    Wait. What? Haute Tension was loaded with gory violence. While it did have plenty of gory violence (and a shitty finale), Haute Tension mainly worked because it knew how to ratchet up suspense and tension. Or at least that's what I think.

    Was the guy a cabaret singer? If so, then the movie you saw was "Calvaire." Yep that's it, thanks. No problem. That movie is a quite the mind fuck. A weird dance sequence that comes out of nowhere, anal rape, bestiality, crucifixion, very black humor, forced gender-bending, torture, and more.
