I was just about to say, what the hell is going on with them on defense? And Allen for 3. Again.
-
couldn't you pick Bill Cartwright and at least pretend to take this seriously
-
Yeah, the Spurs are blowing this Haha, also, the other great thing about this TNT feed is they don't cut to commercials, they just keep the camera on the court/bench/crowd during timeouts. They showed an entire Laker Girls routine, and the camera man was focusing on the MASSIVE rack of this one blonde chick the entire time!

I just wanted to chime in with some late love on the Ray Richardson pick. I actually thought about him back when I took Robertson, and he almost definitely would have been one of my next two picks.

I grabbed the recently called up STL reliever Chris Perez when he cleared waivers. A small consolation for losing Izzy, he's thrown 3 hitless innings so far and will probably get a shot at closing at some point.

Spreading the court and chucking up jumpers = offensive rebounds grabbed by David Lee. Running = David Lee finishing on fast breaks. I agree that he needs a more consistent jump shot, and if he had that he could be a poor white man's Amare Stoudamire, but one thing I'm sure of is that the two things he does really well are two things that the bigs in Phoenix (Amare and Marion) thrived on.

Heh, it's pretty fun to just watch Kobe up and down the court
-
Fuck, I knew I should have lay money on this game. LA was a 7 point favorite
-
Especially if Lee blows up like he should playing under D'Antoni, and not having Isiah constantly jerking around with his minutes.

The stream on tnt.com is pretty cool. They have a 4 camera angle mosaic, two player focus cams that just follow close up one player from each team (Kobe and Manu), and a cam from one of the baselines that zooms up and down the court. No commentary either, so can really hear the players, refs and crowd.

Yeah, but so does Zach Randolph's. We might not be able to trade him for players with shorter deals. I'm pretty sure w/ Marbury, Rose, James etc. coming off the books we'd be far enough under the cap to make a max deal in 2010, so while it would be nice to have as much space as possible, it's not essential to clear up the space that Randolph is taking up. Plus, if we want to attract LeBron James we need to have a team that looks like it's good enough for him to take over the hump. As of now, it ain't looking like that.

I don't know about Hinrich. Get Phoenix involved, they might like Ty Thomas, and give us Barbosa or Diaw
-
They can still trade for Z-Bo! Please, Chicago, trade for Z-Bo!
-
Yeah, and even in a loss he went 7 innings, 6 hits, 0 bb, 3 runs, 7 ks. He would have been the first guy to go 10-0 in something like 90 years too.
-
The Knicks got the 6th pick. FUCK. THAT. BULLSHIT!
-
I was hoping to get Dale Ellis and Red Holzman. Fuck you all.
-
Actually, you beat me 7-3-2. My hitting completely shit the bed other than Chipper, Drew and Victorino.

Just agreed to my first trade of the season, with Serenity I'm sending Zack Greinke and Jonathan Broxton for Robinson Cano and Joba Chamberlain. Tough to part with Greinke, but for two of my favorite Yankees? Yes sir!

Well, my other guy made it back to me! I've had this guy tabbed here since about the second round. I'm kind of surprised to not have to go to one of my back up choices, but maybe this guy is a bit overlooked due to the fact that he had to retire at the age of 29 due to a major back injury. But in his 8 healthy years in the league he was a force. Brad Daugherty, C Career Averages of 19 pts, 9.5 rbds, 3.7 assists, .532 FG%. 7 ft, 240-245, he adds some size for me behind the smaller Reed and Lucas, and was an excellent low post player, passer and mid-range shooter. Solid defender too, though not a prolific shot blocker.

My gut feeling is that there will be some road wins in the Detroit-Boston series. I'm pretty much expecting Detroit to take game 1 in Boston, if any team can come out flat it's them, but they should have a chip on their shoulder about being the first team to win in Boston. For the Celtics, they've had to expend a ton of energy so far, they're obviously going to be super amped up after that game 7 and the crowd is going to be nuts, but Detroit can definitely wear them down over the course of the game. Bench play is going to be a big key for Boston, and I think Ray Allen is hurting pretty bad and they're not talking about it, his ankles or something, because he's just not moving well at all. He's going to chase Rip Hamilton all over the court? I don't think so. Tony Allen should be getting serious run in game 1. As for the game 7, I've seen Pierce have some ridiculous performances before, but given the magnitude of that game that has to be the best he's ever played. And what I loved about it was that he wasn't just scoring, he was leading his team on both ends, diving for loose balls, hustling on defense, it was awesome to see, especially after he'd played pretty good defense against LeBron most of the series and just hadn't had that "Paul Pierce game" where he's just unguardable and hitting all kinds of ridiculous contested shots. Awesome, awesome stuff, and LeBron has nothing to hang his head over, he just desperately needs a Pippen.

It's been 12 hours, I'm making my pick. This dude is the perfect 6th man for my team. Pretty fucking psyched that he's still available, I was afraid he might go this round. Alvin Robertson, G One of the best defensive guards ever, he made 6 all defensive teams, led the league in steals three times, and was top 5 in the category 8 times. He was also pretty well rounded, career averages of 5.2 boards, 5 assists and 14 points per game, though in his prime he was more of a 17-6-6 type guy. Can play or defend either guard position, like I said he's an ideal 6th man for me and a compliment to the players I already have.

Hardaway is a great pick, he's the other guy I considered at PG along with Mark Price
-
That's true, just a difference in approach I guess. I'm drafting a team with a certain style of play in mind, and I'll pick a coach who I feel can match that style later on. I'm also making a point to take unselfish, self-motivated, like-minded players without any glaring character issues, so I don't feel like I need a guy to manage personalities or reign anyone in. I think my team so far could pretty much coach itself on the floor.
-
I just figure, there's so many good-great coaches to choose from, why burn an early pick on one when there's still going to be a ton to choose from later. We're picking like 200 players, and only 19 coaches.
-
Price was one of the guys I considered when I was picking KJ I'm surprised so many people are taking coaches this early
