When did WCW hit The Point Of No Return ?
Gary Floyd replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
I actually would say it started the second Nash became champion, because after that happened, I knew that the company's future wasn't looking too bright. -
Well, the Sundance Film Festival is over. Last year, we got "Napolean Dynamite","Open Water", and "Haute Tension" What are this years films? Here's a list of films that are sure to get some attention (BTW, I wasn't at the festival. This is just what I'vw heard from the net so far) -"The Matador" Staring Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, and Hope Davis. Many are giving Brosnan some high marks for his performance in the film. It will probably get alot of high critical marks. -"Happy Endings" with Lisa Kudrow, Tom Arnold, and Steve Coogen. Called "A comedy of sorts", it's probably one of the most artsy films Arnold has done. Speaking of films, why was Tom Arnold In "True Lies"? -"Kung Fu Hustle" starring "Shaolin Soccar's" Stephen Chow. Don't know much about it, but it looks pretty cool -"The Jacket" Starring Adrien Brody. Will be released by Warner Independent this spring -"Reefer Madness" with Steven Weber Kristin Bell. A tribute, and parody of sorts, to the original. At least I think. -"Mysterious Skin" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock from the Sun, Treasure Planet) as a gay hustler. Directed by Greg Araki (The Doom Generation), and so far being said to be his best film yet. -"The Devil and Daniel Johnson" A documentary about the legendary "outsider" musician -"New Yourk Doll" another documentary, this time about New York Dolls bassist Arthur Kane -"MirrorMask" Again, don't know much about it, but that it's being compared to “Labyrinth", and will definately become a cult favorite. Written by Neil Gaiman -"Pretty Persuasion" staring Ron Livingston and Evan Rachel Wood. A dark comedy of sorts, about seduction. Or at least that's what I hear. -"Wolf Creek", an Australian horror film garnering comparisons to the horror films of the 70's and early 80's. Has been picked up by Dimension, which is bad IMO, because lets just say Dimension has a way of treating horror films that aren't their own. -"Dirty Love" starring Jenny McCarth. Is actually getting some positive buzz. -"Cronicas" a spanish language Horror/Thriller starring John Leguizamo, produced by Gullimero Del Toro (Hellboy,Cronos, The Devils Backbone) -"Strangers With Candy" starring Amy Sedaris, Gregory Hollimon, and Steve Colbaret. Yes, it's based on the TV show. -"Three Extremes" an horror anthology with films by Takashi Miike, Fruit Chan, and Chan-wook Park. Park's film has garnered comparisons to "Saw" -"Oldboy" a revenge film that won big at the Cannes Film Festival. Hits theatres this spring. -"Hard Candy" a controversial film about a pedarast, who gets in way over his head. Has been picked up by Lions Gate -"Forty Shades of Blue", staring Joanne Pankow and Rip Torn which won the Audience Award That's all for now. I'll provide updates later

It was hit and miss. If anything, the premise is brillient, and there were some funny moments, but it's just missing...something.

Gotta add "Super Milk Chan" Granted, I just saw the last episode, and I gotta say, though it tends to get mixed reactions...I'll miss the weird, drugged out show. -
The "Harold & Kumar" sequal will have to be called "Harold & Kumar Have to take a Massive Dump"

Strange, yet creepy story: Last night, while watching the episode "Birthmark" from the show "Teen Titans" Theres a scene where Slade and Raven are on top of a building, and Slade is holding on to Raven's arms from behind; needless to say, I suddenly started having flashbacks from that scene in "Irreversible". What made the whole thing from the episode worse was the fact that bits of Raven's outfit had become shredded off. Now, I love that show, and it is a TV-Y7 rated cartoon, but it don't take a rocket scientist to see what they're implying. Maybe i watch too much "Teen Titans". But still, it just felt a bit...creepy

This...Really, really sucks, IMO. I'm a fan of the Sparks, and this really hits me hard.

Also, indie horror director Dante Tomaselli (Desecration,Horror, and the upcoming Satan's Playground) has mentioned interest in directing the remake

Apparently I wasn't quite as disturbed because I am drawing a blank on what you are talking about. Rat? I remember the rat scene from the book but don't remember one from the movie. Of course, I was terrifically high when I saw that flick so I might have just been distracted by something shiny. I do agree that the rat scene was the most disgusting thing I have ever read, but I highly doubt it got even close to being on screen. There are (believe it or not) Books that make that scene in the book "American Psycho" look small by comparison Marquis de Sade's "120 Days of Sodom" Edward Lee & Wrath James White's "Teratologist" Sam R. Delany's "Hogg" Edward Lee's "The Bighead"

The "Bone Room" Scene in the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Just about all of "Salo: The 120 Days of Sodom" Eyeball being slit open by a straight razor in "Un Chien Andalou"

Good Point Personally, I think Eddy should be a heel again, just because he rocks as a heel Yeah thats why his last heel turn lasted all of what? A month? Two months tops. Come on, remember how awesome he was as a heel in WCW? Granted, this isn't WCW, and that was a while back, but still...

"Haute Tension" is a French horror film that's being called "High Tension" here in the US. Lions Gate (who seem to have a thing for controversial films and Horror films-God Bless 'em) will be releasing it this June completley uncut, in NC-17 format, in French with English subtitles. Oh,btw, the official website for "Wolf Creek", complete with poster and trailer, is up now: http://www.wolfcreekmovie.com/ In other news and such: Stuart (Re-Animator,Dagon,King of the Ants) Gordon's next film will be the David Mamet scripted "Edmond", starring William "Most underrated actor working today" H. Macy, Dylan Walsh and Julia Styles James Gunn, writer of the "Dawn of the Dead" remake, will be making his directorial debut with "Slither", an alien invasion horror film sarring Michael (The Dark Half, Henry:Portrait of a Serial Killer) Rooker, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" Nathan Fillion, and Elizabeth Banks. Gunn is promising a major gorefest with slimey alien worms, gangrenous infections, cannibalism, and other delights in what he says will be the "Hardest R ever" Oh, and in "Happy Endings", which is directed by the guy who did "The Opposite of Sex", Maggie Gyllanhal (sic?) and Tom Arnold have sex.

True Story: I want to see a bio flick about either Lucio Fulci or Stanley Kubrick. Also, maybe a film about Joy Division, or even the Ramones Remake: Normally, I abhoir remakes, but I'd love to see an American Godzilla movie, only done right, with Godzilla portrayed as the indestructible, evil force of nature that the Japanese films have portrayed him, as well as with more citywide destruction, a monster for him to battle, radioactive breath-you know, the works. Also, though it would most likely never happen, I would like there to be a film version of the hardcore horror novella "Goon" Sequal: I'd love to see a sequal to "Dead Alive", with Peter Jackson as director
