Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with "The Eye". Sure, it's got some good moments, but it also has a dreadfully tacked on romatic sublot and sentimentality, as well as a weak ending.

-Well, it seems logical, but after the remake of "Dawn of The Dead", it's follow up/sequal will be a remake of "Day of the Dead". It seems like James Gunn Will have nothing to do with this one, and it will be directed by Steve ("Friday the 13th part 2", "Lake Placcid") will direct. The movie will star Ving Rhames (who won't be reprising his role in the "Dawn" remake) as Captain Rhodes, Mena Suvari as Sarah, and (ugh) Nick Cannon. -A while back, I mentioned that a movie version of Jack Ketchum's acclaimed (and excellent) novel "The Girl Next Door" was underway. Well, it seems like casting has begun. Anyways, Mae ("Arrested Developement","Thief","Avatar: The Last Airbender") Whitman will play the tortured and abused title character, while Blanche ("Sixteen Candles") will play the abusive Aunt Ruth, and Daniel Manche will play the boy who befriends the girl, and witnesses her torture. -After "Hostel 2", Eli Roth will be directing an adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Cell". The book deals with a zombie like outbreak caused by cell phones. On a lesser note, I don't have a cell phone. -The website for the upcoming animated Hellboy movie is up. Ron Perlman and Selma Blair will reprise their roles. It should debut on Cartoon Network sometime this year. -In Masters of Horror news, Jeffrey Combs has been comfirmed to play Poe in Stuart Gordon's episode, which is an adaptation of "The Black Cat". Also, Gordon's new movie "Edmand", which is an adaptation of David Mamet's play, is in limited release right now, and stars William H. Macy, Julia Stiles, Denise Richards, Bai Ling, and Mena Suvari. His next directorial efforts will include "House of Re-Animator" and an upcoming movie for the new version of Amicus studios. -Ti West's directorial debut "The Roost" (which I have mentioned before) will come to DVD on October 3rd. Also, "Slither" comes to DVD on October 24th. -The 3-D remake of "Night of The Living Dead" wwill open in 1,500 theatres on November 10th. Unfortunately, Romero has nothing to do with it. -Finally, it seems like Jessica Alba will star in an remake of the Chinese horror movie "The Eye". Lions Gate will be releasing it, and it will be directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, who have recently gotten festival attention and praise for their movie "ILS"
-
Update on Feast: It will get an unrated DVD treatment on October 17th after it's brief midnight run. Because the Weinsteins are clueless when it comes to marketing horror movies.

That's what I felt like doing after reading this.

Some kid on Myspace kills his mom.
Gary Floyd replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in General Chat
Once again, I'm glad I don't have a myspace account. Also, I actually agree with Leena. -
I was always a sucker for Jerry Lynn's J.L. character.

Redman's video for I'll Bee Dat is one of my favorite Hip-Hop videos ever. How could anybody hate this? I never liked Queensryche. I know a dude who loves them, and thinks that "Operation Mindcrime" is one of the best albums ever. Also, my brother calls them "the kings of the mullet"

This might be my favorite picture of Leena that she's used in her avatar.

Senate votes to expand stem cell research
Gary Floyd replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
After reading JustPassinBy's post, I think i may have been too harsh on C-Bacon. -
They aren't coming to Ohio, so I won't. If they were, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

-Well, things are alright in my world. I'm thinking of finally breaking down and buying an iPod or MP3 player of some sorts, because I'm tired of buying CR-R's -My brother called me a conservative today because I don't see the draft coming back in the future. Oh, and Newt Gingrich, who as you remember, tried to get Clinton out of office for adultry when he himself was having an affair, says that World War III is inevetible. -Also, I fucking pisses me off that Bush will veto a bill that allows stem cell research, because of his fucking convictions. Dude, you are the president: forget your religious convictions for a second and just let the bill pass. -I'm still reading "The Bighead", and it is still sick. So far, there's been more cannibalism, more rape, vomit consumption, necrophillia, breast amputation, a piss enema, a doulbe urinary catherization, a baby having it's brains sucked out, and more. Also, I must have a stomach of cast Iron, because I haven't puked yet. -I know it's against the law amongst hipsters, but the new Killers single is really catchy. Well, that's all for now. Next time: a list of overrated horror movies

Senate votes to expand stem cell research
Gary Floyd replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
This is one of the things i hate the most about Bush: He can't get his head out of his ass when it comes to his personal convictions and religious beliefs. Because of that, we a seeing a slowing down of any serious progress. -
