Another great zombie film: "Dead and Burried". A non-flesh eating zombie film from the director of "Raw Meat" and the writers of "Alien". (Fact: in my profile, where it says I live in "Potter's Bluff"; that's a reference to the film) Oh, and theres a French Zombie film called "They Came Back", in which the dead come back to...live their old lives again. Then theres "Wild Zero". If you hate this movie, then I don't know what to say for you. Personally, my favorite thing about "Re-Animator" is Jeffrey Combs as Herbert West. He is the best Mad Scientist in the history of horror, IMO. -

My top 5 zombie movies would have to be 1.) Dawn of the Dead (original) 2.) Night of the Living Dead (original) 3.) Re-Animator 4.) Dead Alive 5.) Day of the Dead Honerable mentions: "Dead and Buried", "Return of the Living Dead I and III", "Cemetary Man" (coming later this year to DVD from Anchor Bay), "Versus", "Junk" (How can you not love a movie where a zombie eats it's own flesh?), and "Wild Zero" (Simply put, one of the best things ever) Also, I'm sorry vivisectvi, but I just can't join in on the love of Fulci's "Zombi 2". Sure, it's a fun zombie film, and it has some great moments, but personally, it all feels a bit empty to me whenever I watch it. -
"WrestleCrap" by R.D. Reynolds.

I also think the Dawn remake is pretty good. Exceeded my expectations, and even had a badass chainsaw death. -
Just a guess, but an ECW book from the WWE will probalby end up being with some revisionist history.

But thats one of the things that makes Romero's movies so great. Then again, it wasn't trying to be like the original. Still, I like the original over the remake. That out of the way, Undead isn't getting very good reviews. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/undead/ -

That's exactly what I think of the "Dawn" remake. I think the main flaw in it is that while it's a good zombie movie, it's just that-a good zombie movie, and not the classic I've heard alot of people say it is. Plus, it didn't have any of the social commentary of Romero's films (yes, not just his zombie films. I also mean movies like "Maritn", "The Crazies", and "Season of the Witch"). which in my eyes, are among the some of the best the horror genre has to offer. They prove that horror doesn't have to be mindless; it can also be intelligent, and have something to say about society. -
My list of albums so far this year: -Roots Manuva-Awfully Deep. British rapper with rastafarian flow and weird hip hop/video game techno production=awesome. -Antony and the Johnsons-I am a Bird Now. I've known about them before this album (He's toured with Coil and Current 93), so to see a widely available album from him is pretty sweet. -DJ Spooky and Dave Lombardo-Drums of Death. Major disapointment. At least "B-Side Wins again" is alright. -LCD Soundsystem-Good, albeit a bit overhyped. -Bloc Party-Silent Alarm.Ditto. -Hrvatski-Irrevocably Overdriven Break Freakout Megamix.91 tracks in 40 minutes. It's a pretty swell mix of drum n bass/drill n bass/IDM/noise/weirdness. -Gorilaz-Demon Days.I'd have to say that I agree that it's much better than their debut. More focused and catchy, with no filler, and Dennis fuckin' Hopper appearing. -Merzbow-MerzBuddah and Sphere. Probably some of his best work in a while. Dig the pulsating, almost dubby bass in "Merzbuddah." -AFX(Aphex Twin)-The Analord Series.A series of vinyl eps that harken back to his Analogue Bubblebath/Selected Ambient Works 85-92 era sound. -M.I.A.-Arular. Along with Roots Manuva's "Awfully Deep", this is the political statement/party record of the year. -Meat Beat Manifesto-At the Center.Heard a few songs from it, and it sounds pretty cool. Basically, it's Meat Beat Manifesto collaberating with a Free Jazz band. -Coil-And the Ambulence Dies in his Arms.Cool live album. Will probably be their last album, since John Balance died last November. It's good, but not as great as last years "Black Antlers" album. -Common-Be. It's Common produced by Kanye West, so unsuprisingly, it's a winner. Still waiting for-Current 93, "Black Ships Ate the Sky"

The things I loved most about the movie: -The zombies attack on Fiddlers Green. It's the ultimate "Underclass rises above the upper class" scenario =The Fat Samoan guy -Dennis Hopper as Kaufman. -John Leguizamo as Cholo. Actually, all of the acting was great -The "Jack in the Box" zombie -Simon Pegg and Tom Savini's cameos. Hell just about everything in it rocked my world. My only complaint is that it was too short. -

Well, if you folks were disappointed by this film, then don't worry; the Aussie Horror film "Undead" opens on Friday in select cities, with a wider release later in the weeks ahead. -

Rant, it's time to stop posting shit like this. It's not gross or offensive to me, it's just stupid, and it's time to stop.

You got to be shitting me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I ain't shittin' ya. "Star Wars" just didn't do it for me, "High Tension" was great, but the ending was a letdown, and I have no interest in "Fantastic Four" or "War of the Worlds" (Though "Dark Water", albeit a remake, looks good). So basically, "Batman Begins" and "Land of the Dead" are the best movies I've seen this summer so far. -

I actually don't mind the bits of conversation. I think that they helps set the tone and atmosphere of the film. "Day Of the Dad" isn't a "Rambo" style war hero flick; it's a study on the dark nature of the human spirit, and on the increasing Militarism of the U.S. If anything, it's the anti "Rambo"
