Jannetty looked pretty damn good for a guy who's been out of the picture for a while....

Did I miss Jannetty? PLEASE tell me I didn't miss Jannetty...

That RKO bought Jake Roberts a lot of crack

The Sonics and Suns won't get it done in the playoffs. I think Dallas, with a healthy Dampier, is the only team that has a serious chance to go to the finals besides San Antonio.

Not to mention a record tying 12 threes for Marshall in the process!

Complete bullshit

Well, he did say he saw them during a Jager and shroom haze, so it's quite possible he just imagined the whole thing. That said, I got $5 on the Twins.

It's already been touched on, but that same tired line about not dictating to the fans, which Vince always spits, is laugh out loud hilarious. Does he even watch his own shows? And saying the fans "saw through Lesnar" because he didn't have passion is absurd. Lesnar showed more passion on camera than most anyone in the company, and he also showed a genuine ability to learn and adapt. If he thinks we "saw through" Lesnar, how does he think we feel about all the green as shit OVW guys he brings up? As for the WWE's future, nothing will change until they step back and make the necessary changes in their practices, and with the people at the helm I have no hope for that happening any time soon. As long as HHH can wrestle and creative is headed by Stephanie and a bunch of Hollywood rejects they'll keep making the same fucking mistakes. Shane McMahon may be our last hope for a cutting edge, unencumbered product, but who knows if he'll ever have a hand in presenting the actual product.

I want to hear Batista proclaim "Evolution has gone the way of the dodo" in a promo tommorow night

Sounds like a bitter Lakers fan, no reason to have ill will towards Shaq.... I'm thinking 2nd round loss for the Celtics too, but it's tough to call the East right now, so much playoff positioning is still up for grabs. I like them the most outside of Miami and Detroit. I think they match up better against Detroit, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them beat Miami in a 7 game series, if Rivers can outcoach Van Gundy.

Sorry. I wasn't talking to you

It was sarcasm....

Top 50 WWWF/WWF/WWE headliners
Precious Roy replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
Why is Randy Orton on there? -
KOTR 2000 was really disapointing from a smark POV. When Benoit and Guerrero both went out first round, robbing us of a semi-final match between the two and a potential classic final with Angle, that just killed the PPV for me right there. It didn't help that the main event was a fucking six man tag where Rock pinned McMahon to win the world title.

When did saturday night get decided on? I thought Sunday was the consensus. Saturday night, frankly, sucks.

Jesus Christ you're retarded. I wasn't saying one is better than the other, stop trying to make it into a comparison. I said it was beneficial to the network to capitalize on BOTH, no dispute on the follow up being the better spot, stop harping on a point that isn't in contention. And learn to fucking read.

I consider a World Title match a headline match regardless of where they put it on the card. Lex/Yoko was a headliner and that ran like 2nd or 3rd at Mania X. Now that they have two world titles it's the same thing. The term "Main-Event" should be reserved for the last match, but saying something is a headliner is different. At this point in time I would consider cross-promotional matches and world title matches headliners, nothing else.

Are you saying 8 because you're in central time? Stop trying to confuse me! My point wasn't that RAW needs a lead in to attract viewers, my point is that these channels could make better use of that built in wrestling audience. They know people will tune in at 9 (est ) for RAW, so there's no reason not to book something that might appeal to them before it, get the viewers who are trying to kill an hour before RAW. The stuff they stick before RAW, IMO at least, wouldn't make many wrestling fans tune into the channel earlier than 9. Put something cool like Ultimate Fighter at 8 and they've got me tuning in an hour earlier, thus increasing their ratings.

I feel the same exact way. He's headlined every Mania since XVI save one, and that one was actually my favorite of all his Mania programs, and Benoit taken out of the equation my favorite match of the bunch as well. The only other guy to headline that many Manias was Hogan, a superhero face, and fans finally got bored of it. Doing the same thing with a heel who's not nearly the draw that Hogan was just doesn't make sense to me, and odds are he'll be headlining every Mania for the forseeable future. With a character as strong and established as his they really don't need the title or the main event to sell his matches, yet they continue to waste their most valuable props on him

I'll give Spike TV credit for having better followups to RAW. I mean, the "adult" cartoons, MXC, Joe Schmoe and Ultimate Fighter is all the kind of stuff that appeals to wrestlings target audience. I've actually watched both Joe Schmoes and the Ultimate Fighter because they followed RAW, as I'd likely never go out of my way to watch a reality show. Did anyone really stick around for Silk Stalkings, Tek Wars or that beach cop show with Slater back in the USA days? Neither channel did a very good job with lead ins IMO, USA used to have Walker: Texas Ranger reruns for a long time, and Spike has had CSI, Star Trek and probably some other stuff. I've never understood why they consistently lead in to RAW with repeats of TV dramas. I can't really compare the advertising campaigns because I honestly never watch either channel except for when RAW was/is on.

It's worth noting that Douglas, Bam Bam and Candido were all disliked by the clique, so there was definitely something there with them using the triple threat sign and stealing Rick Rude seemingly right after he debuted with ECW. Oddly enough I think there may have been an overlap where Rude was associated with both groups, showing up as HBK's "Insurance Policy" right before his blow-off in ECW, though I could wrong on that..
