Dykstra and Burke would definitly be good additions to the roster but I don't see how they could take the spot of a Sting or Kurt Angle.
-
I actually laughed more at Dolph Ziggler.
-
Really? Isn't Jeff Jarrett, the owner of the company, and someone who was coming up with crap (Dupp Cup, Rainbow Express, etc) in TNA way before Russo came in, the guilty party for bad creative ideas?
-
Yeah because you know the type of sense of humor that everyone involved in TNA creative has right? You know that there is no way Jeremy Borash could find something like that funny right? You don't know any of that but just because some people on this board have a huge hard-on for Russo, he'll always be blamed for any bad idea they come up with. It's getting to the point of hilarious.
-
Oh jeez....where exactly does it say that Vince Russo was pushing for the X-Stasy name? It doesn't say that anywhere. So quit trying to blame the guy for any stupid idea that TNA might be considering doing. It's getting pretty old.
-
I thought about that too but I can't really see 3D fitting in with the suit-wearing Main Event Mafia either. Not that TNA ever cares about detail.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday
CubbyBr replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
I'm sure many people remember that Team 3D line .
