Oh god, here come the giant Sara Jessica Parker billboards in the gaps of the outfield A's announcer: "He hit that one to the Gap! Where fleece pullovers are only 19.95!"

Hhahahha. McHale taking over as coach is GENIUS! He's the GM, so the players can't give him any shit, unless they want to risk being shipped to Toronto I never thought big Kev would fire Flip though, he was I believe the longest tenured coach in the NBA, and a close friend of McHale's back to their college days. Somebody had to take the fall I guess, but Sprewell and Cassell are really to blame for this team's failure.

I'm not even going to guess about who it might be cause it could seriously be just about anyone, but Dawn sleeping around behind Simon Diamond's back wouldn't surprise me one bit, it's impossible to maintain a relationship in two different companys, especially with the WWE schedule.

How did they handle RVD's injury on TV? Did they pinpoint a moment he got hurt or just say, "well, RVD's hurt"? Here's what I'd do. Give Mysterio the US Title while RVD is out (this is assuming Cena takes the world title). When RVD comes back, he wants to start his team with Rey back up, but Rey shoots him down because he's too busy defending the US title to go after the tag belts. RVD plays it off with a, "hey, that's cool man" but then turns on Rey a few weeks later, maybe when Rey comes to him for backup against a heel duo. This is going to require a golden interview trashing the fans and guys like Rey for his lack of success on SD!, saying he was content to be a fun guy and entertain the fans but he got nothing out of it. Hopefully RVD can make a return to the aloof, semi-pissed arrogance of his ECW days rather than the happy stoner guy he's become. Bringing Paul Heyman in as his manager a few weeks later would probably seal the deal, as the fans hate Heyman, and it wouldn't force RVD to stretch himself on the mic, where he's liable to get the fans back on his side by accident. This would also require RVD to modify his moveset, something he's definitely capable of, but by his own admission hasn't had motivation, or pressure from management, to do. His ring work would be the key to keeping him a strong, believeable heel, as he really needs to be a dick in the ring and can't do stuff like rolling thunder and the monkey flip out of the corner. I'd make it more strike/submission based, with whatever mean-spirited wrinkles he can throw in, eye gouges, chokes, etc. Early on, teases of his popular spots without payoffs should get good heat as well. After the feud with Rey, transition into a program with Guerrero, and if the character is hot enough, maybe with Cena over the world title.

That's the thing, I don't even care if anyone has or hasn't used at this point, because between steroids and amphetamines and painkillers and everything else, it just doesn't matter, it's part of the game. It's been part of the game since way back when guys were popping pills and chewing tobacco for an added rush, the science is just more evolved these days. Personally, I'm just sick of all these guys claiming total innocence and blatantly lying to the public in the process, that to me is worse than using drugs to aid performance. If you get called on it, own up.

explain. IMO, If anything, Pillman was the perfect compliment to Austin. Imagine him going corporate and siding with McMahon in the early days of that feud? Pillman was a heat machine, and an excellent actor. He wouldn't have even needed to work the way he'd been capable of in his prime, as the majority of Austin's matches at that point were gimmicky brawls anyway.

I believe the proper term is "ass load"

I think this effort by the enitrety of MLB to discredit Canseco is pretty funny in-itself, and speaks volumes about the issue. MLB is so afraid of roids that they're trying to paint him as a lone conspiracy nut. Anyone who's willing to look at things logically has suspected most of the guys Canseco's named for years. Is it a shock that Palmeiro or Boone or Clemens or Tejada may have juiced? Not to me. If anyone can spot the signs of use it's a guy like Canseco. McGwire and Sosa? We know they were on the shit, there's no mystery there. I just think the whole thing is a joke, especially when MLB is the one trying to spin and lie and cover everything up, yet Canseco is the big bad villian trying to slander our heroes. Yeah, Canseco is a scumbag, he's just doing this for a quick buck, but he's no worse than anyone else involved.

SUSPENDED?!?!! Fuck that, Bowen gave him a little head BUTT first, Vince simply returned the favor. Bowen has a history of shit like that. If anything, it was bullshit that Carter got a second T after he got undercut. Bowen has a history of shit like that too.

Ah Hollywood, how I loathe thee -
Tinsley has missed the last 5 games or so with *I think* an ankle injury, something leg/foot related. He tried to run tonight but after a couple minutes decided he couldn't go. Indy is pretty much fucked without him.

That's Tom "scrub" Tolbert for ya Kings definitely got screwed there, and it's extra bitter for them after that whole Brad Miller/Amare Stoudemire thing. But fuck em, at least they aren't the Knicks

It was meant to bury Flair, sure, but he made it work and it was easily the most entertaining thing on WCW TV at the time. Those vignettes in the mental hospital were hilarious.

I always do a February fantasy baseball draft for fun, and well, it's today and I haven't really prepared for it. Anyone got some hot sleeper picks for me? And related, what are y'alls projections for Beltre?

I've been watching some WWF 1996 stuff...

If I remember correctly he had a pretty good match with Al "Leif Cassidy" Snow around the same time. -
10 team, points league. The ENTIRE league sans myself went nuts on an early closer run (saves are worth 10 pts), leaving some easy pickings at other positions.
-
When was this? Are you talking about a Raw or Smackdown show, or a PPV? Last PPV that I can remember readily that was in St. Louis was No Mercy 2001. S'far as I know, WWE never stayed away from the place, especially not for ten years. I think he's talking about their first show back in Oregon

What was up with Barkley screaming "THE CHAMP IS HERE!" over and over again? Between that and him losing his mind and screaming "WOOOOOOO!" over and over when Flair was at a Bobcats game......
-
Well, I had my draft, and.....it was interesting. Good closers are worth a ton in this league, and a CRAZY run on closers started early on. Like, Gagne, Lidge and Rivera were gone before my 2nd pick. I decided not to disrupt my pre-existing strategy, so I got assed out in the relief category, but since it's points it's not a huge deal, and with the turnover rate on many teams I expect I can pick up a reliable closer or two as the season goes on. Anyway, here's my team, let me know what y'all think. I was extremely surprised to get Randy Johnson with the 17th pick, but that's what closer runs will do. I think Thome was a steal where I got him, it was either him or Adam Dunn there, but I'm not a fan of Dunn, or that Cincy team. Wilkerson was earlier than I wanted him, I fucked up and ran out of time and he was top on my queue. Not a huge deal because I would have taken him in the next few rounds, and I think he'll be great this year, but it kind of messed up my strategy. Frank Thomas was a HUGE mistake as I didn't realize he was out til June, but I was due for at least one boneheaded move anyway. Valverde was a panic pick when I couldn't decide on anyone but knew I wanted a reliever. Round 1: OF Bob Abreu Round 2: P Randy Johnson Round 3: OF Gary Sheffield Round 4: SS Nomar Garciaparra Round 5: 1B Jim Thome Round 6: P Roger Clemens Round 7: C Ivan Rodriguez Round 8: P Roy Halladay Round 9: 1B Brad Wilkerson Round 10: P Josh Beckett Round 11: 3B Chipper Jones Round 12: OF Aaron Rowand Round 13: SS Orlando Cabrera Round 14: P C.C. Sabathia Round 15: DH Frank Thomas Round 16: P Jeremy Affeldt Round 17: OF Trot Nixon Round 18: SS Bobby Crosby Round 19: 2B Luis Castillo Round 20: P Jose Valverde Round 21: 3B Dallas McPherson Round 22: 1B Adam LaRoche Round 23: C Johnny Estrada Round 24: P Tsao Chin-Hui Round 25: P Scot Shields Round 26: OF Jason Lane Round 27: P Juan Rincon Round 28: P Dan Haren I don't think I have a winning roster at the moment, my pitching needs work, but I like my basic foundation.

Why do Kings games always turn ugly?
-
Brand, Francis, Hughes, Webber, Bibby, and Gasol are the biggest snubs IMO. Marbury is putting up all-star numbers, but as a Knicks fan, I think that team's performance disqualifies him. If they hadn't gone on that huge slide I'd put him up there. Jamaal Tinsley's name hasn't come up much, but IMO he's having a great season. He carried the Pacers when all those dudes were suspended, and is putting up fantastic all-around numbers.

Why did big Dust leave SanFran again? Seemed like he had a good thing going there
