ASU got their asses beaten by Nate Longshore. Dennis Dixon should be able to pass all over them. He's coming into this game with kind of a lot of confidence in himself (72 seconds, 2 tds). ASU did rush for over 200 yards against a pretty good defense though. I guess it just depends on how ASU bounces back from the beating they took.

More weight should be given to win loss record when formulating the rankings. Even though I barely won the last 2 weeks I'm still 4-0 with a win over #7 Stanford.

Cal ASU could be a shootout this weekend. Cal probably isn't as bad as they played against Tennessee (though their qb's may be). ASU hasn't really been tested yet this year. I'm picking Cal even though I would prefer for ASU to win.

Being an Oregon fan I believe they will win. Stopping Adrian Peterson really may not be as big of a deal as long as they play mostly mistake free football. Oregon escaped Cal last year after a 195 yard performance by Marshawn Lynch and beat Fresno State this weekend after giving up somewhere around 200 yards on the ground. As long as the offense is rolling and they give Paul Thompson a bad day it should work out because I dont see Peterson being slowed down too much by an Oregon defense missing some of its biggest playmakers from last year. There are still a lot of questions on defense and starting corner Jackie Bates is out for the year but there is a lot of good athletes and J.D. Nelson is one of the hardest hitting and most underrated defensive players in the country. This is a big game for OU because of what it means to their season but it is definitely the biggest game ever played in Autzen Stadium. A win on national TV against one of the countries premiere programs would probably shoot the Ducks up to the top 10 or very near. This game is a chance for some very good players to get some recognition nationally. RB Jonathan Stewart is going to be on of the top Heisman candidates next year if he can stay healthy. Dennis Dixon runs a 4.4 and throws an extremely accurate ball and has the deepest, most athletic receiving corps in school history. If anyone watched the Fresno game they would've gotten to see backup running back Jeremiah Johnson put on a stiff arm clinic. I wouldn't be surprised to see Oklahoma win this game but I don't think it will happen. I'm more worried about them being overly confident and overlooking Arizona State in their next game. I'm going to be at the game on Saturday and it should be very competitive. And Dama you could say OU escaped last year because Oregon was driving pretty well before Brady Leaf threw that bad pass.

I know they're only playing Kentucky, but through 90 seconds Louisville looks pretty damn good. Bush just took off for like a 40 yard score on the 3rd play.

Damn ESPN showed almost no Oregon highlights. They completely destroyed Stanford. If you don't know who Jonathan Stewart is you will in the coming weeks. He was pretty much unstoppable all game. 22 attempts 168 yards 2 tds. With Cal looking like complete shit they can probably win 10 games or more. The defense looked pretty damn good and they are one of the deepest teams at receiver it looks like. Since were talking about non conference opponents here is what Oregon just lined up: Oklahoma @ Oregon '06 @ Michigan '07 @Purdue '08 Purdue @ Oregon '09 @ Tennessee '10 Tennesee @ Oregon '13 Colorado @ Oregon '14 Georgia @ Oregon '15 Oregon @ Georgia '16 Oregon @ Colorado '17 Oh yeah and hooray for Portland State.

    Mike Montgomery = GONE~

Well now Montgomery can have his pick of any major college jobs that open in the next year. Oregon should fire Ernie Kent and go after Monty.

I was looking around on some college football blogs and noticed that former Michigan QB Matt Gutierrez transfered to Idaho State. Thought that might be news to someone because I certainly didn't know.

Why no NFL in Alabama or Oklahoma?

If you look at the statistics pretty much any market can support an NFL team. Since they only play 8 regular season home games it keeps them in high demand. Also, all NFL teams are profitable due to revenue sharing and the NFL's amazing tv contracts. Oklahoma City has a metro population of 1.3 million compared to Green Bay at just over 100,000. The NFL makes so much damn money they don't need to play in major markets like LA. Portland will probably never get a football team but a baseball team makes perfect sense. Give us the Marlins and I guarantee better attendance then what they have now. With the Blazers in dissaray now would be an excellent time to for a team to come in and fill this lonely offseaon void.

    NBA Offseason Thread

Randolph has: got busted in high school for shoplifting, possessing and selling stolen guns, underage drinking (not really a big deal), sucker punched a teammate in practice, received a DUI, was present when his brother shot someone, was recently involved in a street racing incident while high with guns in the car, smokes weed, and is involved in this sexual assault incident. While it may not be a fact that he can't be salvaged, the evidence just keeps building. I've also been hearing that he's into coke and got a stripper pregnant.

Randolph will be a malcontent anywhere he goes. That is a FACT. The Blazer might consider that trade if Webbers contract was really short and they would certainly try to package D Miles. Rasheed is still an asshole (also one of my favorite players) and he still smokes weed and talks shit. The only difference now is that he lives in Detroit, the former murder capital USA, where there is actual news to report and 3 other major sports teams. He isn't under the media scrutiny he was in Portland. Also there are more large black people in Detroit so he doesn't stick out as much and he did help bring a title to the city so that gives him a little bit of a pass as well.

Spring college football practices are starting...

Oregon State gets my vote for worst Pac 10 program historically. They went like 30 years without a bowl then Dennis Erickson came along and won 7 or 8 games before taking them to an 11-1 season and Fiesta Bowl win in 2000. They won 8 games I believe in 2002 or whenever Stephen Jackson was a junior. Thats pretty much their history. Wazzu has been to a few Rose Bowls recently so I wouldn't call them the worst. I don't know much about Arizona but weren't they good in the mid 90's?

Sam Keller is a really good quarterback but after seeing Carpenter in the bowl game I think ASU made the right choice. He seemed so determined to win that game that I'm not surprised the team rallied around him.

If Cal can get consistent quarterback play they should win 9-10 games. They do return one of the top 3 rbs in the country.
