Back home, my parents have a Cogi, so I'd have to agree. Best dog we've ever had.

That reminds me, is the new Sun0)))/Boris split any good? It got a lot of mixed reactions, and I really love Boris.

-Well, Hillary announced she had presidential aspirations. I really don't think it's a good idea. Most people, Republican and Democrat, don't want her to run, though she does have a better chance of winning than Kucinich, but a wounded puppy has a better chance than him. Me, I'm getting behind Obama or Richardson. -In better news, the remake of "The Hitcher" didn't exactly tear up the box office. It almost seems like people are finally starting to get tired of shitty remakes of horror classics, though that won't stop anytime soon. I hear "Friday the 13th" and (sigh) "The Birds" are the next planned remakes. If you ask me, if you are going to remake a horror movie, remake one that nobody knows about, or was bad to begin with. For example, I like George Romero's "The Crazies", but I wouldn't mind a remake of it. Also, look at Tobe Hoopers take on the "Toolbox Murders", which was a remake of a shitty horror movie, and much better than the original. Hell, why not remake a movie like "Prom Night" or Zombie Creeping Flesh." Both are shitty horror movies that few people know about or remember, and those that do don't exactly have fond memories of them, so remaking them woudn't cause a fit.

Never cared for Happy Mondays, though Jesus and Mary Chain reuniting is awesome. Also, how the hell did VNV Nation get there? I'm not wild about them, but still...

A year ago, I would have supported McCain some, and he also would have stood a chance. Now, not so much. He's pretty much dead in the water at this point.

Well, at least the remake of "The Hitcher" didn't take the top spot.

I bought and watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning recently, and here's my thoughts. It does get a few things right. It works better than the remake, because it manages to get the family asthetic that said remake was missing. Also, it manages to bring in some dark humor, which was in the original, and missing in the remake, therefore managing to actually successfully get that aspect right. Also, the acting is strong, especially R. Lee Ermy as Sheriif Hoyt, who steals the show (unsuprisingly) and Marietta Marich as Luda May. Now for the bad Its not scary. Sure, its gorier than the remake, and theres the requisite torture, but there's no scares. The director seems to think that adding on torture after torture, and gory setpieces will make it scary, but it doesn't. If anything, it begins to feel repetative. Hoyt, while a great character, should not be the main villain. The villain who deserves the most focus it Leatherface, and he just feels like a supporting character. Also, the explanations of Leatherface's origin are...poor, to say the least. It feels less like the beginning, and more like the same story we've seen before. Oh, and making Hoyt a sexual pervert really doesn't work either, and the one aspect of the character that should have been left out. Finally, the subplot involving Vietnam and the draft dodging brother is the weakest element. It feels like the director and writers were trying to make some sort of statement, but the subplot just slows the movie down-until Hoyt comes into play, and makes it interesting-and is underwritten and dull. All in all, its not good, but its not a total disaster. I'd give it 5.5/10 or 6/10.

If it makes you feel better, I recently bought "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Beginning" Not music related, but still... I bought WrestleMania:The Album for $4 from Best Buy last year after Christmas. It's worth it to hear Bret Hart croke out a heartfelt ballad and Macho Man's rant on "Speaking From The Heart" I saw that at a used CD Store last year. I almost bought it, but changed my mind and bought Depeche Modes Songs of Faith and Devotion instead. I really hope that the new LCD Soundsystem is good. Their debut bored me, and the one they did for Itunes was good, but overrated.

Oh great. If she runs for President, then I'm voting Libertarian. I know that it will piss some of you off, but I refuse to vote Republican, and if she runs for President, I'll refuse to vote Democrat.

Bigelow was always one of my favorite big guys. His Moonsault is probably the best one from a big guy. RIP Man.

Prescense has it's moments, though it's really a middling album. ITTOD is good, though far from perfect. "Kashmere" is a great song. Sure, it's the same riff, but the mellotron, drums, and vocals all make it. Also, "Trampled Underfoot" is damn underrated.
